They are professional in every aspect, I would highly recommend them to others. My hat out to Paul, Bryan, Bob, Sheryll, Cody, Dave and John, they are friendly, understanding, patient, prompt, courteous, creative, efficient and professional in every way.

I have used them twice. They are very good, and very clean. I would use them again and recommend their service.

This was the second time the company serviced our gas fireplace and they do an excellent job. We would definitely hire them again. They are very thorough and do an excellent job of preparing the fireplace for the season.

Great. They were very professional and did a beautiful job. A week after the stove was installed, I noticed there was a faulty part. They came the next morning, right on time, and replaced the part. I've been using it almost every day since with no further problems. I originally wanted to use this stove as a backup in case I lost power, but it is so beautiful and realistic, I use it all the time.

They were very professional and courteous. When I'm ready to proceed with a gas fireplace, I plan to contact them again.

I previously used Black Hat when I moved into my new home several months ago. Nick fixed the old remote which was not working and cleaned the fireplace glass. He went over every detail about working this remote since we were unfamiliar with the fireplace. I had called Black Hat back in March because the old remote was not working. Unfortunately the box{ which reads the remote} had a lot of corrosion. I asked Nick to replace the unit, thus giving me a new box and remote. Again, he explained in detail how the remote works, how to avoid corrosion and programmed the remote so that the fireplace turns off when it reaches a certain temp. I highly recommend Black Hat.

The work was done beautifully to my fussy perception of what I was looking for. Bob came with great ideas of how to solve the many problems I had caused by damage from a long-ago fire that had been covered over. The work involved putting in a new lintel and support for the upper bricks, removing firebrick on rear of the wall, adding a new marble hearthstone, adding and finishing drywall over damaged brick (that was now properly supported). Installing 10' of trac pipe for the electrical unit for a Valor Windsor Chrome Arch Fireplace with fan and remote control. Black Hat also obtained any building permit needed for the work. The finished fireplace is now a show-stopper!

They did a good job. I had several problems with the ignition switch and each time Black Hat sent somebody over to try and fix the problem. Finally, and older gentleman was able to rectify the problem and I have had no further issues (fingers crossed). I really enjoy my gas fireplace now that I don't have all the mess of the wood burning fireplace. mess with >

They were amazing. Prompt and professional. They even customized the top of the fireplace mantel in our second room because I had wall units already there and the mantel top was larger than the space allowed. My husband and I could not be more pleased with their commitment to customer satisfaction. They were worth the cost....they didn't leave us in a lurch because the manufactured size of the mantel exceeded the space we had.

Bob helped me design the outdoor kitchen of my dreams. He was professional and very knowledgeable. He as able to understand my vision and guided me through the process of designing the kitchen. I am grateful for the suggestions he offered--his attention to detail made all the difference in the world. Everything was custom so this knowledge saved me time and money. His guys were an absolute pleasure to have at my house. Extremely polite, respectful and considerate of my very busy household, curious kids and dogs. They worked diligently through the weather, good or bad. They are extremely talented--I have a lot of company and everyone is so impressed by their stonework. It is impeccable!! My husband and I had planned on selling this house in the spring--but now we are considering staying. We just love the new patio and kitchen so much it has improved our quality of life! We spend more time outdoors, love cooking and entertaining. It feels like we have an addition to our house--the outdoor room. Even if we do sell, I will be calling Bob immediately!! The service is absolutely wonderful and they are really good. They are dependable, when they say they are coming, they are on time. They are qualified people. Their price was comparable to others. Before we bought our fireplace from them, we called some other places and they were very reasonable. They were clean and picked up. I can't say a bad thing about them.

,we had a few other companies come out to see if we could get gas fireplaces inserted into our existing 2 fireplaces. one stated the downstairs fireplace wasnt possible, a second company came out and stated the downstairs one couldnt be vented, then black hat came and said no problem, they put in two beautiful remote control vented gas fireplaces, they worked very hard. the workers were friendly and they all did a great job

Guys came into my home on time and ready to work. They prepared for the job by lining my carpets with a disposable cloth to keep it clean and even vacuumed their work area when complete. I am now the owner of a beautiful high efficient heat and glow remote powered fireplace with wrought iron and glass cover screen. I would re hire this company in a hot minuet!!

Black Hat installed a gas fireplace insert into our existing wood burning fireplace. The installers were very professional, courteous, prompt and did a great job. They cleaned up after themselves and went above and beyond the job by removing the old pipes from our former heatilator vents which was not part of the quoted job. I would highly recommend Black Hat for any fireplace work that you need to have done and I'm sure the other stuff that they do would be handled in the same way. We are enjoying our new gas insert very much.....so much easier than buying, stacking and hauling in all those dirty, buggy sometimes wet logs. Thank You to Black Hat for a great experience.

Very stress free! There were no hidden surprises. Black Hat arrived when scheduled & installed a gas fireplace that was more impressive than I even imagined.

It went great. Very professional and very satisfied. The installers were very informative and did a great job cleaning up. Would highly recommend Black Hat Chimney to all my friends, family, and neighbors.

I initially had the company come to my house to determine the best unit for the area that I wanted to install a gas fireplace. I was given a few different options to best suit my needs. I was then given an estimate for each option. I had other estimates done even though Black Hat was a little bit more money I was very impressed with the estimator and his staff. My work was completed in 2 days and I was completely satisfied with the end result. I would highly recommend them.

Installers were very neat, installed insert in living room in about 90 min. Had to build complete chase in basement and install the fireplace. Installers even asked if we were going to hang a TV over it. When we told them yes, They framed above the fireplace to accomodate the mount. When they were getting ready to leave they noticed a wasp nest in our second story yard lights and used their extension ladder and removed it for us!

The re-pointing was incredibly sloppy with mortar smears up and down the chimney. The joints were not raked properly. The mortar (which was supposed to be tinted to match the old) is bright white and stands out. When I complained (over the course of two months many times), they finally came out and made it slightly better, but still pretty noticeably bad - nothing done about the raking either. The new cap appears sound but they left the wooden form on the cap for over TWO months and after many calls, finally removed it. They left their sealant sprayer on my property and after many calls I gave it away to a neighbor. Worst of all, one year later, THE ROOF STILL LEAKS. I am now getting quotes from roofing professionals (found on this site), and both have remarked how poorly-done the flashing is and that tar is just a bandaid on the flashing - that the problem IS the flashing and it not being recessed into the chimney with proper sealant. Never again.
