Owner came out and looked at job, had some good ideas, but said job was too small but he had employees in my area and said he would send me a quote. I called 2 x's and never received an answer nor a quote !

If I could give no stars, I would. We received a quote for a raised patio and addl concrete pad along the garage. The quote was fair and we signed a contract for "raised patio and pad". Fast forward a year, we have the sales associate come out to quote us on extending the pad and - low-and-behold - the pad wasn't included in the original quote?! The pad referred to in the quote was apparently the step to the raised patio? The steps are quoted separately?! Forgive my misunderstanding, but I would have thought that the steps up to a raised patio would have been all one price. Raised patio without steps? Anyway, he quotes us on the original pad and it's $800 or bust with the explanation of - "I'm human and there's a lot of dogs and babies in the office". I recognize people make mistakes, but when you provide a quote, and you make a mistake, I am of the opinion you should own said mistake. I'm not saying he should do it for nothing, but I don't have $800 laying around to throw at someone who is too busy with dogs and babies to complete a quote. Not to mention, we did receive other quotes and chose them based on the job we proposed. And, as if that's not enough, the patio wasn't what we discussed. I was very clear that I wanted the patio at the same height as the existing deck and yet, he took it upon himself to add a step down from the house. No phone call, no discussion, just throws a step down where I said I didn't want one. Maybe there was a reason for it - but I should have been told that on the onset. I was told I would get my deposit back, and upon my request there was no attempt to reconcile or understand why I was asking for it back. I'm not saying they should beg for my business, but I cancelled a $6k job that I waited a year for and they have no investment in us? Are they getting that many requests for deposit returns that it's not worth their time to find out why? YIKES! Needless to say, their unprofessionalism is profound. I definitely dodged a bullet on this one.

Excellent work, on time and on budget. Very competitive price. Entire crew is customer focused, friendly, professional and flexible. Foreman worked with me to assure I was happy with the layout before he constructed the forms. Price was very competitive. Will definitely use again. Getting compliments from neighbors and friends on the patio.

One of the best decisions I made was choosing Broad Spectrum for this job. The job was overseen by one of the company’s owners due to the complication of the slope and layout of the driveway as well as the garage floor, which unfortunately was not built in a conventional manner. I had quotes from other companies but never felt comfortable with any of them and it wasn’t because of cost, although some were outrageously expensive. It was the approach they would take with the driveway and the garage. I waited for several years until a neighbor, as well as an old friend, told me about their recent concrete work completed by Broad Spectrum. I phoned the company and Jim Broad came out in a timely manner and spent a good deal of time explaining /discussing how the work would be completed. Once started, the job was completed in less than 2 full days and there were several follow up visits by other company employees, one of which was to seal all the concrete that was laid down. Two years later, and everything still looks great.

We were contacted a 6 days in advance and the crew of six or seven men arrived to remove the old floor. They worked extremely well as a crew and completed the removal in a very noisy 3- 4 hours. The next day they returned and poured the new floor. Over all, I was impressed with how well they worked together to complete the job in as short a time possible without sacrificing high quality results. The crew was friendly and professional, answering any question I had and keeping me informed of what they were doing and why. Clean-up was good considering what a messy job it was. I would highly recommend this company and would call them for any other task in the future.

9-7-17 I am very satisfied with Broad Spectrum Concrete and I definitely recommend this company. Eight years ago (in the summer of 2009) Broad Spectrum poured my driveway. Eight years later (in July of 2017) I discovered a discrepancy and noticed that I didn’t exactly get what was written in the 2009 contract. This was nothing more than an honest mistake made by the job site foreman back in 2009. Broad Spectrum completely, 100% rectified this EIGHT year old mistake. This says a lot about how hard this company works to help its customers. Greg T.

My overall experience with them was excellent.

They took out my old driveway and installed a new one, which included widening and changing from asphalt to concrete. They also laid down drainage tiles, removed the old garage floor, and matched everything around the perimeter of the garage. Around back, they installed a stamped concrete patio. That included removing pavers and concrete divider. It was 10 by 20 all told. There were little imperfections in stamped concrete but it was so minor, I almost hesitate to mention it. He even told me to call him back if I had any problems. They were excellent.

Not well; they kept "stringing us along" about when the job would be started. On 9/2/15 we were told that the job would likely be done in "early October". On October 8th, we were told that it was not likely until the end of the month. After October passed, we called and we were told that they had stopped pouring for the year. The question is, WHY DIDN'T THEY CALL US? and tell us that they were delaying until the next year? We called again on April 5th and we were then told that they thought that it would be in 3 weeks. We called again 3 weeks later and then were told that it would happen sometime in May. Finally, THEY called May 5th and told us that they planned on doing the job on May 11th. From then on, everything went great [except for a small glitch on May 11th when the concrete plant apparently broke down, delaying the actual pouring until the next morning]. The additional working coloring, stamping the decorative pattern, power-washing and sealing went as planned. The personnel on the job were GREAT. They kept us informed and did a great job of protecting the grass and cleaning up.

Beautiful patio, stairs, and driveway. Such a tremendous difference. The decorative border was a beautiful touch to the patio and they did that at no additional cost. They provided all services needed to get the job done including disconnecting air conditioning and reconnecting when the job was complete by a licensed electrician. They removed all debris. During estimate Jim provided me with suggestions to help make the patio visually pleasing while keeping the cost down for me. I had 3 estimates and they were the most professional, most affordable, and offered me the best service for my money.

