I, too, purchased the Big Deal on 08/26/14, which included a GUARANTEE of scheduling the next day. Two weeks passed, and I didn't hear from them. I called the company and talked to the secretary and the owner called me back within 2-3 days. I missed the call. He called again about a week later and I called him back later in the day. When we spoke, he did, indeed, state that he was overwhelmed by the Angie's List deal and was working his way down the list. He let me speak to one of his sons, who took a detailed description of what I wanted done. He asked if I would be home on Sunday. I said I could be. He said he'd come by on Sunday to do the look-over and see how much needed to be done. So I waited for a phone call telling me approximately what time he would show up. No phone call. All of Sunday came and went (I stayed home, not going out with my family, not running errands) and nobody showed. Nobody called. That is so disrespectful of my and my family's time. The stuff I want done isn't complicated. It's mowing, weeding, hedge-trimming, and weed-whacking. $199 would be more than a fair price for what we need. If a company cannot handle the business they generate with a Big Deal, they shouldn't offer them. I will gladly update my feedback if the work is completed by October 26. That will be two whole months waiting for their service, which is more than fair. I would also like to be called the day *before* the appointment for confirmation and an arrival time estimate, and a call the day of the appointment, after they've narrowed down the timeframe, to give me an exact time of arrival. I will not wait in my house the entire day again, waiting for someone who isn't going to show. UPDATE (10/16/14): They showed up with no advance notice, even though I stated I wanted 24 hours advance notice. They did a v good job, overall, but they did not consult us on which specific plants we wanted to keep. I had told them on the phone that we liked the wild flowers that were going, and they went ahead and used Round Up on them, causing my 5-year-old daughter to cry. The yard looks much cleaner, but I don't like the owner's attitude, excuses, and repeated use of the word "retarded" to describe things he doesn't like. That's not professional behavior.

Didn't get return calls . Not sure what is the issue. Very Unprofessional.

I called them immediately after purchasing the Big Deal and we kept missing each other's calls. I spoke with Mark around the date of 8/28/2014 and he said he would be able to put me on the schedule in the next week and a half. I left several messages and sent emails and Mark responded to me around 9/16/2014 stating he would be in contact with me within 2 days. I still have not heard from him and unfortunately had to request a refund for the Big Deal.

