+ -1 moreThey cancelled the first appointment. ("Scheduling snafu") One woman blamed the other who was "filling in". OK, I am still giving them the benefit of a doubt. Could not reschedule for several days. (In the meantime, these hornets are driving me crazy and reproducing!) The exterminator was late without calling. . .aoubt 20+ minutes. I had to call to find out where he was. He "forgot his materials" and had to go back and returned 1/2 hour later. He was a nice man and did a good job.
Description of Work: Remove hornet nest under the eaves.

Description of Work: We were having a problem with ants in the house due to the wet weather. I checked Angie's list for a recommendation and settled on Empire Exterminating. They couldn't schedule an appt. for several days, but were prompt when the day came. The serviceman was very friendly and professional. He checked inside and out, determined that the ants were coming in from outside and set several traps inside in the areas were most of the ants were seen. He also set several outside and said he would be back to check on the outside ones to make sure they weren't coming in again. To the best of my knowledge, he never came back. If he did, he did so without informing me or leaving a note. The inside ants took longer to disappear than I was told and several re-appeared a few weeks later, but eventually all were gone. I was only so-so impressed with this company and would probably look elsewhere if I had a recurrance that required the services of an exterminator.

+ -1 moreI was a little disappointed that they didn't follow through on their promise for the follow up but since then we haven't experiences any problems with ants or moths.
Description of Work: When I originally scheduled them for carpenter ant exterminations months earlier, they told me they would return in early summer for a free follow-up application. In the meantime we experienced a moth problem so I called to schedule a time for them to treat the moths. They apologized for missing the ant follow-up and then treated for both ants and moths.

+ -1 moreAfter an unsatisfactory experience last year with another company, we contacted Empire State Exterminating. The entire experience was completely satisfactory. Both men (the inspector and the applicator) were professional, courteous and prompt. Although we can't be sure that the treatment was entirely successful, we have noticed a vast improvement in ant activity. With follow-up applications scheduled for later this year, I hope that our carpenter ant problem will be controlled.
Description of Work: Steve did a complete home inspection for carpenter ants. After completing the inspection he met with us to explain what he found and the treatment he proposed. We accepted the proposal and scheduled and appointment for treatment. Two days later Sean, a company technician, arrived to administer the first treatment. A second and third treatment were scheduled for later this year.
