It's great to work with an honest contractor.

Old (16 year) roof was removed; ridge vents extended and corrected (previous contractor); ice/moisture barrier placed on entire roof surface; gable vents added both ends; new bathroom light/fan installed with extended PVC pipe to vent to exterior in gable (previous one vented into attic creating moisture issue) while roof was open; additional insulation added in attic and storage eve where needed and covered with plywood as necessary; architectural shingles installed. Vinyl siding on house and shed was pressure washed to remove mold/mildew. Jim and his crew arrived on time daily, worked the day through, coordinated removal of old materials to avoid impact on the yard, took pains to ensure the roof was secured when rain interrupted the installation. Jim took photos of his work at some stages to show us how he installed vent piping, insulation, and the ridge vents as things progressed. He was meticulous in pitching the PVC vent pipe properly to drain any condensation that occurs to the outside. He kept us informed of progress and minor issues as they arose. Clean up daily was exceptional including covering of belongings in the attic and vacuuming the attic at the end of the project. Heating cables for the roof gutters are not available right now so he will purchase and install them when winter is closer. Jim is a reliable contractor who can do almost anything. A real pleasure to work with. We are very comfortable having him and his crew in our home even if we have to leave.

The project was slated for 4 weeks but stretched to 7 as Curtis Lumber misinformed Jim Nally about a delay of 2 weeks in production of the roof trusses and a manufacturer's back order on the vinyl floor of about a week and a half. Jim kept the project going as much as possible but had to cover with a tarp until the trusses arrived and later wait for the flooring to be delivered to Curtis. Jim and his team of 3 experienced men were a delight to work with. They showed up daily at 8 AM, didn't leave until 5 PM. Their work was exacting with no wasted time or materials. Minor modifications along the way were accommodated without issues. The work site was cleaned up at the end of each day. Everyone was friendly, personable, and presentable. We had to have a small cherry tree removed to facilitate the new room. It had special significance to my wife. Jim likes to work with wood and suggested he try using the trunk with a branch and a root to fashion the railings to the steps into the garage. He did so with fine craftsmanship, consulting with us along the way. The result is a unique and memorable addition to the house. It was obvious Jim put a lot of thought and effort into that project and really enjoys doing things like that. Payment was in 3 installments and all expenses for materials and labor were completely itemized and matched to the contract. I suggested to Jim he request a discount on the trusses from Curtis Lumber since they caused a major disruption in his schedule and ours. He did and was successful to our satisfaction.