It went horribly. This is the absolute worst "contractor" I have dealt with. This is not a landscaping company, but a guy and two kids with equipment you would buy at sears. I started my search by getting several other estimates first. The estimates ranged from $1050 to $1400, which included 12-16 yards of topsoil and leveling the mound in the back. The owner came out for an estimate. I was very clear on what I wanted done and shared that other estimates were for 12-16 yards of soil to complete the project. The owner came up with a price of $900 for the job. I asked him if the Angie's list offers were valid and he told me that he would just have to jack the price up more for the estimate if I had bought the deal so he could pay Angie's list. He wrote me a very vague (intentional I'm sure) estimate to complete the work. He was the only estimate of 6 not to detail materials and amounts. I called to confirm what was to be done in the job, as the estimate was indeed vague. I asked how many yards of soil would be needed to level the entire back yard (I do not have a large yard) and he said he wouldn't know for sure until he broke up the mound and knew how much more he would need to add. He said that 12 yards sounded logical. He then assured me that "I have been doing this for 17 years and the job will be done right. Your yard will be level and look better than it ever has." I talked it over with my wife and we hesitantly signed the contract, still a bit nervous because he failed to give us exact numbers like everyone else. His Angie's list rating was good and I guess that was the clincher......I will never base my decision on Angie's list again!!! I was told he would start the job in about 2 weeks after he got the deposit, because he was "swamped" with all these stupid Angie's list offers that weren't worth his time. SO...what happens? This guy shows up 2 days later unannounced and starts tearing up the back yard....no phone call, no communication. I got a message from my wife (who was alone and not expecting someone coming over) and another from my neighbor, who was aggravated that he didn't receive prior notice that trucks would be in his way (which I totally understood!). Two guys showed up in no uniforms with 2 small home unit rototillers and proceeded to mess up the back yard for an hour and then......just left without saying a word. They didn't say when they were coming back......or what still needed to be done....or how much top soil they were going to need......nothing. I was p***** but bit my tongue. I expected them to come back and finish the next day.....nope. No calls, no communication. Just a half finished job. So the following week they show up again on a random week day, this time the owner and two kids towing a tiny trailer of topsoil. Again, no phone call whatsoever. I got another call right away from my next door neighbor (who is retired) and kind of watches over the neighborhood. If he hadn't have called me I would have never known they were there. The only phone call I got from them was around 4pm....and that was only to say that the job was 95% done and that they wanted the rest of their money. Again, I was irritated but bit my tongue.....hoping the job was just done and I could get rid of this very unprofessional group. I told them I would be home within an hour to pay them. Upon arriving home, I met the owner.....who after bragging about himself for ten minutes, began complaining about "all the stupid Angie's list deals he had to do and some crazy Angie's list lady in Clarence that was asking him to do unrealistic things for her Angie's list deal." He kept reiterating that he didn't need the business and that it was all just a waste of his time. I asked him how much soil he ended up needing and he didn't give me a straight answer, stating "we ended up having extra." I looked at the tiny trailer that would hold 4 yards tops (I have gotten soil plenty of times). It was half empty. I was assuming that was his fourth or fifth load.......I would find out soon enough it was his only load. I walked into the back yard and immediately was very upset. The yard looked exactly as it did after they had rototilled the week before, only a tiny amount of topsoil was on top of the old soil to change the color. The other 50% of the yard that did not have the mound HAD NOT BEEN TOUCHED!!!! It was still pitted, unlevel, full of grass without a shred of topsoil.....COMPLETELY UNTOUCHED. I now had a down hill slope dumping into my already low end of my backyard. I asked when he was planning on doing the other half of the yard and he said "I can spread the other two yards I have on the other side if you want." "That side of the yard is fine." REALLY???? I've had this property for ten years and that "fine" area is a lake every spring. He then tried to sell me more soil stating he would complete the job he was already supposed to complete for an additional $300-$400! No way he was getting a dime more. I told him I was very upset and that he had done nothing that he promised besides break up the mound. The only thing I wanted was to build up the yard to the same height of my neighbors and he added virtually no top soil. Did he think I was blind and wouldn't notice? He then lied and stated he already added 8 yards and would add the "extra" two. Again, his trailer could maybe hold 4 yards tops. I learned from my neighbor later that he had only brought back half of that original load, about 4 or 5 wheelbarrows full, and the truck did not leave all day to get more. The guy was a complete liar and a cheat! He lied directly to my face and then had the nerve to ask me for more money to finish a job he had still only half completed! He then stomped off and quickly dumped the rest of the less than 2 yards onto random spots of the side of the yard which he had not touched at all......this amounting to nothing of course because we were about 10 yards short. He didnt even roll and the level the half that he did do. He again tried to sell me more and I again stated my dissatisfaction with his lack of work and his lies. Of course getting the soil he was supposed to would cut into his profit.....he was just planning on lying the whole time, hoping I was just stupid and intimidated and would just cough up the money. $900 to rototill a dirt mound for an hour and to spread maybe 4 yards of topsoil.........a complete rip off from a complete con artist. I don't know if he thought I was born yesterday or what? He then again began to get confrontational so I just went in the house. He called me on my cell phone and stated " what you're not going to pay me now man?" I contacted my lawyer, who thank God is family. He said to pay them in order to get them off the property and stop harassing me. The money could easily be retrieved back later because the job had been left half done. All I can say is I wouldn't trust this guy to rake leaves. He gave about 2 hours of work for $900 and failed to deliver even close to the amount of topsoil that was required for the job. I learned my lesson, next time I will go with a professional for a little more money, instead of a guy working out of his garage who is out to bury a nest egg for winter. What a great idea.... rip people off with a end of the season landscaping "deal" and then disappear into a snowplowing business. Thank God my neighbor was around to witness and document everything. If you even remotely want to hire this guy, get everything in detailed writing, because he will just try to do the minimum and con you out of the rest of what he was supposed to do. May this "business" close soon and do WNY a favor.

