Our upstairs toilet started leaking around the wax seal when flushed so we called after 5 on Monday. They called us early the next morning with an estimated time. They were able to make it a little earlier than the estimate. The work was done quickly. He also explained that there was an issue with our floor that was potentially causing the problem. I was extremely satisfied with the service and the price.

I called in a panic as my tenant said that their tap had been leaking for a week (and I pay the water bills!) They called me back quickly, arranged a visit and fixed the problem and invoiced me promptly. The problem did not end up being a very long or difficult one - they had to replace the aerator in the faucet but this was performed quickly and was very reasonable call out charge. I will definitely use them again

We called in the AM after discovering the old water heater had died over night. They were able to install a new water heater the afternoon of the same day. I have used them for other plumbing and boiler related jobs and they are always professional, punctual and their prices are extremely reasonable.

They arrived about half an hour late but had the old tub out and the area cleaned up in about one and a half hours. Including lunch and a supply run the job took six hours. They were very thorough in checking the drain and answering any questions. The cost was about a third of what some glamour plumbers wanted.

Quick response, fast and polite. I offered to assist him in carrying the new tank in and the old tank out, but he insisted that he could do it alone which he did.

It want very well overall. I was surpised that it was completed within a half an hour and the shower was as good as new. The worker Mike R. took off the shower head and cleaned it out. There were rusty peices of pipes that was preventing the water from running. I am very happy with the work and will use Hertle Hardware again.

Overall we are very satisfied. Hertel Hardware performed the service with skill and for the prices they said it would be. No hidden fees or anyting like that. We will definitley use them again

They were very good. I liked them a lot. They walked you through the job and quoted me a decent price. They were always quick to get someone out.

We got estimate from a bunch of people and we liked the toilet they recommended. They are local, we can walk in and talk to them face to face. We don't have to call them, we can just walk in and tell them what the problem is and they will come by. The toilet he did in the basement was a total work of art. There was no mounting, just a hole in the concrete. He did a super job. We have a big job for them lined up.

I asked the company to fix a leak in in the diverter of my shower. Hertel Hardware and Plumbing came to my house to look at the problem and give me an estimate to fix the issue. I was told that they needed to order a parts kit for the diverter valve and he was not sure how long they would take to come in and that I should call him periodically to see whether the parts ever arrived. I did this several times, but no parts ever arrived. I eventually gave up. Hertel Hardware and Plumbing never called me back about the parts or fixing the issue. I ordered the parts for the valve myself and they were sent to me within a week, entirely free of charge. So I do not understand why hertel hardware never followed up on this job.

The damage to landscaping, disregard for a timely solution was frustrating. Work was finished in April our landscaping was restored in November. All they had to do was put down plywood sheets when they dug up the front yard and 75% of the issue would have never happened. Leaving concrete chunks and stones all over was not exactly cleaning up as well as damage caused to nearby items.

Hertal installed a hot water heater in my home. They did a good job, and did what they said they would. I am satisfied with their service, and would use them again.

The men came did the work quickly and properly.

It was a tragic comedy. They really screwed up, but I give them an A+ and will use them again. Why? Because THEY FIXED THEIR MISTAKE. We all mess up. Nobody’s perfect. I make mistakes in my work, you do in yours, but how many people have THE HUMILITY AND SMARTS TO RECOGNIZE THE CUSTOMER’S PERSPECTIVE AND MAKE THINGS RIGHT? Hertel Plumbing does. I called this firm to install a water powered backup sump pump. The result was a Rube Goldberg machine. . . a giant Tinker toy. . .bright blue pipe strung cockeyed crooked all over the ceiling and side of the room. It looked like someone let loose with a giant can of Silly String! Should I laugh or cry? It wasn’t just funny/ugly, but long sections of plastic pipe stuck out unfastened, into the room. (It’s supposed to be fastened every 32”.) The first dog or kid or girlfriend who bumps into it would cause a flood. . .the very flood a backup is to prevent. (Kind of like taking a pill for an ailment, and you see that that ailment on the list of side effects!) I sent the company pictures, including a video. I was scared when I *thought* the office manager said in an email that they didn’t see anything wrong with their work. However, she didn’t say that. When I listened to a voice mail message she said that the owner couldn’t get enough information from the picture and wanted to come in to look at the work personally. (I had just seen the results of a study that day, that said that 50% of email messages convey the wrong mood. . .this was a good example!) The owner reviewed the work, was verbally kind to the plumber, but did validate my opinion. He sent a different plumber who took 4 hours to restring the pipe and relocate the sump pumps. Not only that, the second plumber ran into problems that made his life difficult, namely, my sump pump cavity has no floor . . .only mushy clay and roots. (No fault of theirs . . . that’s the way the house is.) Angie’s list comes through again! (Oh, and I used an Angie's coupon too.)

