J andD sealtech paved my rather large complex driveway and did an excellent job, Reasonably priced, kept in constant communication, showed up on time and finished on time. Highly recommended. John from North Collins.

Do not hire them! Terribly rude. Contracted them w deposit last year. Never came nor called. When I reached them this year he told me he’d get to it when he could get to it and hind your on me. When they finally came they called me just a week after receiving bill for immediate payment and threaten me with a lien on my business if I didn’t pay. No scruples. No manors. On top of his unprofessional manors it was not a very good job. Rushed. Would never recommend them to anyone. He she gave his business license revoked.

First they broke a water pipe/ drain pipe and didn’t tell me. They just threw all the pieces in the hole and filled it in with dirt. I only found out because I have security cameras. Then the owner called me and said they could put the asphalt down that day so I wouldn’t find out. Before all this I just spent a bunch on finishing my basement by Franks basement and they did an amazing job. But J&D would have ruined my whole basement if I never found out. I have pictures you won’t believe. They told me they were doing my driveway 6 months ago so I paid them and didn’t see them for 6 monthS. I wish you could see the pictures. These guy’s asphalted on my neighbors property! I had to call the building inspector. They didn’t asphalt 5 feet wide where they should have and asphalted on my neighbors lawn where they shouldn’t have! [*** Link removed ***]

NEVER GOT BACK TO ME

Said they would be there by noon, did'nt show up until six pm! Other than that they did an excellent job. Would hire them again, even though they won't show up when they say they will!

I called multiple times, left emails and never had a single reply. It has been almost a month since all my messages were left. Apparently this business has no experience with customer service or simply does not want to earn any money.

Called in early spring of 2016. On May 1st they came out and did an estimate. I gave them a deposit of $200 (check was never cashed). I called many times to find out when the job would be done I finally gave up in August. They are one of the few games in town. They may be good at what they do, but not very customer service oriented. Never had the work done.

Once the work was on the schedule, it was done to my satisfaction. They appeared on schedule, worked continuously without creating a mess and were polite.

I called for weeks trying to get an estimate. Of the 5 times I called they were too busy to talk to me and they claimed they would call me back to schedule an estimate (though honestly the attitude I encountered was 'indifference' at best). I never got a callback and I was always the person to try calling them back. I was so disappointed as this company was recommended to me, and during the time I was hunting them down they did two paving jobs on my street. I worked in the service industry for many years and so I go out of my way to be pleasant and accommodating over the phone, and mindful of other people's work schedules - this company just jerked me around. What's so hard about a common courtesy to say they were too busy to even schedule any estimate right now and then give me an honest estimate as to when they could get to me (e.g., 2 weeks, 3 weeks, etc.). This way we quit wasting each other's time and if their answer doesn't work for me, I'm free to move onto another company and I won't bother them anymore with my hounding phone calls (I found myself apologizing for 'bothering' them because the person on the other end of the phone sounded truly hassled to be talking to me at times). So if you can get them to commit, good for you, but if they don't get back to you after the first phone call, be proactive and move on to the next company (recommend Tuff Kote).

Well they never called back with a quote and no one picks up. I guess they don't need business any more, why be on Angie's list then? I don't get it, just call back when someone (a client) leaves a voice mail. How hard can it be.

They do not do concrete, they only do paving. He gave me an estimate on the paving, and referred me to a guy to do the concrete work. It turned out that the guy was his cousin, who was very unresponsive.

I did all of my dealings with this company by phone and was extremely happy with their work and professionalism. Jand D's sent me a written estimate after passing by to see my driveway, which meant I didn't have to sit around and wait for someone to come to give me an estimate. I accepted the price and sent them back the signed agreement, and we arranged by phone for them to come and do the work while I was out of town. When I came back from my trip the driveway was done. It looks very neat and thoroughly done and they left no mess. I'm very happy with their work.

Jand D's was the cheapest estimate I received but that wasn't the primary reason I chose him. The biggest reason I chose to use his services over others was because he was planning on using a steam roller on the driveway instead of simply handing tamping it smooth. Second he gave me a discount on choosing him + the asphalt removal which other contractors added on for $300+ while Jand D's only added a flat $200. He also seemed the most genuine - he always called me back, never played phone tag, didn't try to upsell me on different work like a full tear out, replacing with concrete, etc. But still remained honest about the longevity of the resurfaced driveway with an expectation of 10-20 years "before it looks like this again". He runs a tight ship, he takes all the phone calls personally instead of having a secretary. I'm sure this was one of the factors that lets him keep prices low. Some folks might take that as a negative, depending on their point of view. But I respected his work ethic and enthusiasm for his own business even though he hasn't been doing it for 30+ years like some others. On the day of install, he brought quite the serious operation. From the dump truck, the flat bed with the steam roller, to the crew of 6 guys. The new coat of asphalt was compacted down extremely well with the steam roller though it was a bit unnerving to have my house shake the way it did! But I don't think this asphalt is going anywhere anytime soon. I'm glad my driveway looks new and even again. It's been a nearly 6 months and I am still not seeing any dips in the asphalt from parking our cars, it looks the same way it did he installed. I can also now cut wood on saw horses without worrying about it wobbling and killing myself with a circular saw anymore. My only criticisms are he delayed my install day twice from what seemed like scheduling problems around other jobs and/or weather. His crew had a mixture of level of professionalism ranging from young hulking guys who worked hard but also entertained themselves on the job, to guys who have been doing it all their lives and took their job very seriously. I think you'd have to expect that for this line of work. I definitely got my money's worth and looking forward to having him seal the driveway next year. Highly recommend.
