This is the second time I used Jerry. He's a nice man and has always responded promptly. He had done a larger ceiling repair job for me a few years ago and I was generally happy with his work. This time I was grateful that he was able to squeeze my 2 day job into what seemed like a busy schedule but the work this time was clearly second rate and expensive. My daughter and I did all of the wallpaper removal in the hallway ourselves, so I was gobsmacked when I was charged $75 beyond the estimate to paint a door ("oh? You wanted me to paint that?" ) which is impossible to miss in a tiny 6x8 hallway. Jerry behaves very professionally so it was odd that he wouldn't have noticed a huge door and asked about it when he initially toured the property. I felt a little taken advantage of. He also wasn't clear about the removal of hardware. I would have appreciated his asking about the exceptionally beautiful brass hardware befor he just painted around it, forcing me to remove all of it after the fact and do the touch ups myself - which didn't bother him at all. He also left a few glaring flaws in the work (a visible hole in a corner of the room), which I pointed out to him, but when I asked Jerry to come back and fix it he never answered my call and never came back. I had expected Jerry to work alone, as he had before, but this time he brought his wife along as an assistant. I got the feeling that she had been enlisted to get the job done faster, and the whole thing felt intentionally rushed. I believe speed was their priority and not the quality of the work or our long term relationship, which is a shame. I advise to use with great caution.
Description of Work: Patched and painted a small entrance hall and repainted a kitchen.

Description of Work: I was planning on having my rooms painted, which have not been done in several years and the colors needed updating. At the same time I needed to have my ceilings repaired as there was major damage in 3 areas of my home. One was caused by a leaking skylight and the other by a leaking spa tub. I interviewed 3 seperate contractors. I was impressed with All That Glitters, as they were highly recommended by another well known and established contrator who felt that All That Glitters could do an excellent job, and they did. They always arrived on time, always professional, and did an excellent job. They also recommended another contractor to install new crown molding in all the rooms and coordinated their work around them. I cannot say enough wonderful things about All That Glitters. I had to have some major work done so I expected the cost to be higher than someone who was just having painting done. I did receive a lower bid and also a higher bid, but I knew that I wanted an excellent job and was willing to pay for it. I am very happy with the finished project.

The Company began to remove wallpaper and quickly determined that this was going to be too hard so they gave up and told us they would have to paid over the existing wallpaper. Because some of the wallpaper was removed already, they then informed us that they would have to repair the walls, apply block primer to the wallpaper, and sand and skim the wallpapers seams. The additional costs associated with these three functions were $260, $325, and $260, respectively. They also charged us the original amount of $450 to remove the wallpapers when they never accomplished this task. As soon as they left, it was readily apparent that their were bubbles in the wallpaper that were clearly visible. In addition, the lines between the sheets of wallpaper were clearly visible in all cases. The job was poorly done in the first place and now we are forced to readdress the situation. We are being told that because the wallpaper was painted over, that removal of the wallpaper is almost impossible. We could remove all the drywall and put new drywall up to paint. That would be very costly. We have, in essence, paid for work that was never done (removal of the wallpaper) and then had to pay extra for a job that was just too hard for them after they made the quotation. Now we have to pay again for the same job and hope that it works out after they have destroyed our walls. I do not recommend this company at all!!!
Description of Work: The Company proposed to remove wallpaper in our foyer, stairwell to the second floor and the upstairs hallway and then to paint the upper and lower hallways and stairwell.

Description of Work: Didn't have the courtesy to return my phone call for an estimate. Either their answering machine isn't checked or they're too busy to care.

Jerry did an amazing job patching damaged areas in walls and ceiling that we thought were unrepairable. He was extremely neat about it and wet sanded so there was no dust. His price was very competitive compared to the other 3 estimates I got from others. Will definitely use All that Glitters again if the need arises!!!

Owner Jerry and his wife arrived on time both days needed to complete the job. They did the above work faster than I expected and when they finished, left the painted area neat and clean.
Description of Work: The walls in the diningroom and stairway to the upstairs were washed, caulked, sanded and painted. A hole in a wall was also repaired. They also painted my ceiling which was a textured ceiling.

He said he could do it in 3 days. (Other contractors estimated a week). He did not guarantee his work. He used his family to help him with the job. He peeled off the old stucco and replastered. 3 hours after he left the ceiling started coming down around our ears. He came back the next day, said that he could do nothing more but refused to give us a refund, stating the time and effort he and his assistants (family) had put into the project. We settled for a 50% refund.
Description of Work: Replaster a stuccoed ceiling in our living and dining room that was cracking.
