+ -1 moreMP Caroll was fantastic to work with. Our floor was damaged and needed to be replaced. We decided to change the color, which then required the stair treads to be sanded and stained to match the new floor. We went with MP Caroll because they had the professionals who could do the floor tear out, installation, and sand and stain the stairs. It was far more convenient than having to hire multiple contractors. I was concerned if they would be able to stain the stairs to match the floors. The new floors were a darker stained white oak and the stairs were red oak. They surpassed expectations. Our new floors and the stained stairs match the floor beautifully. Throughout the process, no matter how many question we posed in person, over the phone, or via email, they were always pleasant and nice. They are first rate. My wife and I highly recommend them. Description of Work: I contacted Buffalo Hardware to learn about resurfacing hardwood floors that were seriously stained. They explained the problems that I would encounter and suggested I consider installing a new hardwood floor. The new floor was a little steep for my budget and I decided to have new wall to wall carpeting installed instead. The sales person I spoke with was very friendly and honest. If I could have afforded a new hard, I would have used this company.

+ 0 moreOverall, they are excellent. They installed hardwood flooring throughout the first floor. They were here on time an two whole days. The quality of work was great ,the employees were polite and good natured. They moved furniture around as needed,then put it back.Overall experience was great.

Description of Work: We are moving to the area from out of state and needed the floors refinished in the home that we bought prior to moving all of our things up. I contacted MP Carroll for an estimate based on pictures of the house. We then wanted to meet with them on the day of our closing to finalize the estimate and move forward with an agreement for them to do the job. We were given an estimate; however were told that in order to secure a meeting with them at the house we would need to give a 25% deposit, equalling about $750.00. I was confused and thought this had something to do with us living out of state so asked if they would require this if I lived in the area. He said that they would and then went on to say that they get so many calls a day for estimates that, if they drove around to everyone's home that wanted an estimate, they would go out of business. I just thanked him and crossed them off my list.Intellectually, I understand the dilemma that they face and probably would have even been OK with a charge to come to the home to provide an esimtate - say $50 to $100 dollars. After all their time is worth something and the price of gas is considerable. I just got the sense that they have more business than they know what to do with and that they werent' really interested in customer service.

+ -1 moreThey were very helpful and I had a pleasant experience with them as well. They were recommended me by my remodeling company. I think they are the biggest name in town. I met with them twice and I felt super comfortable. They don't use subcontractors. They have their own people who do the installation. I am pleased with them. I felt their prices were very competitive. They just seem to know all about floors. They made good recommendations for the stairs. They will finish the work in April. They are extremely professional.
Description of Work: I used M P Caroll Hardwood to do the hardwood flooring in my kitchen in February. They have not finished the flooring yet.

+ -1 moreAll the work was performed very professionally and in a timely manner. Mike Caroll and his crew were open to working with us to give us the floors we wanted. We used a bamboo product from a source that they had not used previously after ordering a carton to see if it met acceptable quality standards. For the cork project they were very open to doing an inlay of a different stain color and allowed us to provide the cork ourselves after we imported it since the desired finish / stain was not available through US suppliers. The crew was very efficient and professional and the quality of the installation was excellent. Joe who did the cork installation was a pleasure to work with as were the bamboo installers although we had less contact with them since it was a more straightforward part of the installation.Mike Caroll came to the site at various stages to look at the progress himself, especially in the initial stages since our home has in-floor radiant heating which made things more complicated. Would definitely use them again in the future or recommend them to others.
Description of Work: MP Caroll did work for us as a subcontractor of Ivy Lea Construction. During Sept and Oct 2011 they removed old carpet and flooring in our house and performed the needed levelling and resurfacing of the concrete slab.We had them install about 1600+ sq ft of bamboo flooring and 700 sq ft of cork in 2 phases.

+ -1 moreThe only negative was with the owner because I had requested a quote the year before but did not have work done then. The following year (2009) I asked for another quote and he was concerned that I might just be "shopping" again. We spoke and the misunderstanding was completely rectified and they immediately quoted again. The workmanship was excellent and the promptness and cleanliness were very good. Again, I would use them again.
Description of Work: Removed old hardwood floor, entry tile and kitchen linoleum and installed high quality hardwood flooring. They did an excellent job. Personnel were very capable, both in quoting job and installing floor. They cleaned up each day and were always on time. I would use them again.
