Advantage Hardwood Floors

Dave came out and gave us a quote to repair and refinish our hardwood floor on 10/4/21. He told us he would not be able to get to our job until early November which was acceptable to us. We called Dave back and left a message to call us when he was able to schedule our job so we would be ready. We called him multiple times since to find out approximately when he would be doing the job but never heard back from him. Why would someone give you a quote and a timeframe and then just blow you off? Don't make the mistake of working with this guy.

Floor had some rippling in it the boards and marks from carpet staples - the surface is beautiful now. Work was reasonably priced, on schedule and virtually dust free. We were walking on our beautiful new floor 36 hours after they started. They're good.

Dave and his crew arrived exactly at time promised. They removed the old flooring and installed a beautiful new hardwood floor in both rooms. Because of high winds and heavy snow predicted on the 2nd day of installation, Dave put on extra guys to complete the job on day one. His whole team did a wonderful job. They cleaned everything up, moved all the appliances back and was out of the house by 3pm. I would highly recommend Advantage Hardwood Flooring....Thanks Dave!

Exceeded expectations. Dave and his crew are extremely courteous and professional. Always on time, never a mess. Process only takes 2 to 3 days. Highly recommend and will have them back to finish other rooms.

Dave and company were awesome. Absolute professionals. We have a 100+ year old home with the original top-nailed oak. Some of it needed repaired. Can't tell the difference between the original and the repaired sections. Dave applied four different stains in a swatch-like fashion to the floor so we could pick we which one we like best...something no else offered to do. Punctual, competitive pricing, cleaned up like they were never there, extremely responsive, and our floors look absolutely amazing. We are plan to use Advantage Hardwood floors again next year to do our 2nd floor.

The guys at Advantage Hardwood did a great job refinishing the original hardwood floors. They helped me choose the right color stain for my style home, the project was completed on time and we couldn't be more impressed with how great our floors look. I cannot believe it's the same floor.

Dave did an excellent work in our home. He was clear explaining the scope of the work and best options for us. It took about two months to get the work done because of the high volume of?customer he had ahead of us. When the date prearranged arrived Dave and his people finished the work on time and without any hassle. Our experience which them could not have been better. After a week of finishing the work we contacted him to share some concerns about the finish and resistance of the coating. He responded immediately and after an?inspection he addressed our concerns. We are extremely satisfied with his work and recommend him without hesitation. We will doing a hardwood installation with him in our family room in the next couple of months.

These guys were great. They did an excellent job on the floors in the dining room and living room, both of which were in good shape and had been exposed for 20+ years to kids, dogs etc. The hardwood floor under the wall to wall carpeting in my study was a different matter. They agreed to refinish it sight unseen and they did that, and did it well. It wasn't easy as the floor was not in great shape and had staples randomly on the surface to hold down the old carpet padding. They also installed several oak thresholds between rooms and a longer one leading to a new tile floor that was higher than the hardwood floor. They charged extra for that, but it wasn't in the original contract, so I was fine with that. They showed up on time, did the work they said they would, told me exactly what they would do, and after the 24 hour drying period came back on a Saturday morning to replace the furniture that was too heavy for my daughter and I to deal with. They were a pleasure to do business with.

Their pricing is good, as well as their customer service. Their work wasn't perfect ... but it was probably my situation. They repaired the floors as best they could, but the stains didn't all come out. It would have been nice to know there was a problem and maybe talk about options before the work was completed.

Dave and his team were in and out in 2 days. All work done to my expectations. Dave was honest and upfront that some of the existing stains on my floors would not come out completely. They fit me in much earlier than expected. There was no mess or dust left behind. I had another estimate years ago by Dave at another house and although we did not hire him for that job due to a family member helping us out, he left a positive impression on me so I did not hesitate to hire him for this job. Everyone comments on the floors when they enter the house.

I called and left a message requesting an estimate and I never received a return phone call. I am disappointed with Angie's List as this seems to be the "norm" with several companies listed!!!

Contacted 3 companies to get estimates on refinishing our hardwood floors in LR, DR , hall & stairway. We had pulled up the carpeting in these areas ourselves. Advantage Hardwood was the only company to actually come over & give us an estimate. Dave explained the process & answered our questions. This was helpful since we had never had floors refinished before. We felt the estimate was very good. The job went as promised, about 1 & a half days & at the price quoted. They were scheduling work about 7 weeks or so in advance, but we fine with that. They did some minor floor repair &, after sanding, stained the floor darker than it was. The also installed floor moldings & thresholds. The floors look great. I definitely would recommend them to anyone.

