SavATree Buchanan

I scheduled a fertilization and tree pruning in August 2021 to take place in September. SavaTree did the fertilization on time, but did not come back to do the pruning. Made multiple calls where I was told they would look into it and then I would not hear back. When I called for the third time in late October, I was told the pruning was scheduled for January 2022, but they may be able prune in late November. I cancelled at this point and asked for my deposit back. It is not good customer service to promise a date, not call back if the promised date can not be met, and also not get back to me when I call multiple times.

He was professional, arrived earlier than the estimate appointment and came back and got us the estimate within a day. Pricing was just higher with them.

Great. Set up for deep root fertilization, seasonal spraying of hemlocks. Also did high cabling to support large branches.

The crew was very precise in removing, due to the close proximity to buildings. Clean up was great.

It went great. We were happy with the price, service, and result. We will use them again.

I thought the price was reasonable, they cleaned up well, and the arborist was nice. He suggested what needs to be done, but was not pushy.

We called them because my landscaper said that my pear trees needed to be cut down. They did not cut them back, so they are still as tall as they were last year. We had a problem with billing. They wanted us to pay ahead. I would not use them again.

All of the team members were courteous and punctual. The team lead, Sean was happy to share details on some other disease issues on plants in the yard. The lead tree pruner was knowledgeable and shared some pointers on what to do in the future for my Japanese maple.

The weather got crazy in May so I was low on the priority list, but they did honor the voucher without a problem A d did all they could to be accommodating.

Initial visit was great. Greg arrived promptly, reviewed the work to be done and said that they were busy, but someone would contact me to schedule the work within a couple of weeks. A month later I had heard nothing so I called the office and was told that Greg would be contacted to get back to me. I waited a couple of days and then contacted Angie's for assistance. Shortly after, I got a message from Greg that stated a specific day/time that he and his team would be out to complete the work. The team arrived as stated and completed the work. The major issue I now have is that the Big Deal detailed the work that the discount included, Greg and team did not perform anything outside of the coupon offer, however Greg filled out the invoice for the work using the non discounted value ($300) plus $50. When I showed him that the coupon stated a charge of $140 for $300 tree service (which I had already paid via Angie's), he stated that I would receive the discounted price, but would have to pay an additional $50...( I thought when he said he would be separating a shrub that this was something not included on the coupon and therefore did not question the additional $50..however, I later learned that separate just meant pruning, not moving the shrub elsewhere) A few days after they completed their work, I received a email invoice for $350 plus tax. I called and explained that I had an Angies deal coupon and that I really should not have been charged an additional $50 since all the services performed were included in the discount price that I had already paid. I was then told that I would still owe the tax. I noted that the tax should be based on the $140 and not the $350 charge. I was told that they would apply the coupon and send me an updated invoice. To date I have not received the updated invoice and am planning on calling back soon to find out the status. I'm really not happy with the overall performance of this job...especially the billing. It seems like they do not want to honor the discount offer.

As far as I can see they did a good job.

It was a very limited trim, I had some safety concerns on the Oak tree and they did not take the smaller limbs out. They also removed a rotted limb on the maple tree. It was very expensive. I think what they did was good, they did a good clean up and did the work fast. But I think they are overpriced.

I wasn't here when they came, but they left a receipt when they left. We do have a tick problem where we live, but they did good work and I would use them again.

SavATree took down limbs, high up, from Willow and Linden trees. Their equipment was extensive including a "cherry picker," limb shredder, chain saws, etc. Before they left, they shredded all limbs into mulch, raked up any debris, and checked the driveway for stains. Supervisor and workers were friendly and conscientious. I was very pleased!

Performed work as described.

I was very much attracted to SavATree Buchanan's Angie's List deal of $140 for $300 worth of tree services, since I wanted stump grinding. When I had a 75 foot pine tree removed a few months ago, the tree service I used told me it would cost another $150 to do the stump grinding (another tree service told me $200). There is a very, very small stump from another tree right next to the aforementioned stump. So yesterday I was surprised when the SavATree rep estimated $450 of tree service.. Today I told this company I thought that $400 was more than fair enough (reasoning that $300 worth of tree work would cover it), and that I was willing to compromise at $425 (thus my out-of-pocket would be $265 if you apply the Angie's Coupon). SavATree Buchanan is an excellent company w/well certified staff; I used them once. Since it won't reconsider lowering the price $25 for this service, I will put this project on hold and most likely go w/another company. Also I would be most reluctant to consider a SavATree Buchanan Angie's deal again.

The estimate was very fair, and they were punctual. At some point a garden accessory was broken. It was not expensive, but I was not informed by the staff -- I just found it broken in the yard. Also, they only pruned one side of the tree around the wires, when the other side clearly needed to be pruned around the wires as well. When I pointed this out, the worker said the estimate only gave directions for one side of the tree to be pruned -- but I didn't think that was correct. They did a quick pruning of some more branches for me. Luckily I noticed! They did a good job overall, but those two things made the experience less than perfect. I would still use them again, though!

They were very good. I felt they were a little pricey. They have a arborist working for them, who comes out to do the initial look at the property and the job. It was good to have an arborist to give me tips, he even pointed out an apple tree that I didn't know I had. They credited the Big Deal toward the final cost. They were timely and came out when they said they would.

I had purchased a deal for the organic tick treatment through Angie's List, because for as concerned as I am for having pesticides applied to my lawn, I'm more concerned about my dogs and family being exposed to ticks. I decided that an organic treatment would work best, and wanted to give it a try. After calling SavATree, they sent a representative to my house to have a look over the property and discuss what was needed. He was exceptionally helpful and gave me some recommendations on tree care as well while he was there. A little while later (I cannot remember how long), a crew came by to apply the treatment, and I did not have to be home for this (loved this part). As far as I can tell, the treatment worked well (I did not find any on my dogs), and I will be using the organic treatments from now on on my lawn. SavATree has been in touch since the treatment, and has provided great customer service to remind me of hte application schedule, prices, etc. It was definitely worth getting a deal to try it out for the first time.

It went very well. Robert, the arborist, walked around our property and told us what needed to be done in addition to the ornamental tree pruning. He suggested taking down certain limbs that looked weak and bracing the huge tree in front of our house. When Hurricaine Sandy hit we were very happy we did the work as we had very little damage comparatively.

No doubt these guys are true professionals who know their stuff. Steve came and looked it all over and gave me an honest assessment of the situation and guidance as to my costs for different options. I don't think Sav-a-tree is the cheapest, but this is an area where you get what you pay for and in the long run saves you far more. After the hurricane hit, I had no limbs down or damage and the tree that we removed very well might have landed on my house. Steve, you are awesome!

They did an excellent job pruning the trees and shrubs. The crew was professional and very friendly. They were expensive but it was good work.

Very well. The workers were punctual and professional. They cleaned up after they finished the job. My yard looked great after they left.
