 + -1 moreThey did a fantastic job. As soon as I bought the coupon on-line I had a phone call about an hour later and then they were here about an hour later. So their response time was extremely impressive. The gentleman that came was excellent, he was polite. He did find a little problem that he corrected. It was well worth the time and money and I would recommend them to anybody.
Description of Work: I used Precision Overhead Garage Door. I had a big deal purchase for a garage door tune-up. They replaced the wheels and checked everything and made sure everything was working properly.

We reviewed estimates together but I was the one who talked to the salesman and set up the replacement of the double garage door for her. The company was very helpful in geting the job done in just a few days which was important because of the weather and the door not working. The installers were very professional and courteous. The installation was done well and they promised to return when the weather warms up to make a final adjustment that could not be done at the time of installation. The price was very competitive and the quality of materials is good. I would definitely return to this company with any other garage door needs.
Description of Work: The service was the replacement of a double wide garage door. The electric opener was attached to the new door. All new tracks were also installed.

 + -1 morePrecision Door contacted me the next day (Monday) and set up an appointment for the next day, Tuesday to have the service done. The Tech called and arrived as scheduled. The tech Bill Geary introduced him self and was very courteous and professional. We talked about all the service to be done and what was included in his inspection. Upon completion of inspection Bill Geary went through all the functions or the door and how they all worked ( good education for me, many thing I never knew about). He showed me pulleys that were worn and explained how there function interacted with the operation of the door itself. I asked him to replace the worn pulleys while he was there because the cost was so very reasonable. All service was done to above my expectations and everything was done in around 30 minutes. Once again big cutos to Bill Geary, Precision Doors excellent service tech. He went above and beyond what was expected of a service tech. I sure wish all the repair service people that have come into my house were as professional, courteous, and friendly as Bill. Good job Precision Overhead Garage Door Service. Richard Shriber
Description of Work: I ordered a service special that was running on Angie's list (via e-mail) on 1-20-13 ( Sunday). The service was for replacing all the door rollers with undated new ones, inspect all functions of the garage door and report the findings.

 + -1 moreMy automatic garage door would not go down. I checked the "eye" to make sure it was clear and it worked until I put the car in the garage. Then it stopped working again. I had to manually open and close the door. I called Precision Overhead Garage Door Service at about 12:45 pm because I saw it on Angie's List and the operator told me someone would be out the same day between 1 and 5 pm. At about 4:15 Jarred called. By this time the door was operating again so I told him not to come. But he came just to check everything anyway. The door operated like it had not had a problem earlier. He checked the springs and motor, tightened the hook that pulls the release (when I had to open it manually), and lubricated everything. The door has been fine since then, but it is also much quieter opening and closing. Maybe all it needed was a lube job, but Jarred took care of it as a courtesy for me. He was extremely professional and courteous. If the door becomes temperamental again, I would definitely call Precision They are fast, reliable and very professional.
Description of Work: General check up and lubrication of the operating parts of the door after the door was intermittently not operating and I had to open and close it manually.

 + -1 moreMy old garage door opener (Sears/Craftsman) stopped working. I used Angie's List to find out who to call for service. I called several garage door repair companies for service cost and availability. I decided to go with Precision Overhead Garage Door Service because their customer service was excellent, on the phone, in answering my questions and also to use the company's coupon. The technician (Jarrod) showed up on time and inspected the existing parts of the door and explained to me in detail what needs to be done. Jarrod did an excellent job installing the Lift Master garage door opener. He was friendly and very professional. So far, I'm very happy with the service and the new garage door opener and its features. It is very quite comparing to the old one.
Description of Work: Replaced the entire old garage door opener and its associated parts. Also, installed a new Torsion spring.

Jarrod the technician showed up on time and took his time going over the door and explaining how the door worked. He checked everything and I could tell he was deeply concerned that we would satisfied when the job was complete. He showed us the difference between high quality and low quality parts. The parts he used were visibly superior than the parts I had on my door which was installed 4 years ago and was already experiencing serious problems. I was so impressed I opted to go with a lifetime warranty. I can't believe the difference these new parts made on a door that was only 4 years old. I can barely hear it going up and down. Jarrod had all the work done in under 2 hours and when he was finished he went over everything with me and showed how the door balanced properly. I think I was most impressed with the higer quality parts since I dont want to get into the habit of fixing this every 4 years.
Description of Work: I had the door rebuilt and a new door opener installed.

The boys were professional, they showed up on time, it was easy to reach them even late on a Friday, easy to make a time change and they sent a follow up email to allow me to comment on their services. The parts were all high quality and they carry a lifetime warranty, The door is REMARKABLY quieter and smoother. If you have a garage under a bedroom, spend the extra $$ on the roller bearing door wheels! Another reviewer complained of high prices and up selling. In my case, the options were clearly laid out and I paid a bit more because I didn't want cheap parts or bad work done - again. You can always find a lower price with equally shoddy workmanship and inferior parts. If low price is your controlling factor, go with the guys who installed the junk I had installed 5 years ago or buy the parts yourself and install them. Just be careful that you don't break an arm tensioning those torsion springs. I value customer service, attention to detail, professionalism, quality work and superior parts. If you have similar traits, use Precision Overhead Door Service. If not, put the other installer I used last time on speed dial in your cell phone (don't call late on a Friday) or break an arm.
Description of Work: My garage door spring broke late on a Friday afternoon. I called three of the more familiar local garage door companies and got no answer at 4:50PM on a Friday. Precision did answer the phone and quickly set up an appointment for the following Monday. I had to change the appointment to later in the day due to a work conflict and it was a simple process to make the time change. Only one of the other two companies bothered to call me back the following Monday at 7:30AM but by then, it was too late. The third company I called did not have any way to leave a message. Moral of the story - if you want the business, answer your phone late on a Friday and don't use an automated answering system. The boys showed up within the specified time period and explained the options to me. I had gone "cheap" on the last set of springs and they lasted about 5 years and were installed improperly. They did not have a central bearing, were overtightened and were not powder coated. The work Precision did was not inexpensive, but I inspected their replacement parts prior to installation and they were great quality. Powder coated springs, door wheels with bearings similar to an high quality roller blade ABEC 9 bearing, new stainless door cables and a speedy installation. Quality is not low cost.

 + -1 moreThey wouldn't give me a clear price for the work and kept trying to sell additional services to me in an unprofessional way. They charge way too much money for what they do. While the guys were here I even tried to call the 800 number to find out the cost and they wouldn't give me a clear answer either. It seemed a little shaddy and certainly unprofessional.

 + -1 moreI found Precision through the web and should have been suspicious because no local address is provided (only an 800 number). They were responsive about coming out, but I was quite surprised at how much the repair was going to cost. I told him I was not prepared to spend that kind of money. He was polite about it and left. I waited for two days for Adams to become available and they fixed it for $80. When we told them about the $750 estimate, he said, "Let me guess, was it Precision?" I thought people should know to be sure to get estimates.
Description of Work: One of the cables on my garage door had come loose. I arranged to have Precision come fix it after our regular garage door repair company couldn't make it out for several days. Brian from Precision came and told me that both springs would need to be replaced as well as the cables for $500. He recommended I also replace the wheel bearings for another $250.
