D&L CONTRACTING

Had to cut holes in sheet rock of both bathrooms and refit a brass shower head fittings .....He used plastic 90 degree threaded connectors not meant for hot water....... As a result I had to reapir a general contractors work 2 years after the house was completed...... Real shady work.... I would not let them build a doghouse........

This job went horrible. The Basement was done nicely and it has no cracks in the concrete. Mistakes: Lighting- the lights are not lined up in the hallway and not centered in the bedrooms. I also bought all of the lights out of pocket in a so called turn key house....... He also tried to install gold recessed light fixtures in the house- just cheesy.... Drywall- the drywall was done very poorly- many cracks at the seams only. D&L says its from the house settling. It's only where the seams are... He came back and slopped on some mud which I had to sand myself.... He does not back his work.... The house is full of cracks in the sheet rock.... Roofline- The roof line was not done according to the building plan in the front of the home.... He made the roof smaller thus saving himself a few bucks.... Moldings- The contract said we would use primed wood moldings. He used MDF which is made from saw dust. It dents and chips when hit with the vacuum or childs toys... Very cheap and poor quality.... The house was supposed to be a mid grade finish.... Doors- the one set of French doors in the front never lined up correctly... He tried to fix it twice and they are not much better.... He also tried to charge me extra for a back door in the house.... He thought he'd elimnate it.... Deck Railings- Are loose and not done properly. He used 0ne 3 inch lag bolt instead of double carriage bolting the posts to the deck... His repair was 4 - 3 inch deck screws into the posts... I fixed it myself as a have a one year old and was afraid the railings could come down.... Stairs- interior-The worst job I have ever seen- He mounted the stair newel posts with deck screws and nothing else. No mount plates or braces. The whole stair railing moves side to side and up and down .... He did not evern finish with molding at the top of the stairs............ He did not install stairs into the basement at all ........ and said I would have to buy spiral stairs..... This was a very poor job all the way through. We have had plumbing leaks.... you name it and it was not done correctly....