Mark and Jimmy showed up "by the end of the week," as promised, and stayed until the job was finished to our satisfaction. Because Jimmy was working on a ladder, he sometimes didn't have the line of sight to see when he missed a spot, but was always accommodating about doubling back to redo a section that need a little extra attention. They were kind to our children, and enjoyable to work with. Overall, a terrific experience, and the house looks loads better!

Mark came over on 9/10 to assess what need to be done in the front bed and backyard, we reviewed all the services and when I got home from work on 9/11 everything was done! I would definitely recommend their services moving forward.

Mark came out as promised to provide me with an estimate. He was here on time and was very thorough and gave me several suggestions on how to proceed. His crew came out a few days later, on time and ready to work. They worked diligently and kept me informed of their progress throughout the day.The work they did was excellent and I would not hesitate to contract with them again in the Spring.

When I purchased the deal they were busy, but they were able to schedule within a timely manner. They are family operated business and three people came and did my front beds. They had needed a lot of work that included trimming and cleaning out. They had some time left over and they did my back yard all around my patio as well. They were very nice and did an excellent job.

The crew came before scheduled appointment , what made me very happy, was professional and followed my directions.

They are fantastic and they do great work. I heard about the special so I went with it.

After being ignored by a contractor not on Angies List and looking at ten inches of grass I called Mark and he came out to cut my lawn, removed clippings and edged the lawn the next day. On Mothers Day! He has a strong work ethic and also does beautiful work. I would highly recommend him to anyone in the area.

Basically went well. Even did the back! Used high speed trimmers and broke a number of my solar lights in the gardens. Would use again but be more specific about lights.

The service was very good. They just got done here last week. I am very happy with it. They do a fantastic job.

Within a few days they came out and contacted me with a quote.

I set up an appointment for the $84 service. He continued on at $5 per hour higher to finish up my work. He did a professional job and I will use him again if I need to clean up my yard.

He did a fantastic job. Came home from work and our front/back yards were both cleaned and cut for the end of the season. We had our first baby born that summer so we were very far behind in the upkeep. This service was very much needed and delivered well beyond our expectations. Couldn't be happier.

MAC Services was very professional and did a great job in a timely manner. I was very impressed. I was so happy with their work I hired them to maintain my lawn this summer.

I had a tenant living below me that needed leave early every morning. Although he did say he couldn't be there as early as I requested, whenever I asked them to come out, he didn't show up until 2 to 3 in the afternoon. My drive was drifts with snow terribly, and he was extremely cavalier about it. This morning was bad out, and the driveway is slippery and hard to move around. My 84-year old father had to be walked out with us so he wouldn't fall. It wasn't the best experience. They weren't the best at what they did, and didn't pick up after themselves.

He came every week to cut the lawn as scheduled. He did a great job. He is very reliable and answered all my questions and concerns.

We had a blizzard yesterday and he came to plow for my home. However he did not perform shovel services which was detailed in our contract. I called them about getting this done and he said he wasn't going to do it and I asked about getting my money back, then he proceeded to hang up on me.

They did a good job. I purchased 4 hours labor. He called right away and we made an appointment. I wanted to wait until most of the leaves had fallen. He came out with in a couple of days after a big wind storm. He did everything for the big deal. They did a good job, they were very responsive and he seemed to understand what I was looking for. He offered to recommend people that were closer to me. He was honest and told me what he could do for me. I thought he did a great job. I would use him again.

They did 4 hours of fall cleanup. The phone response was quick, but they were overwhelmed with the response to the Angie's List deals and it took a few days longer than planned. They actually had to hire labor to help with demand. MAC Services did a fine job of getting my yard in decent shape before the snow fell.

The guys were fast and efficient and did excellent work. They came when they said they would and overall are a pleasure to deal with. Will be hiring them again!

Awesome! Did in one hour what would have taken me weeks. They have the right equipment for the job.

Bought the big deal, and then added on four extra hours to clean up the rest of my yard. Nice guys. Would use again.