The men that showed up were very professional. They got to work right away and and were done in a few hours. They cleaned up nicely and did not leave a mess. The refinished floor turned out beautiful. I would highly recommend and use again in the future.

Jessie was very professionals and explained everything he did as he went along. The two guys were very respective of my sons property and worked well together. They were on time for the two days they worked. My calls and emails by Dave the owner were answered promptly. I will definitely use this company again. Thank you.

Floors look brand new now. Quoted cheapest AND quickest amongst everyone who provided an estimate. Also moved two pieces of heavy furniture and repaired two broken wood heating grates free of charge. Will definitely be using advantage again when we do upstairs.

very professional, completed in 1 1/2 days, movers scratched new finish. Advantage came back to corrected the problem at no charge. Would definitely use again.

Dave, showed up promptly, sanded the floor; with NO dust at all; and stained the floor to a beautiful color. He then put on one coat of sealer. He returned the next day and applied 2 more coats of sealer, and then lightly sanded and cleaned the floor. He did an exquisite job and I feel his price was very reasonable. I would highly recommend Advantage Hardwood Floors.

Sanded and refinished existing hardwood floors with water based polyurethene. Not as good as original finish laquer based. Looks okay but shows scuff marks easliy. When I noticed there were a couple spots that needed touch-up work, I called and left 2 messages. Never received a call back. Would consider going elsewhere for my next 2 larger projects due to lack of responsiveness.

I left many messages on their answering machine about a job we needed to have done. They never returned my calls.

Excellent. Technician came to the house, described what would be done. He accurately described what the refinishing would and wouldn't accomplish. (We has some discolored wood due to old pet and carpet underlayment) and provided an estimate that equaled the final cost of the job. New floors are gorgeous. There was one minor wrinkle in the job concerning one of the two small patches. My floor is an uncommon thickness, so Advantage did not have enough replacement wood to stagger the wood in both patches. I was out of town, they called me, informed me of the problem and described the solution- stagger the boards on the patch in the more prominent location and flush cut the new boards in the location under the furniture. The staggered patch was done beautifully- invisible to those who don't know where to look- and the fit and finish on the patch with square ends is very good. Work was interrupted by the cable repair guy- our fault, not Advantage's- and Advantage waited as long as they could before going to another job. Advantage came back the next morning to finish the work.

Dave returned my call for a quote the same day I left the message; he arrived later that same day to calculate the estimate. No problem applying the Angie's list discount to the quote. He was ready to do the job in a timely manner. When I was ready for the work to be done Dave scheduled it that same week. His crew arrived promptly, on time. They were courteous, amazingly efficient and proficient in their work. My 165 sq ft wax finished wood floor badly needed refinishing after 26 years of use. They removed the quarter round moulding and replaced it afterword without any loss or breakage. Their belt sander took care of the majority of the floor in a jiffy. The vacuum hose attached made it truly a dust free process. Before they proceeded with the edge sander they made certain of my final color desires. The old floor was a medium to dark oak that had faded significantly over the years due to the large south windows and skylight in the room. I had retouched the staining several times, but it was a short term fix. I was concerned that after polyurethene even that wouldn't be possible, so I was considering a lighter finish so the fading wouldn't be as noticeable even though the trim in the room was darker. They asked if I'd considered a natural finish that would provide variated surface color due to the variety of types of oak in the original flooring. They coated a small patch of floor with the sealer to give me an idea what the result would be. I went for that option and am delighted that I did. They sanded the edges and buffed them into the rest of the floor, then applied three coats of sealer that same day. I was able to replace the furniture the next day. The floor came out full range of light to dark oak that blends in the lighter oak furniture in the room with the darker trim. It looks better than brand new! The crew cleaned up without a trace, except for the gorgeous floor! I'd use them again with no reservation whatsoever!

They are simply the best. They called me right away after requesting a quote, came to the house and did all the work promised. I had 100 year old mahogany inlaid floors that were water damaged by a roofer. They replaced warped flooring and sanded and refinished everything..beautiful results!! No dust in house, cleaned up everything. They are busy so you may have to wait a few months to get them in but really worth the wait. I would hire them again in an instant
