They were prompt and the price was very fair.

I use them a lot. The basement level floor was cold and they gave me some free advise on how to solve it and it totally solved my problem. I did not have a return down there and they said if I cut a rectangle on the side of the return side of my furnace and put a vent there and in the hall way I put another spot in the wall where the air can get through the wall for a vent, it will create a return in the basin and solved the problem. They said you can’t keep rushing air in the basing without removing air out.

They did a pretty good job. It was not a simple procedure. It was excellent. I was even going to have them come back probably this year to repair a slight leak on my water shutoff. Their price was real good. Their quality was real good and they said if I had a problem they would be right back. It was a young guy in his 20's, but you could tell once he started he knew what he was doing. His father and grandfather were also plumbers. They came out in two days because I did not have an emergency. He called me the day he was coming, which surprised me. He was real professional and this guy was really good.

So I needed to replace a gas wall heater for my tenants apartment. These guys answered every call, were very pleasant and gave me a fair price. They were my second choice as I ended up going with another guy who was about $150 cheaper and he ended up doing a fantastic job. I would use these guys in the future.

The bathtub was draining slowly and I wanted correct that before I had a more serious problem. A plumber was at my home less than 1 hour after I called for service. He was professional, polite and cleaned up when finished with the job. Total time at my home was approximately 45 minutes.

Workers removed old plumbing (about 65 yrs. old) and replaced with new, plastic material. It took several days. Workers were careful not to damage wallpaper. Once completed, pressure was amazingly increased! Seven holes had been made in ceiling to access pipes between floors. A plasterer was recommended by HH & he did a fine job repairing ceiling for a reasonable price (about $300.) Because pressure increased in pipes throughout, I no longer worry about freezing lines in upstairs bathroom. I can leave town and not worry or have to let water drip while gone to prevent freezing.

It seemed fine. It wasn’t more than I thought it would be. They got out there quick. They gave me a good estimate. I have nothing negative to say about them. I would probably use them to get the job done.

The plumber showed me that the pipe I thought was OK was badly corroded on the side that was against the wall. There is no doubt that this pipe would have burst in the near future.

I m not the type of person would write review because I usually don't get a very impressive service, but I have to this time because this company is amazing!! My sewer drain was clogged, water backed up from bathtub and toilet won't flush. I called them and they set up appointment for me the very next day early morning to repair the sewer line. The plumber Jim worked very hard, sweat all over forehead but never took a break! Very polite and very professional! He also cleaned up the bathroom mess for me after the job done! I couldn't ask for better service! Owner called me after the job done and told me they were accidentally overcharged me by mistake on my bill and made a refund immediately. I wouldn't know that if she didn't call me, she is very honest and polite! I love this service! Thank you sooooooo much :).

The gentlemen that came answered all my questions and I was very pleased with the service.

This is not the first time Hertel H & P has done work in my home. Each time they were prompt, reliable, and reasonable. Jon and Jordon were efficient and knowledgeable. Jason will be servicing my furnace/AC as well as replacing an Aprilaire filter that was installed incorrectly last year by a competitor and leaked profusely when I turned the humidifier on. Never again! Lastly, Tony, the manager, anticipated that I would have some flooding problems in basement last year during that snow melt. He called to send someone out that day rather than have me wait for my scheduled service date to address problems with water backing up in basement. He was right! Had I waited, the outcome would have been catastrophic . Hertel H&P is my go to place for all things plumbing related.

I am so pleased with Hertel Hardware and Plumbing !! Jon and Jordan arrived at exactly the time they quoted . They even called first ! Both men were courteous, respectful and professional. These qualities are difficult to find and so important ! As I said , they replaced new pipes under my bathroom sink and installed a new faucet. This service was all done in 1 hour! When the job was completed they cleaned the whole area. Jon took the extra time to inform me that if something seems wrong to call them right away and they will come out. I am more than satisfied with Hertel Hardware and Plumbing. In fact, I have scheduled an appointment next week to have a new hot water tank installed ! Thank you for your wonderful service !!