some wIt didn't take us long to see they sent someone without much plumbing experience as he had to pull out instructions of "How to install a Moen Faucet" Both my husband and son know how without instructions, but lacked the proper expensive tools to do it. Also, while working my husband asked him where he attended school or where he went for training, he replied no where. When he was finished, my husband went upstairs and briefly checked that both hot and cold water ran and when faucet was turned off, there were no leaks. After he left, my husband went upstairs to clean things up. First thing he saw was black sealant visible more than 1/4 inch around the drain. It was disgusting. He ran the water and it didn't drain. The drain opening was about 1/8 " and he couldn't run the water to even brush his teeth as the sink filled up instantly. We called the Co. and explained our problem. She was very polite and stated someone would be back in a few days. After 3 days, I got a call from the young man while he was on the road and running late. He actually attempted to tell me, that that was the way it was supposed to be. Not sure he was feeding me crap because I am a woman,or was that stupid, or was really trying not to come. I was a little angry, but didn't lose my cool. I was very firm and told him the water did not drain. Couldn't believe he once again attempted to avoid coming. Finally, he said, ok, I'll be there in 30 minutes. He came and my husband showed him the problem; that the drain was installed improperly. My husband was frustrated because he could have fixed it himself, but is disabled. He had installed the drainer wrong. Also, my husband had him clean up his big black mess. It is working fine, but not worth the trouble of dealing who had very little experience and even worse gave me such a hard time about coming back and installing the drain properly. This Co. may employ certified plumbers, or at least some with experience. I will never use this Co.; Hertel Hardware again. CONCETTA IVERSEN

He showed up exactly as scheduled. He determined that there was a clog in our downstairs toilet and quickly snaked it out. He adjusted the upstairs toilet so that the handle no longer gets stuck. He was in and out in a half hour. We were very happy with everything including the price.

My kitchen faucet was old and leaky. I purchased a replacement but needed someone to install it. I called this company based on prior Angie's List reviews and was not disappointed. They called before they came to see if they could come a few minutes early. They arrived on at the time we agreed to and did a great job installing the faucet. I also asked if they were able to retrieve an earring that had fallen down a bathroom sink drain, which they very nicely agreed to do. Everything took just under an hour to complete. There was a question on the invoice as the hourly rate was different that what I had originally been told when I scheduled the appointment. They explained it was because two people came instead of one. When I questioned that, they were very polite and professional. After making a call back to the company, they reduced the invoice to reflect the hourly rate that was initially agreed upon.

They came on time. Explained what needed to be done. Cleaned the line out 2 times then cleaned up after the work they did. Then they gave me their recommendation for how to maintain the line to prevent back ups. Very happy with Alberto & James

The folks are professional and pleasant, from the first call to the installer. I made a mistake in not requesting a quote and was a little shell shocked at the price on the bill.... Moral, check the price before the install... The good news is we have hot water...

They are really good but they are definitely on the pricey side.

I had a very good experience with this company. I telephoned from New Jersey and requested that the company provide an estimate to repair the upstairs toilet (located in Buffalo, NY) because the toilet was leaking to the downstairs bathroom whenever it was flushed. I authorized the company to replace the toilet with a new toilet if it was necessary. The representative immediately provided me with approximate estimates to repair or replace the toilet. The work commenced in a very timely manner and was completed on the same day. The old toilet was repaired. My downstairs tenant reported that the upstairs toilet no longer leaks when it is flushed.

They arrived on time and did a good job.

They mentioned that they didn’t do waterproofing, but they did do plumbing. I was looking to do a couple of fairly simple plumbing tasks in the basement. So, they basically came out and did the assessment for the plumbing. However, I need to get the waterproofing done before I can get the washtubs in. They quoted me around $300 to put the washtubs in and to do the faucets as well as plumbing. The guy who came out was very personable. I definitely would expect to do business with him again. He gave me some tips regarding the plumbing done there, which was helpful. He was very responsive. He was right there and I didn’t have to wait a long time for him. He is definitely someone I would consider doing business with.
