STONEMARK

We purchased the work at Home Depot on 12/29/10 to be done by Innovative Stone. We were told that after the counter tops we purchased were installed, it would be about a week before they would come back and do the back splash. All through the process I had to call to find out how it would work getting the tiles in place after the counter tops were once placed. When I would call their office, they didn't seem sure on anything. When the first phase of the counters were placed, we expected someone to call us to discuss the next phase of the tiles to be installed. Over a week went by and I had to call their office. They didn't know how to handle my call when I asked what next. They finally placed the project person managing my project on the phone. She told me it would take about a week to get the tiles in and had no definite time when they would arrive. Two weeks later had to call to find out what was going on and I was told that the tiles were to arrive on 2/1/11. Great, so we arranged for them to do the job on 2/4 early in the am. The day before they were to arrive the company called me to tell me there was a screw up on the scheduling and there was another job to be done as mine on the same day. As I took the day off ,I explained I can't keep arranging days off from work and they had to make it happen no matter what. They finally got back to me late that day after I made another call. They said they would be there at 2 in the afternoon on 2/4 and not knowing how long it would take to do the job, I agreed. The day of the job at 1:13 pm the project manager of I Stone called and said there was a problem on the other site but they will be there to do the job around 5 pm. At 8:00 at night they arrived at my door to tell me they came to see what they had to do. I flipped ! I gave them an ultimatum to start the job that night and finish it the next day. I told them I lost a days pay. The sub contractor doing the job for I. Stone wanted to pay me to keep me from calling their office to complain and wanted to come back Tuesday the following week to do the job. To lake a long story short, they came back late again the next day and prepared the walls. When they were ready to tile, they did not have our tiles !! I let them finish doing what they had to do and let them think they were coming back. I immediately called Home Depot and the next day canceled the work. After getting another company to do the job, they had to undo what Innovative Stones contractors did. They didn't anchor the screws into solid foundation and many weren't screwed in all the way. Over all we called Innovative Stone and made our complaints and told them we were pleased with the counter tops they installed but the tiling job and procedure was the worst experience. We would never do it again. Clearly the contractor didn't check his supplies before leaving for the job. As for the project manager at Innovative Stone she should be ashamed of herself to allowing this to happen. She knew all along that this type of job would take at least 6-8 hours to do. And to tell us they would arrive at 5 in the afternoon was inexcusable !

Overall it was a positive experience. They are very professional when they come to measure and it's pretty quick. They know what they're doing. I did have a hassle getting a hold of them and had to really ride them to get the job done in time. They had a really slow process. I spent endless amounts of time to get them to do the work.
