Not very good.
Description of Work: Built a new home with him this year. Lost some shingles in the recent wind storm. The project manager said they would replace them - am still waiting. Also still waiting for the back steps which were supposed to be in months ago.

The questions above don't really apply to my situation. For example, I won't be able to discern the quality until they finish the job. That being said, several months ago I did report holes in the cement floor, one that appears to me to be conducive to or representative of rodent habitation, and one that appears to have been a work boot impression. Since then I've found many more holes, but with the house unfinished, I can't be sure whether or not they will put my flooring over them as is or not. They say they will fix and smooth the cement before putting down the flooring, but based on my experience with them so far, I can't be confident that will happen. There are also a couple of nails in the cement floor in the laundry room that have been bent over and if not pulled, I can picture nearly an instant hole in the linoleum. Addendum: last time I was there, the nails had been straightened and were standing up, still in place. I signed a purchase agreement on December 2, 2014 and I supplied earnest money ($10,000 + the cost of the options that I chose) less than 2 weeks later hoping to move in sometime in the spring. I certainly understood that there was nothing done on the building over the never-ending heavy winter, but once it was framed sometime between March 11 and March 26, I anticipated closing sometime in June. Their history since has been hurry up and do a little bit, then stop, sometimes for time periods that can now be measured in months. My contact is the sales agent, and I have never had any satisfactory answers about possible completion times. Exception: May or June 2015 was mentioned in my initial conversation. At my last visit with her, August, seeing no progress at the time, I mentioned the possibility of putting one of the TV consumer action groups on the task, and her response was that there is no date listed in the purchase agreement - in other words, "too bad, you don't have a leg to stand on." I also told her at that meeting that sometime in July I had said to myself, "surely I'll be in by October." She said nothing. Will she say nothing if I were to go to her today and say that I must be settled in before Spring 2016? She did give me a couple of e-mail addresses that I could write to, but by then, my energy was sapped, it seemed apparent that I would get nowhere, and I took no further action. I finally found some energy and wrote to them on Dec. 3, 2015 with some simple direct requests for documentation that should be readily available. Except for an automated response saying that I would hear from them the next business day, I've heard nothing. Communication, rather lack thereof, is a persistent problem. They never contact me about progress or delays, and when I ask for such information, or a ballpark date so that I can make plans, there's none to be had. This is clearly not an organization that has a clue about behaving in a professional manner. I'm learning a good deal on my own about what is likely the situation. At the August meeting, the sales rep pointed out a one-page, one sentence handwritten document contained in my purchase agreement that indicated this agreement was pending approval by the NYS Attorney General. She made no indication at that time or any other time how much that little statement meant. I assumed that it was something that they were in the habit of handling and it would simply be taken care of in the normal course of events. It now seems that it has affected not only the timing of the build but also my ability to obtain a mortgage through normal channels. I'm next pursuing that question with the Attorney General. As with most moves, I'm not the only one affected by their behavior. I'm renting from my daughter right now, and she won't put her house up for sale until I'm out. There is some tension about that between us. I wouldn't be surprised if the others who are waiting for units in my building have more dramatic issues than I in that regard, and I suppose I should consider myself lucky. I hesitate to send this review, because I don't want to move in, already the troublemaker, but frankly, I've had enough of going about my business as if I didn't have a project to the tune of nearly a quarter of a million dollars hanging out there in never never land. In fact, it's more and more difficult to go about my business wondering what block of time I need to set aside for closing and moving. I continue to hope that I will be as happy with the result, once this painful process is over, as those people who will be my neighbors are. That's pretty much what I'm holding on to right now. They tell me that the homes are sound, and once in, any problems are taken care of immediately.
Description of Work: They're building my home, a condo unit at Villas at Brierwood.

Description of Work: This is a home builder in the Greater Buffalo NY area. We were looking for suitable housing to downsize for retirement. We investigated several possibilities, and found a development being built by David Home Builders. The homes were of superb design, we witnessed several in different stages of construction and found the materials and workmanship to be of the highest quality. Their representatives were also very helpful and receptive to our questions and to the options we wanted. In short our experience with them was very positive. Although we have delayed our plans to move this year, we will definitely look to David Builders in the near future to see if they have a development that's right for us. The home we looked at was perfect.