Went like clock work from start to finish.

They were great and very professional. They really knew what they were doing, you could tell that they were experts and not a bunch of trainees out on the job. I would definitely recommend them to other members.

They are excellent. I am using them again and he is coming to give me an estimate. He is going to give me an evaluation on a garage pad and some other work that needs to be done around the house, maybe a foundation thing but I don’t know yet. I like the quality of their work and the professionalism. It is one of the few companies that asked me to evaluate them. It is a formal evaluation which I did do, and I don’t know of any company that has ever asked me to do that before. They are really good.

I went with a different contractor who did smaller jobs.

The estimate was right in line with what I had anticipated. They had a crew of 5 who completed the work in one day.

The owner took the time to carefully lay out, design, and supervise the entire project. I wish all home improvement projects were this painless.

It went great. They answered all questions that I had and adjusted the plan 3 times to give us what we wanted. They arrived on time and performed all tasks as advertised by the salesman. They did a beautiful job and I would strongly recommend them to others.

I had a dyed stamped concrete patio installed to replace the original deck in my backyard. My patio consists of 3 large steps down from my back door (my wooden deck used to be elevated) to the surface of the patio. The steps were installed in a separate pour (eg a dedicated trip from the concrete supply truck) so the very heavy steps and flat patio are separated by a thin expansion joint. This is the correct way to incorporate the large steps into the patio so there are not later issues with cracking at the stair/flat patio joint (which is much more likely to happen if the entire patio was made as a single pour if the patio was poured with a cheaper single concrete delivery). The 6 man crew was very friendly and productive and took care to not cause any unnecessary damage to my lawn and yard. The job was impressive to watch, my patio was installed in the afternoon as this was this crew's second concrete job that day. The first day after the pour someone came buy to pressure wash the deck, cut the joints and did the accent staining to my patio border. The second day after the pour the last guy sealed the concrete (I wasn't home for these last 2 visits but everything was smooth from my perspective) The guy who gave me the original quote was at my house on time and spent probably a half hour with me not only measuring the site, giving me his recommendations on color, size, etc, but also educated me on the concrete process and giving me some key things to ask and look for if I were to get competitive bids. I had a verbal quote from him a few hours after the visit and I had a paper quote in hand in one or two days. The quote I got was competitive to my other quote and was actually a bit lower in price. Due to the wet spring/summer we had to wait probably a month before they were able to get to my job, but the weather was not their fault, and in a way the fact that they are so busy is actually a testament to the quality of business that they are running. I'm a very satisfied customer, I would definitely recommend this company to anyone looking to have concrete work done.

Impressive. These guys were here at 6:45 and never took a break until after 9:00 because they had to wait for the cement truck. A crew of 5 guys and they all knew what they were doing. Two stayed at the end to do the coloring and stamping and were very pleasant to chat with. They let me take pictures without any hassle and no mess left behind. Not a single cigarette butt could be found. I even had some coffee and water (hot day) and they were very appreciative. They'll be back for my driveway very soon.

Excellent contractor. The estimator was timely and very helpful. Explained their process and lead time. Great scheduling and call(s) before the work started. Worked very well with other contractors on site. Excellent craftsmanship. Clean-up after job completion was thorough. Very good value for cost. Definitely use them again and highly recommend.

There was no back patio before Broad Spectrum Concrete Specialists came in. They sent someone out to do an estimate when they said they would. They poured the patio, stamped it and dyed it, and it is patterned. They framed it and filled it. They put the pattern on it and then they dyed it. They did a wonderful job, it was great. The price was right on the mark, and we loved it all summer. It looks great - it looks just as good right this minute as it did the day that they poured it. We are in a home owner association area and they had to be approved by the HOA. They worked with the HOA and made sure that the truck that came back to pour the concrete was able to come in without doing any damage to the property. Everything went smooth as silk. We had to submit the plans to the HOA for them to approve, the company came in and gave information and mapping to the HOA. It wasn't just a straightforward pour and walk away. There were some other nuances involved with the patio. The price was comparable to others in the area. The edges are slightly raised and that is where you would see flaking, and there isn't any.

I called Broad Spectrum for an estimate to have the driveway replaced. The sales associate called back the next day to set up an appointment. He came over when expected, was on time, courteous, and informative. We looked the driveway over, I told him what I was looking for in a replacement. He took down all the measurements, asked questions and also suggested a few things I hadn't thought of. I felt comfortable with him. I decided to have the entire drive widened from 8ft to10 ft, and to have a few awkward angles corrected that the old drive was built with between the house and garage. The rep said he'd send the written estimate / contract in the mail and that I'd get it the next day. As promised, I received all the paperwork the next day with a blueprint / measurements showing what the new drive would look like. I agreed with their price, signed and mailed back the contract. A day or so later they called back, we set up a date the work would be done. The crew arrived @ 1pm on the day expected, told me what they'd be doing that day then got to work. By 5pm all the old concrete was out and the base framing was down. Next morning they arrived around 9:30 and continued on with the work. By noon all the new concrete was poured. They cleaned up a bit and were done about 1:30 pm. Before leaving they asked if I had any questions. On both days the crew was friendly and professional. I would (and already have) recommend them and would hire them again.

I chose Broad Spectrum because of their high reviews on Angie's List. They were professional and provided good service. I would use the services from Broad Spectrum Concrete Specialists in the future.
