+ -1 moreHis is an old family business with extensive records and knowledge of building requirements. He knows the city code in and out, and has someone on staff to handle asbestos-testing, if required. He is excellent in navigating the city bureaucracy so that one's permissions and approvals are in order. He is accessible, especially easy to reach if you call very early in the morning, between 6:30--7:30 a.m.
Description of Work: Scott did the filing with New York City Department of Buildings for the deck we had built in the back of our house.

+ -1 moreThe filing included extensive interior, exterior and some structural changes. The DOB inspector brought up a very long list of complaints against the plans. Also there was no documentation on previous work done to the house, so there was no proof that the existing use was legal. Scott's office charged a flat fee for the job, and didn't ask for more even through complications requiring extra work at the DOB. When the city DOB reviewer left the country for 4 months (yes this kind of thing can happen, no the guy didn't get fired), Scott personally met with the commissioner to help get our project back on track. Scotts office got the plans approved pretty much as designed by the Architects.
Description of Work: Handled filing and followup (expediting) of plans with the Brooklyn DOB for a gut renovation of a two family home.

Description of Work: He is a building engineer. I had to get permission from the city to do construction on my apartment. I used him to expedite the process to get approval.
