Originally we had asked only for the dryer outlet. When they arrived we sprung the others on them. They were very kind and did the work right then. The only complaint I have is that they were supposed to do the work on a Monday, but called and said they were running late and asked to reschedule. They came the next day. Considering we changed our minds and asked for additional services after they arrived I see how they could have been late the previous day.
Description of Work: Added 30amp dryer outlet, 4 additional outlets, and changed a broken outlet (no charge).

RUDE, OVERPRICED - GLAD I DON'T NEED TO PUT UP WITH CONTRACTORS ....
Description of Work: I have used Angie's list for almost 10 years so I'm not new at this. First, I asked for a quote to run a new line in an open ceiling of a basement from one room to the next. I was quoted "in the $200 range". That seemed high for 1 new circuit breaker run to an existing outlet but not entirely outrageous as they would have had to drill through the joists. Then I asked what it would cost to add a dual 15A breaker and move the wires connecting a whole house surge protector from 2 circuits in the SAME box to the new breaker - this consists literally of unscrewing 2 wires, pulling them out of the current breakers, inserting them into the new breakers and tightening the 4 screws involved back down. Another electrician from a different Angie's list company told me it was maybe a 5 minute job max (I didn't have the breaker on hand or he would have done it for me then). These guys wanted $50 labor charge for a 5 minute add on to an existing job - that works out to $600 per Hour ($50 times 12 five minute periods in an hour). I could see the charge if they had to travel & do this separately but they were already going to have the box open, snap in another breaker, and have their screw driver out to use on another screw. When I pointed this out, I was told they don't "need to put up with peoples crap!" ( DIRECT QUOTE, IN WRITING MIND YOU). Was going to hire them until that. Such a shame the owner is so bad as one of their electrician's who I did meet seemed really nice & competent - if I were them I would find someone else to work for if he treat's potential customers that way.

Response from D & P Electrical Services Inc.
We went out to service an electrical problem at the [Member's name removed] residence on June 23 2013, for a home warranty company. After we located the problem and notified [Member's name removed] and the warranty company of what we found it was determined that the problem was not covered. At that point [Member's name removed] asked us for a price on the cost of the repairs and we gladly gave her a quote. [Member's name removed] was completely satisfied with myself and my workers at this point and stated so. The next time I heard from [Member's name removed] was on July 11th , 2013 she stated to me that she had lost our original she which showed what we found and asked me if I could email her a copy of it I replied with a yes I can and did exactly that. The next time I heard from [Member's name removed] was on July 16th, 2013 she sent me another email asking me to give her a quote on performing some other work at her residence I quoted her a price of $60.00. The next email that I received from her on the same day had the following as a message (“Thanks but at $480/hour (assuming it even takes 5 minutes to unscrew 2 wires & re-screw 2 more), I’ll take care of the surge myself.”) Now I never told her the length of time that it would take or the break down at what the breakers would cost or the fact that once I touch it I assume responsibility for it so I decided to email her again and try to explain this to her. So I explained what the cost of the parts were and stated that if called out just for that project it would be an hour to do with travel time. I mentioned that to her because I couldn’t and still can’t see how she can determine that because she feels it is a five minute job that she can make the assumption that I charge 4,5, or 600 an hour. The following is an excerpt from her next email ( I’m confused by the $50 in labor to take 5 minutes to snap in the new breaker, unscrew the wires from the old ones and screw it in to the new breaker while he’s already here. And you are correct, at $50 labor for 5 minutes of additional work, it’s $600 per hour not $480 – don’t you just love dealing with an accountant.............). At this point I can see that she has nothing more on her mind than to try and belittle me and my company and most likely my employees once on the job site, so I sent her another email stating to her that she can do the complete job herself for all I care and then at the end I put as a response to her little accountant remark (don’t you love dealing with someone who doesn’t need to put up with peoples crap). I will say this while that may seem like a little harsh of a response remember respect has to work both ways don’t be condescending on people then be shocked when they say so long because they don’t want to put up with garbage. Finally I can supply dozen s of references for not just me, but my entire company to anyone who request them, unfortunately with sites like this most people are not going to jump up here and pay two or three dollars to praise someone and the ones that do usually are using the site for other reasons already however people sure don’t mind paying a couple bucks if they feel as if they can trash someone so don’t let this one review sway you and give us a call and decide for yourself how we did.