They were amazing. They were wonderful. Their prices are fair and their people are friendly. The whole experience was a real shock to me because I have used other plumbers that were very unprofessional and very expensive. I would tell the other members that their people are very professional. They wasted no time. They showed up on time and they cleaned up. I had several things done. They took care of everything. They were just incredible. It’s hard to find people like that.

They did a great job. They had a solution that was more economical and superior to the other bids. They understand the house type and latest solutions. I love them!

As usual, Jim did not disappoint. He was on time & got right to the job on hand. Within 1/2 hour he had completed both sinks & cleaned up as well. I found him to be very efficient at what he does & is very respectful & polite. This guy deserves a raise! Hertel Hardware will continue to be my "go to" plumbing service!

He did a great job. He knew exactly what the problem was when he came in and saw the situation. He explained how to prevent the situation in the future. He was very professional and mannerly.

They’re really not expensive. They guarantee their work, were kind and friendly. I would recommend them.

I called because I had a sudden leak in my basement causing a spectacular leak that looked like a sprinkler spraying on my lawn. I have to admit I couldn't remember where the water shut off was in my house which I admit to so you realize how dependent I am on other people to fix things in my house. I called and I think they felt sorry for me - they had someone in my area who was able to be at my house within 45 minutes! He located a tiny hole in a tube providing water to my humidifier and replaced it. He politely showed me where the water shut off is in my house (oh, yeah, I remember now!) He gave me the $3 Angie's List discount without my asking for it. The breakdown of the bill is as follows: service call $49.95. That is consistent with service call charges I've had in the past. The repair was $52.50. Small amount for tax. I feel that is a reasonable charge to quickly resolve a very wet problem. I hire a lot of people to repair things and I believe I have a realistic view of what things cost to have someone else provide repair services. I will call Hertel again.

After calling them back, Hertel acknowledged the mistake, but offered zero discount for the trouble. This issue took much of my time as each time that they visited, I had to help coordinate with the tenant. The deal they offered was to go remove the sump pump and reinstall the old one since it was still working to some degree (pump running continuously). Instead, they ripped out the old one and never installed the old potentially exposing the property and me to thousands in damage should have the basement filled up with water. Fortunately, I came back into town the next morning, picked up a solid pump at Home Depot for $150 and installed it in minutes. Same yourself a lot of trouble and use a different plumber for your home or rental properties. This type of customer service is horrendous.

Service was excellent, timely and reasonably priced. First, they came for a service call in December or so and diagnosed a leak that we had under the kitchen sink. He patched up the disposal and said that it would hold for the time-being but that we would need to replace the disposal. He then quoted a price for doing so. Roughly two months later, as he predicted, the disposal started leaking again, so we called to have the replacement done. The only reason I am giving a "B" rather than "A" for price is because they charged $25 more than the original quote to replace. But it was still reasonable and appears to have been good quality work.

Seemed like a lot of money to snake a drain and a 3-day wait for "regular rates" is too long to wait. Called them given all of the positive reviews on Angie's List.

They cleaned up after themselves. I was very pleased.

I called them back to fix the problem. Initially, they said that they could not fix the problem without charging me. Also, if they came out that day it would be an emergency plumbing job since there was flooding in the area so there would be extra charges. However, I needed the work so I told them to come out anyways. The service man named Mike came out earlier than expected and did not charge me for anything. He replaced the flapper and adjusted the chain to fix the problem. I was very pleased.

They guarantee their work. There was a leak from upstairs to downstairs in the ceiling. We did not know where the leak was coming from. I tried doing it myself, I could not find the leak so I called this guy at Hertel Plumbing and they came out and they said that they cannot find a leak so we do think it is the caulk around the tub. They did the caulking and charged me like $90. It was guaranteed for 30 days and when I got them back out they said that we told you not to use the shower for 24 hours and it looks like they used the shower and got the caulk wet, so we are going to charge you another $38 to redo it. We were not sure if it was coming from that apartment or another apartment. I got another guy over there and he found a different spot. I paid him and he got it done and it was great. What they did with the caulk they did good, it was just the money thing that bothered me.
