First of all they were rude nasty. I offered several ideas to resolve the problem. They said I must have texted the company twice to get the service. So I asked them to show me the texts because I knew I hadn't done it. They tried to say that someone used my phone; I live with my two college age sons. Why would they get ringtones for my phone? It would not work on their phones. Basically, they were mean spirited and had no intention of helping me obtain a refund, I told them I was amazed that a company would let "any" company bill their customers, without written verification. According to Verizon, "all the companies do it". but they do have a block to put on your phone to prevent this. I have been with them for 10 years----that was never mentioned. I So I am done with them ( Verizon) and I am looking for another wireless provider. I will send in my check and the copies of the bills that prove how far back the "illegal" charges go. Be careful consumers!
Description of Work: Since February, there has been a $10.00 charge on my phone. It was an "outside" vendor who supplies ringtones. I never contacted this company and I never purchased anything from them. I have tried 3 times to get reimbursed by Verizon. I got one month rebate but the charge was still on the next bill. All in all, I was charged 80.00 extra. According to Verizon, they can only access my account 90 days back. I offered to send them the copies. They ignored me. I spent hours on the phone and on chat.

My home phone and internet went out I called Thursday and they said the earliest somone could come would be the next Wednesday. This was not a time of storms of power outages this seems to be how they work. No other utility except during extraordinary circumstances would have someone wait this long.
Description of Work: They were contracted to provide internet and local phone service. But they did not do this.

It didn?t go well. I had really bad land line phone service. When it rained the line was always full of static. When it rained hard, my phone wouldn?t work. Verizon came out to look at the lines several times and always had the same explanation, the lines were old. The repair folks did what they could but said Verizon would not replace the lines until they were worse. My question was how bad does it need to get? As for my internet service it was even worse than the home phone. Verizon replaced my modem 4 times and I still kept losing internet service. As a matter of fact the first replacement modem they sent got so hot it actually burned a mark into the desk it was sitting on! I spent countless hours on the phone with Verizon?s technical support. Again they tried to help, but with inadequate equipment there wasn?t much anyone could do. In the first week of October 2012 I had enough and called to cancel my home phone. I had previously already cancelled my internet at the end of September. I had received a bill and paid it. My bill included my home phone and my Direct TV. Verizon sent my payment to Direct TV, but when I cancelled they pulled the payment back. I received a call from Direct TV informing me they didn?t receive my payment. They suggested I call Verizon. I called Verizon and was told that I would have to wait for a refund. When I asked why they pulled it back, I couldn?t get a straight answer. In the end it took Verizon 6 weeks to send me that money! I kept calling to inquire where it was and each person I talked to would give me a different date as to when it would be processed! I couldn?t get a straight answer out of any of them, even supervisors. Eventually I was told I would need to speak to someone in Financial Services. The staff in Financial Services was just as incompetent as the customer service representatives and supervisors I had talked to. Bottom line Verizon held my $156.00 unnecessarily for 6 weeks! I wouldn?t recommend anyone use any Verizon Services, even Verizon Wireless!

Since the time I had Verizon files, it’s been a nightmare. My bill is wrong every month and I always have to call and ask for a supervisor. They keep mistakenly charging me for equipment and they don’t seem to get it off my bills every month. I signed up for and I was supposed to have it for $99.99 every month and it’s always been like $170 to $200, it’s a mess. I like the services, their internet is really fast and I don’t like to go to direct TV because I lose it every time the weather is bad, and I stay in Buffalo New York where the weather is always bad. I have to find a day where I really feel like calling them, for example this month they sent me a bill for $180. It’s just a nightmare with those people. Their internet is really fast, phone service is fine and I have a bundled service where I get files TV and that is fine too, but my billing is way off. I have to call and get it changed every month. I know two other people who also have the same problem with them. It’s a bigger nightmare when you have your cell phone bundled into it; they did not tell me when I signed the two year contract that unlimited texting is for only 3 months, but you get the other services for 12 months. When I spoke to a supervisor, he did not know what the other person is talking about, so everybody is making up their own story about my bill and I have to fight to talk to a supervisor. So it’s me and Verizon fighting on the phone every month to fix my bill, and I want to warn other people about Verizon files that their service is fine, but the bill will never be right. Based on my experience so far even their price is very high since they have not promised me anything which was there in the contract. I would not use them again in the future.

