UTECH BASEMENT WATERPROOFING

Description of Work: I had two basement wall cracks repaired. They were able to repair the cracks without having to dig outside. Others I called told me this would not be possible AND I would have had to wait until spring for them to do it. UTECH was able to complete my repair within a month of my initial contact. The work was completed in less than a day. After they left, other than having a dry basement, you would never have known that they had been here. I would use them again for sure but, hope I never need to.

Description of Work: It was a no charge repair from a repair done years ago. We have used them twice in the past 22 years for two different leaks.

Description of Work: We called Utech to give us a quote on some backyard drainage. Bill was friendly, prompt (showed up 15 minutes early for our appointment), and informative. The reason I called Utech was because of our prior experience with them: One year ago we bought a house that had obviously had two basement wall repairs done. The previous owners did not have the paperwork anymore, but knew that UTech had done the work. I called and ended up talking to Mark Utech. He came out at no cost to review the walls in question, ended up educating us on drainage, suggested we remove a large tree that was too close to the foundation, and gave us the paperwork (thus ensuring that we'd be able to keep the lifetime warranty intact). He recommended that we do no work at that time, finding out IF we even needed anything done. | |His advice was spot on. The large tree, when removed, was starting to grow roots into the slab under our garage! And what we thought might be a leak into the basement ended up being merely condensation. Mark saved us a lot of money. | |This year we ended up using a different company for our backyard drainage. But it was a tough choice. The only reason we chose someone else was price.

Description of Work: Called for horizontal cracks in cinder blocks in basement on 1 wall. The person who arrived was punctual and polite. I had apx 1/2 inch or less of bowing and 1/2 inch or less of a gap at between largest cinder blocks. I was advised by mark that I would need 7 steel beams to correct the problem. He also said the project couldn't proceed unless an engineer (he provided name and phone number) were to see project and draw plans. I decided to call an independent pe engineer who said otherwise. My house was built after WW2 so some settling occurred and we also had a very difficult winter. I was advised to patch up the holes on inside and out as well as a few other recommendations in the basement. This pe engineer provided a written report with his assurance that house is not sinking and is structurally sound. He saved me $6220 not to mention peace of mind.

Description of Work: Patched a large crack in the cellar wall, and reinforced it. It was done quickly and all mess was cleaned up afterward. (Am not absolutely sure of the date in 10/14)

Description of Work: I had a crack in basement wall that would occasionally let water in, not to serious but I wanted to take care of sooner rather than later. As a precaution I took care of a couple other cracks where I am not currently having any problems. I contacted UTECH because I know they,ve been in business for long time, I didn't call anyone else. 15 years ago there were only a handful of qualified companies, and UTECH was one of them. I rated them average on price as based on other AL reviews they're pricing is in line with their competitors. Mark and his crew were great. There was small problem with basement wall insulation that Mark took care of. Simply put they are very knowledgeable and very professional. Should any problems/issues arise in the future I'll update my review.
