I hired White Star General Contractors for my home renovations. They are very professional and true experts in the business- they were always responsive to all my calls and concerns. The team exceeded my expectations and I am very happy with the outcome; everything was done as clean as possible. Definitely will come back and would highly recommend them! White Star General Contracting was hired to paint our apartment after some massive flooding from the apartment above us. In addition, we also hired them to change a bathroom vanity in our guest bathroom and attach some large pieces of furniture to the walls. Vadim, the owner, is very aggressive with his scheduling and was highly agitated each time he came to our apartment. We found him to be extremely unprofessional in his refusal to lay down any protective floor covering despite being aware that we just had new floors installed. He also mistakenly thought that the vanity installation was in the master bathroom instead of the guest bathroom despite several email and texts back and forth months prior confirming it was the guest bathroom. The installation was poorly done and Vadim has failed to properly install the plinth base which should be touching the floor and bearing the weight of the cabinet. Instead, Vadim used the leveling legs to raise the cabinet so he wouldn’t have to touch up the plaster wall but the full weight of the cabinet is poised on these levels instead of on the plinth base. See attached picture. Despite all of the above my biggest concern was Vadim’s lack of knowledge regarding plumbing in residential buildings six stories and above. Vadim switched a pipe in our bathroom without our permission when installing the vanity and violated NYC Plumbing Code that prohibits the use of plastic piping in residential buildings six stories or higher. He did come back to change the pipe after I complained but insisted the entire time that is up to code and we can agree to disagree. In addition, we were charged to install (2) large bookcases, a small cabinet and hang a piece of artwork. Vadim did not attach the (2) large bookcases to the wall in my daughter’s room but still charged us for the work anyway. I would NOT recommend White Star General Contracting due to my concerns regarding their lack of knowledge of NYC Construction Codes, the owner’s disgruntled attitude, and their billing practices.

Excellent professional job. Did a tile backsplash in our older apartment which have difficult walls to do such work. Very good communication and the best quote I received for it. Workers were very respectful of the space and left everything exceptionally clean. Very kind to do a small job like this for us. Highly recommend

Very high quality work for the right price. Vadim and his team are extremely attentive to details, and they ensure the job is done on time and on budget. I have worked with them on two renovation projects (one large, one small). I plan to work with them again.
