If I could give 10 stars I would! Tri State Air, Inc installed a 3-zone ductless mini-split a/c system in our old townhouse at an amazingly reasonable price. Serge and his team were extremely knowledgeable and even corrected numerous errors from a previous older installation. We had one inverter that was very high up on the wall and they were able to get that one installed without any issues (see photo!).What can I say? They were prompt, courteous, very clean and quiet and completed the job in less time than anticipated. We are in the contracting business and I can honestly say Tri State Air, Inc is the best contractor we have ever hired and I would recommend them to anyone looking for A/C service or installation. Thank you so much again Serge!!

This company did excellent work, on time and thorough. I am very happy with their work and products. They installed two ductless air conditioning systems-Daikin in my home. All of the work was done neatly and my house was left in spotless condition. I am very happy with the whole experience. I recommend this company completely.

Serge and his crew were punctual and professional. Work was done neatly, and professionally. Very respectful of my house in terms of when they were moving about with tools and carrying equipment. Will definitely use again in the future.

Serge (owner of Tri State) came to us last Fall, after we had had 2 disastrous encounters with people from other companies try to get our bedroom unit to work properly... He spent an lot of time asking questions and examining the installation. Then he quoted a VERY fair price to re-wire the unit, but cautioned that it might not be the answer to our problems, as the unit, in his estimation, was too small to properly cool the room. The work was in a timely manner, leaving no materials for us to dispose of. He came back a few days later and we realized that he was proved right, and suggested that we move this small unit to a smaller room and get a larger unit for the bedroom. He did not charge for the initial and last service call, although we offered. Since we were leaving for the winter, we agreed to complete the work in the spring. The new unit works beautifully, with no additional damage to our interior wall and the outside work has covered hoses that look great. Again, no debris was left behind. Serge has proved to be a trustworthy, knowledgeable resource with a soft-spoken manner that is both reassuring and professional. He returns calls/texts immediately and the work is on-time, in budget, and VERY neat.

Serge and his crew arrived on the date and time we agreed upon. The wall units went up quickly and look beautiful. At every step of the installation Serge asked our opinion and made us very comfortable with the work. After the work was completed he explained the unit function and demonstrated the use of the remote controls for each wall unit. He even helped us go online and register the system with the manufacturer. We would definitely recommend Tri State Air to anyone looking to install the same system.

Serge, the owner of Tri State, was receptive and helpful from the get go. No hard sell. After meeting and getting quotes from a number of other AC installers, settling on Serge was a no-brainer. Serge arrived on the scheduled install date and began work after ensuring that he was clear on where we agreed the units would be installed. He made sure that all my questions were answered. This was a substantial job which Serge and his crew where able to complete in only two days. We are more than happy with the end result. Serge ensured that all garbage was collected and even went so far as helping us move some furniture. I do not hesitate to recommend his services.

Serg and his two workers showed up on time and completed the installation in one day. The installation turned out to be more difficult than appeared. But they figured it out. The work was done professionally and they did a nice clean-up. Serg thought 2 AC units would be better than one unit and he was right. No other contractors suggested that approach. And he did it for the same price. The price was excellent considering two units were installed. By installing two units--this meant less obtrusive lines running on the outside of the house. Serg also suggested a better placement of one of the inside air handlers even though it made the installation more difficult. Serg was very polite and straight forward at all times. I would definitely recommend him to others. $9,500 was an excellent price.

Sergey (Tri-State Air owner) came out in February to assess the house / installation options. Our place is a 140-year-old row house (three floors + finished basement, so technically a 4-ton AC requirement) in an old-urban setting (one of six adjoining units.) I had done some preliminary research on the Fujitsu system and figured that the single-compressor multi-zone 48k BTU solution would be the best. Sergey quickly corrected my preconception stating that it would be impractical if not impossible to implant in our place (not enough space between floors for branch boxes.) Instead he suggested getting the two above-mentioned units, which actually brings total capacity to 60k (Halcyon allows for up to 130% of maximum handling capacity to be connected - we have 65k BTU total indoor air handler capacity). All this for a LOWER price than the single 48k unit. I had priced out the combination of external compressors and indoor air handlers prior to contacting Tri State (or anyone else) - Sergey's price was very close. I had initially expected the project to cost ~16-17k, and was happy to end up at $14k, all inclusive. We had set a date when I was going to be off from work, with plan to touch base a few days before to schedule delivery of the units. Sergey was on time at each step. We started the project on agreed-upon date, and finished exactly as planned (i.e. Today, after 2.5 days of work.) In terms of the actual job, Sergey works with two other guys. He handles all the mission-critical parts (and one of his guys does the electrical implant). Sergey makes a point of welding the refrigerant/moisture lines (vs crimping / flaring or whatever other modalities there are to couple copper lines) and does so personally, because he does not want to come back for preventable repairs. That is a big plus. I did have a couple of anxious moments on the first day (large drills making holes in brick/external stucco might do that to any homeowner) but he assured me that the final product would be satisfactory and adequately insulated so that no leaks or water damage occur (we had to drill four holes in the back facade of the house, and one in the roof to allow for refrigerant/moisture/electric lines from the top two floors (four rooms). Electrical panel is in the basement, front of the house. The contractors had to cut out 7-8 sheet rock panels in the house to pass all the lines. They did so with hand saws, which leaves the panels somewhat uneven when it's time to put them back, but their explanation is that it leaves less dust than a powered saw. Tri State does NOT replace the panels / repair the structural incursions they make in order to install the equipment - make sure you have another contractor to repair the sheet rock / paint job (or do it yourself.) But they do tell you that ahead of time. The compressors were mounted on the back wall of the house, on L brackets. Sturdy, stainless steel painted white. I was concerned about metal-on-metal contact and possible vibration/resonance. I mentioned this to Sergey and although initially he was less than convinced, in the end he was receptive and his guys put rubber pads between the compressor units and the brackets (circular ones that come with the unit and are also used for leveling). It seems to have made a small but perceptible difference. Otherwise, the contractor has made a point of leaving the place free of debris/boxes. I paid in three installments, with the last due on completion. He and his team were easy going but focused on getting the job done in a timely manner. The outdoor units appear to work without issues so far (a few hours), and are providing surprising amounts of heat (it's 30 degrees outside) - contractor tested them by turning temp settings up past 80F on all indoor air handlers at once --> the two outside compressors running together seem to make less noise than two 9-12K BTU window AC units put together. Maybe that's a bit too generous, but really it's kind of astounding (we picked Fujitsu partly because it's billed as the most quiet mini-split system on the market). I am reserving final judgment until the dog days of summer when these things will be cranking around the clock - my sense is that the sonic contribution from this setup will be all but drowned out by the scores of window and traditional AC roof units that predominate our neighborhood. Overall, we enthusiastically recommend Tri State Air for their AC installation services. I may do a longer-term review after the system has seen its full scope of service. I would suggest planning for install in the off-season, as you are more likely to get a better deal, because based on the amount of phone calls Sergey fielded while here, he is quite in demand. (this review was written in the finished basement while enjoying the warm breeze from a fantastically quiet 9K air handler.)
