 + -1 moreOur office had a leak under the sink and we called Schmit's Plumbing to set up an appointment. They were able to come the next morning. They actually were able to come an hour earlier than was originally scheduled. They diagnosed the problem as a cracked fitting and put in a temporary repair. Parts were ordered and the temporary part was replaced 36 hours later. We are happy with the repair and Schmit's Plumbing's promptness. We've used Schmit's Plumbing many times in the past and we will always call them for any plumbing or heating problem that we may have. They are honest and prompt with their work and we have recommended them to many neighbors and relatives.

 + 1 moreWe use them all the time. They're excellent. They're very good and they don't rip you off. We've used him also for minor issues as well. He's very honest and confident. He was here as recent as December doing some repairs and the cost was about $250 in total. His prices are very competitive and he responds quickly. If he can't do it, he'll tell you if he can.
Description of Work: I purchased a Big Deal coupon from Schmidt Plumbing & Heating for heating and AC services. We had a water problem in the summer when we just moved in our place and we used a local company to vacuum the walls and dry it and they did a great job. That was July 30 of 2013 and we used him recently again because we were having a problem with our gas fireplace and a minor issue with our furnace. He spent a good 2 hours here repairing them.

 + -1 moreThe Schmit brothers arrived on time and finished the whole job by 2 pm the same day. They kept me informed throughout the day. They cleaned up before they left and all was very tidy. I mentioned to Paul I had a list of other projects that needed to be completed before putting the house on the market and he offered suggestions to take care of many of the items on my list. I could not be happier with their service and professionalism. I would definitely use them again and recommend to anyone needing their services.
Description of Work: My 25 year old furnace and air conditioner developed failure in the coil, condenser pump and cracks in the heat chamber. It was time to replace. I had 4 vendors in to quote. Most assumed that a high efficiency furnace was the most desired, however, Paul recommended a medium efficiency which reduced the changes required in an older home (built in 1952). I had the house inspected in preparation for putting it up for sale and the inspector told me that it would take 32 years for payback of the high efficiency unit over the medium efficiency and the medium efficiency will last longer. I went with the recommendation and saved significantly. Newer homes benefit from the high efficiency, however, consumers don't necessarily know that a medium efficiency will perform better in older homes.

 + 1 moreIt was a great experience and we really can't say enough good things about Paul Schmit and Schmit Plumbing. Paul spent a great deal of time at the house and was always very pleasant, professional, extremely helpful and hard working. He was at the house when he said he'd be there and would even stop by when he saw us working at the house just to check on our progress. This is a professional who goes way above and beyond what is expected. We found out about Schmit Plumbing through Angie's list and feel that his A+ rating is very accurate. We will definitely be recommending him to anyone who needs a plumber.
Description of Work: We were making much needed repairs and updates to a recently purchased 60 year old house. We chose to do quite a bit of work on our own but knew that we would need a professional when it came to the plumbing. Paul Schmit installed a new water heater, toilets, pedestal sinks, tub and tub surround, shower base and a new dryer vent. He replaced bathroom radiators, reworked laundry water and drains, a closet flange and rerouted plumbing to accommodate some changes we were making. He also rerouted heating lines and replaced a section of baseboard. We encountered a sudden living room heating leak, which he ran over and fixed right away.
