old stairs squeaked and were in general disrepair. Soxco replaced the treads and risers with new ones and tightened the posts and balusters. Everything was sanded, stained sealed and painted perfectly. They had a waiting list but it was worth it. Definitely top notch.

After about a week I emailed to ask what the status of the estimate was because I needed to plan around tenants. I said I could wait for SOXCO to start the job if they were busy. It is a good sign when a company is busy and I got good feedback from people who had used their services in the past. Waited another week and then called to explain again that I did not mind waiting that SOXCO was my first choice but I needed to know if wanted the job. Sent another email on May 28th asking if they wanted the job. Never got any response. By then I had missed my opportunity to do the job that year because of rental lease. No big deal. Tried again on email Feb 5, 2015. Told them I had not done the job yet and they were always my first choice. Followed with a phone call to SOXCO explaining that I really wanted them to do the job. Was told that Antoon would call me back. Waited another week. Emailed Feb 12 that I thought it was rude to not respond at all and that I would blog about my experiences. Finally got a response after 9 months: My apologies for the slow response to your e-mail.Regretfully we will not be able to take on your project. Best, Antoon Schollee, Soxco Stairs Would have waited for them even if it took a year if I knew they wanted the job. But, after so many months they could have at least said why. I would have accepted any response, if the job was too big, they were too busy, even that they simply did not want the job. I expected it to cost $30-50,000, the lack of communication is just weird. What a waste of my time.
Description of Work: I contacted Soxco 4/11/14. Antoon came in order to give an estimate to restore an antique staircase May 1, 2014.

They did an excellent job. I kept kidding the workers about checking their work with a magnifying glass and they passed every inspection! They made a mess during the day but they always cleaned up at the end of the day.
