Description of Work: The owner and son came to measure my windows for Hunter Douglas shades. Two weeks later, I was called on a Monday morning that they wanted to come that day to install the shades. How do you call a customer the same day you want to install? I made an appointment for an alternate date. The men came to install the shades and one shade was much longer that the other. This was not the fault of United Decorators. I am assuming that it was an error on the part of Hunter Douglas. I found the deal to be no deal, because I paid Amy's List $199 and paid United Decorators $841. This adds up to $1,040 for 2 shades? Where is the deal?

Description of Work: I chose UNITED DECORATORS from Angies List to recover a sofa/daybed with three upholstered pillows. Everything was satisfactory. Paul came on time, with multiple samples of possible material. It was very professional. The upholstered daybed/sofa and pillows were delivered two weeks later, as promised. I would certainly make use of his services again.

Description of Work: Awesome company. We had three chairs redone, blinds on five windows and floor to ceiling draped in the living room. Everything was perfect. The blinds and draped have also saved us a lot on our heating bill. Everything came together perfectly just in time for Christmas.

Paul is a pleasure to work with and has an incredible eye. Their attention to detail brought my living room over the top. I would recommend them without reservation.

Description of Work: The installer came at the scheduled time and installed five Duette Honeycomb Shades. The only problem was that one shade was cut smaller than ordered. The installer put the smaller one up temporarily until the correct one could be installed. He was professional and apologized and said as soon as the correct shade came in, he would call and set up an appointment for installation. All in all I was very pleased with the service.

Description of Work: They advised, measured, and custom-made a shade for my window in a small, studio apartment. It was a perfect fit and fulfills its function and looks beautiful. They use Hunter-Douglass products. They also installed a wall-mounted device for managing the window shade. I am very satisfied and would recommend them to anyone.

Description of Work: I still have not used the money that I paid toward these blinds. I was given a wildly higher price that the one quoted from angies list and then was told by this provider that the need to make a living and that the discount would be given one way or the other. I ended up so turned off by these people that I have not used this money or the discount.

Description of Work: RE-upholstered two seat cushions that were damaged and were able to match the fabric from a job on the same sofa two years ago.

Description of Work: I ordered aluminum venetian blinds from Hunter Douglas. I had problems with the blinds not from the installation which was fine, but the blinds themselves. United Decorators were very professional and did what it took to provide me with what I wanted. They picked up and sent the blinds back to Hunter Douglas first to be repaired and eventually replaced. I would work with them again!

Description of Work: At this time, United Decorators has not installed the blinds I purchased. But, I can say that the company was immediately responsive to my purchase. Worked with me to schedule an appointment to measure my windows. After made appointment, arrived promptly. Person was helpful -- even helped me to select a color that will go with my newly decrorated apartment. I look forward to the final product!

Description of Work: Helped me select DR and BR shades. All looks and works great. In hindsight, I do wish they'd recommended a 2 piece for the BR due to my AC unit, but I should have noticed that, too.

Description of Work: I set up an appointment and there was a bit of a miscommunication, plus a traffic issue, but the owner (who came himself) was great at communicating and was very good about making an extra effort. He was was clearly very professional and I felt that everything would have been handled smoothly, but I did feel as if I wasn't given any other options other than Hunter Douglas. I'd done a lot of research and since I needed total light blockage, I wanted something with a side track. If Hunter Douglas had something suitable I would have went with United, but they were really committed to HD.

Description of Work: United Decorators completely transformed my loveseat. I couldn't have hoped for better. We had a brief misunderstanding over the promotion, but they made good in the end. In fact, they threw in two throw pillows free-of-charge.