Verizon has the worse customer service available. I recently had a call at home offering me a bundle deal that included the home phone, FOIS TV and FOIS internet service. After she worked the number she said my bill would be $159 and change a month including everything including taxes and fees…(it was the end number). I thought it was skeptical so the next day I called Verizon and they had no record of the call and I said “so nothing will change on my account?” they said no it will not be changed. 8 days later I get an email confirming the change followed by a bill prorated for the past days and another full month added in. I called again explained what happened and I asked for it to be switched back to the way it was. She argued for about 15 minutes when she finally said ma’am there was no changes to your account. I reiterated with proof that my last bill was assigned pricing as TV- $65 internet $35 and phone $30 and this bill it says TV- $60 internet $35 and phone $35. I told her I understood it was the same price $185 but I was told it would be cheaper and it’s not, at all. I asked her to have it switched back and cancel the change and she said no it can not be changed. I asked her jokingly well who made this change since you have no record of anyone called me with this quote and I did not confirm it? She said she didn’t have an answer for me and I asked to speak to a manager and she said that one would have to call me. I told her I wanted a call with in 24 hours and she said she can’t promise that. 3 days went by and I called back. A gentleman answered and was short abrupt and nasty. I asked him why no one has called me and he said I never called so how could they. I then asked for a manager to call me again. He said “fine is that all?” I said I guess and the phone was hung up, no good bye or thank you. I then emailed a complaint regarding him and the woman I spoke too and had no response. I sent a second email 2 weeks after the first and still nothing. This has been going on for 2 months and they simply do not care and I am stuck paying this until someone contacts me to fix my account. I am appalled at how a company can stay in business with this horrible customer service. It is truly not worth the FOIS to deal with a company like this. I will never recommend them to anyone…actually I encourage them to pick any other provider but them.

Our experience with has been fine. It is not like we have lots of choices down here. It is fine with them because out of habit more so than research other companies. We haven’t contacted them since we got them, so I don’t know anything about responsiveness. However, I do think that they could have more contact with their customers. We would continue to use them in the future. I am disappointed that we don’t have, what they call, files. Verizon has a service, which is called Files where one get ones cable TV, HDTV, broadband and one’s home all through them under the program called Files. I live in an island and it is not available to us here. Customer service, to me seems bad. If they are advertising it, saying they have it, then it should be available to all customers. When in reality it is available only in certain parts of Western New York, where I live. It is cheaper to have cable and internet through Files than my current provider is. That is why I am disappointed that they don’t have it here for us yet. They keep saying its coming.

The most recent event was a nightmare. Someone had cancelled my account and stolen all of my minutes that were pre paid (400 roll over minuets, and then a 30 dollar pre paid card). I did not notice that my cell phone was working until one of my friends tried to call me. When I brought this to the attention of Verizon Wireless they passed the ball to the fraud division. The fraud department told me they would contact me within 7 to 10 days, and then I would get my account back with the same phone number. The fraud department never called, and nothing was done, so I made another visit to the store. This time I was able to speak with a manager, and his name was Roy. He apologized for the difficulties, and they could not do anything to get my old account back, and that I had to accept a new one. It was take it or leave it. They were not going to give me any of the stolen minuets back.
Description of Work: I have had couple of problems with my services were they have changed my account without giving me any notice.

I've never had a big problem with them. If I do have an issue, they are very good about resolving it quickly. I am hard on my phones and this last style has been replaced twice now. I like the service/warranty repair options because they do honor their equipment.

Negative: no one came at the appointed time.
