From my initial call to United Decorators to determine if they worked in Manhattan, to Paul's visits to my home to assess the chairs and provide numerous fabric samples, to the delivery of beautifully wrapped chairs, my every contact with United Decorators was positive. This is a business that really offers old fashioned customer service. On the telephone, Dahlia was unfailingly polite and helpful, Paul's home visits were made promptly at my convenience as were the delivery arrangements. The young man who delivered my chairs and placed them carefully in my living room treated my furniture and home with great respect. The work on the chairs is beautiful and the new cushions make them very comfortable for TV watching or reading. My only regret relates to fabric selection and that was my mistake---not United Decorators. I wanted a parchment color for the club chair but the fabric I chose turned out to be white. Will have to learn to live with it for a few years and then I'll call Paul again.

It could not have gone any better. After reading the excellent reviews on Angieslist I inquired if the company did work in my area of Long Island since the company is located in Brooklyn. The owner, Paul, made an appointment to come look at the sofa and give me an estimate. He arrived on time and was vey personable. He was knowledgeable and explained what the work entailed. He inspired confidence and did not disappoint. He had many samples of fabrics and recommended a fabric that matched beautifully with the existing armchairs in the living room. He also gave me 2 free throw pillows in a coordinating fabric. The sofa was picked up on 5/6/16 as scheduled and delivered on 6/2/16 as scheduled. The sofa, the 2 cushions and the 2 free throw pillows were delivered wrapped in plastic. The sofa is gorgeous and the workmanship is first-rate. The cushions are very comfortable with the new foams. I feel that I have a brand new sofa. I love my sofa! I called United Decorators as soon as the delivery guys left to thank them for a job well done.

Excellent fabric selection in showroom. Good advice from owner at inspection of sofa in our home. Pick-up and delivery was careful. The entire job was completed in less than two weeks. The quality and workmanship were excellent. The redone cushion has not been so comfortable and supportive in many years.

My sofa was in dire need of re-upholstering, after many years the springs were sagging and fabric were worn and tired; the love seat, a French provincial style, had not been touched in more than 40 years - it had been my parents. I heard about United Decorators first on WOR radio and also after checking on Angie's List. I made a call, an appointment was set up, and the process had begun. Paul, the owner, came out to the house, listened to what I wanted to do, explained their process, brought in many, many samples of fabric and made welcome suggestions. For the love seat, I had fabric which I wanted to use and that was no problem for United Decorators. The 2 pieces were picked up and carefully handled into their truck; they were brought back to me on May 11th and I couldn't be happier with the results. The love seat looks beautiful and the sofa, what can I say, it's better than I expected, I went with a totally different color, at Paul's suggestion, which gives it a more modern sophisticated look. I'm more than pleased I'm THRILLED with the results. The whole company is courteous and professional, care was taken when the pieces were picked and returned, they even went over the pieces to remove any bits of thread that may have remained. I would highly recommend this company to anyone and would certainly use them again in the future. Thank you for revitalizing my pieces, I love them!

The chair looks beautiful! The quality of the work is exceptional, and I would highly recommend United Decorators. Although the chair was almost 10 years old and used daily, it was still in good condition except for some wear on the arms, and the color did not fit in with a recent color change on the walls in the living room. I wanted to reupholster the chair because the seat and back of the chair give good support for a bad back. When I called for an appointment, I was pleased that they would come to Staten Island. I was shown numerous samples, given a written, complete estimate with a discount for Angie's List customers, and the chair was taken that same day. The cost was exactly as quoted and was delivered today. I found the owner to be a pleasant, professional person. This is the third time in a year that I have used Angie's List to find providers for services I needed and have been very pleased all three times.

, We have a wonderful 1930's Baker sofa. It was coming apart. All the feathers were coming out of the pillows. But it is such a wonderful couch that we wanted it reupholstered. Paul of United Decorators came out twice to look at it. He thought it was a wonderful sofa, well worth refinishing. He brought hundreds of fabric samples for us to choose from. He was patient and helpful as we sorted through them all. The sofa was too large to fit in the elevator,, so his workers came and did the work in our apartment. They were quick, efficient and clean. They did a great job of reinforcing the wooden frame and the springs. Then they did a really nice job of installing the new fabric. We were initially unhappy with the reupholstering of the cushions because they seemed too stiff with foam rubber in them (the old ones had had feathers). They redid the cushions, but we still weren't quite satisfied so they redid them a second time, and this time they were perfect. Paul was wonderful about this and said "we want you to be satisfied." And indeed we are satisfied. This is a quality company. I would highly recommend them to anyone. They do excellent work.

Worked with Paul and his daughter, Chantel, on many projects for our new home. They were very professional and had many good suggests. The quality of the work is first rate and they completed each of the projects in a timely manner. If there was an issue with something, they were quick to rectify. Installation of window treatments was done thoughtfully and with care. Would definitely do business with them again.

We had an absolutely great experience with Paul and his team at United. They reupholstered a large sleeper sofa for us, and everyone we dealt with at every stage of the process with was terrific -- prompt, courteous, and extremely professional. They got the job done faster than they estimated and the quality of the work was very high. The cushions were done a bit differently than we expected and when we asked about having them changed, Paul didn't miss a beat -- he had them picked up, changed the stuffing, and got them back to us in just a few days, all at no extra charge. Highly recommended.

United Decorators touched up the wood and reupholstered a 3-piece sectional sofa. They did a wonderful job. The new fabric looks beautiful. While the job took almost three weeks longer than originally estimated, overall, I'm very happy with the work.

Complete restoration of a 1940 chair. Very attentive, he was completely involve with the project. It is beautiful. He is very efficient and good work and very artistic.

Terrible. Very unprofessional, with terrible follow through. Could not countenance the idea that they did an inadequate job, even though within 6 months the tacks were coming out and the material was tearing. Very poor customer service. Wish we had done more investigation before we invested time and money with this company.

The owner, Paul came to take the measurements and bring swatches to the home. His expertise and willingness to listen to our questions were superb. What we ordered was pricey but exactly what we wanted. I would definitely use this company again.

Cancelled several appointments before salesman showed-up to review of products and quote. Delivery was faster than expected and installation was superb.

Paul is very easy to deal with. He came to my house with fabric samples and then arranged to have the chairs picked up. They were completed in about 3 weeks which is very fast. He arranged for them to be delivered when completed. The quality of the work is amazing. This is not cheap but you get more than your money's worth. This is the second time I have used United Decorators and I certainly would use them again.

The service would have been good but I miss my appointment

Salesman brought all his sample books, explained why certain products would work well and others that wouldn't work in my space. Efficient use of time, arrived a little late, delivered and installed on time. Installation- no problems. I love the shades but can not afford to buy more. Had purchased an Angie's List deal but should have looked further into the total cost. Was really caught off guard by the expense.

I made requests to several organizations in the area and described the work I needed done, some requested pictures of the imported lounge chairs to examine if they were able to do the work. United Decorators made an appointment to see the chairs and bring swatches for the material. The appointment was about 10 days away and on the day they called and reported they would be a bit late. They arrived at the delayed time and were quite professional and understood the difficulty with the curves on the chairs and our desire to avoid any pleating of the covering. The price was above the quotes others had given us, but their professionalism persuaded us to go with the higher price. It took about 3 weeks before the work was completed (on time as indicated in our initial discussion) and they delivered the chairs. The workmanship was just as we wanted it.
