Description of Work: Called on a Saturday to set up a service call for Monday. Never showed. When I called, he said he forgot to send out the service call and apologized. He sent someone from a different company to look at my washer on Wednesday. This person was terrific. Knew within a minute what was wrong and advised me to buy a new washer, gave me the model to buy and where to purchase it. Very happy with the person who actually came, but not pleased that the repair was delayed due to Ken-Tons error.

Description of Work: I have used their services more than once and each time they were efficient, prompt and very reasonable in the amount they charged.I would highly recommend them. They will not fix something if they feel that it is not in your best interest and that says it all!

While drying a pair of sneakers, one sneaker got wedged between the inner wall of the dryer and one of the baffles, stopping the drum. When I attempted to resume drying, the dryer would not work. As the dryer is only 6 years old, I was despairing that I would have to buy a new one. I went on the internet to see what possibly could be wrong with it. Figuring it was either a broken belt or something to do with a pully (it could have been more extensive than this, I realize but I was going on what the repair website stated) I called three repair companies for a ballpark figure of what this would cost to repair this. My first call was to Buffalo Dryer Repair. They charge $50 for the service call and the guy that answered the phone had no idea what a belt cost--not even a ballpark figure. I find this hard to believe--all he would have to do is pull an invoice and look to get an idea--I could look it up on the internet but Buffalo Dryer was clueless. Orville's in Amherst was my next call. Terri answered the phone, told me it would cost well over the $45 that Ken Ton was charging and that she had NO IDEA what a dryer belt cost. When I tried to ask her if anyone there could give me an idea, she talked over me and said that no one there knew. That's the end of Orville's in my book, despite the fact that I have purchased appliances from them in the past. After waiting 30 minutes and trying the dryer again, it was working fine. Although I never actually needed to use them, Ken Ton is on the top of my list for appliance repair. The mere fact that they were willing to give me the information that I needed was good enough for me.
Description of Work: This gentleman, Jim R., was kind enough to give me a fair cost for a service call over the phone and a rough idea of what it would cost me to have a belt/pulley? replaced--basically under $100. After waiting roughly 30 minutes I tried my dryer again and it worked so I did not actually have to use Ken Ton - But they are on the top of my list. I called Orvilles in Amherst and another company called Buffalo Dryer Repair--both were charging more per service call and both acted like they had no idea what something like this would cost. While I understand that they could not give me exact prices, it mystifies me that they are COMPLETELY oblivious as to a ballpark figure. They do this full time for a living. Ken Ton Washer has been in the business since the 1940s and it is a 3rd generation business. I will DEFINITELY use their services if I ever need to.
