Description of Work: My daughter's apartment reconstruction contract, in which I was personally involved. Mr. Stern consistently provided less service than promised, and kept discovering additional items that would require additional charges. Lead abatement was to be the first element, and visitors to the apartment repeatedly found promises in the agreement, and of conformity to EPA requirements were not being kept. We eventually realized that the "agreement" was not in the required form, and readily open to the manipulations he engaged in. An acquaintance who also was having work done by him was recently informed that his insurance had lapsed for extended non-payment of premiums. My daughter terminated his services and has had to find a replacement, at considerable cost to her. Mr. Stern has proved completely unwilling to discuss settlement on reasonable terms.
