Everything was excellent. I've been in Brooklyn for over 35 years and have always gone to Richie for carpeting before moving into a new place. This time I needed new carpeting in a place I've lived in for 20 years and the kitchen needed a makeover. Richie and his sons were helpful in picking out the perfect carpets for the bedroom, living room, foyer and hallway as well as some awesome COREtec planking to give the kitchen a new look. I have always been pleased with the work done by Richie and Sons. This time I was especially impressed with his Team as they ripped up the old carpeting and put in the new as well as that new kitchen floor. The guys were on time, worked hard and efficiently, moved all sorts of furniture to get the job done and cleaned up afterwards. To me the job seemed impossible, so it was like a miracle to see what could be done once in the hands of these professionals. I'm over the top satisfied and would highly recommend them for any carpet/flooring need ... large or small.

Excellent ! 3 men to install carpet in 13 by 15 bedroom , were exactly on time, very professional and personable . I did not have to go to their store in Brooklyn, they came to me in Forest Hills with samples to choose. They did all clean up, leaving my bedroom in pristine condition. All this took only 2 1/2 hours.

After living in our home for 14 years my wife and I decided to change the carpet. We were looking for pet friendly and easy to maintain. Richie came to the house TWICE to bring samples for us to look at. He never tried to push the most expensive carpeting on us, and answered our questions. When it came to installation they were on time, courteous, and ready to go. They finished the installation in half a day and cleaned up after themselves. It was a small job, but Richie and his workers treated it like it was a palatial estate. I would not hesitate to use them again.

We Looked them Up on this Site. They came over and gave Us an estimate. The next few weeks they made the problem go Away. New floors. Excellent !!

I had my rugs removed from 3 rooms and a new kitchen floor installed . I only had one problem which was corrected with no arguments . I would recommend Richie's company . Richie himself is a regular guy from a mom and pop store . His men are knowledgeable and talented . He is my floor guy from now on.

I assumed I would replace the old flooring with new linoleum. Richie's store had many good linoleum options, but he then showed me other options. I ultimately chose to install interlocking tiles which were more durable than linoleum at a comparable price. I did have one minor issue after installation. Richie was very responsive to my concern and ensured that everything was made right. They handled everything very professionally and I am still VERY happy with my floor. I will definitely use Richie for my next flooring need.

They were helpful in the store, in choosing a high-quality and attractive vinyl tile. Three installers arrived on time, worked quickly and did a very professional job, and cleaned up afterward. The results are excellent. I always prefer to use small, family-owned businesses rather than large home improvement chains.

They were on time. They were neat and clean, they exceeded our expectations. They did a fabulous job.

My experience was GREAT as usual! This is the third time I've employed Richie's Bay Ridge. They did two previous jobs for me... installing linoleum on four flights of stairs and another time laying beautiful wood-look vinyl flooring in my kitchen. OMG it's gorgeous! I'm always happy with the completed jobs and I will never go to someone else. Richie came to measure the two bathrooms and brought samples of beautiful vinyl. In a couple of days Gus arrived with the materials to do the job. This is also the third time Gus has worked in my house. He is a complete professional and a very nice guy. They got to work immediately and it took a minimum amount of time to complete the two bathrooms which came out beautiful! They are honest, fast and meticulous, a rare thing these days. I love dealing with Richie's place because they are totally professional and do what they promise when they promise to do it. No hassles whatsoever as there are with most places you need work from. Once again, a totally pleasurable experience. Thank you!!

I placed the order on a wednesday and the carpet was installed the following week on thursday. The installation crew was on-time, professiomal and customer friendly. I had a full bedroom set and these guys (3person crew) moved quickly and efficiently. The job took 2 and a half hrs in which they moved around furniture, installed carpet and placed furniture back in place. I was impressed and satisfied with their svcs and professional manner. Richie (in store) and Kevin (free estimate at my home) were also professional when addressing my many questions.

The job went well. They were on time and schedule, cleaned up well, and the quality was excellent. The teamwork was also very good.

When I stopped by the business to explore flooring options, Richie was super nice, showed me the different options, gave me pros and cons of each. When I decided to move forward, he showed up the next day to measure my room, and his estimate was the same as the one he'd given me in the store. The materials arrived in under two weeks and they installed the floor a few days later. Several guys showed up exactly on time and very efficiently pulled up my old disgusting carpet. They were friendly and got right to work. The installation of the floating cork floor took a few hours - they were very efficient and paid a lot of attention to detail - I watched them for a while and was impressed with how careful they were to lay each plank exactly right. They had to make a bunch of cuts around various doorways, corners and the radiators and it was very precise. They cleaned up nicely when they were done. Richie called that evening to make sure everything was ok. It looks wonderful. I'm so glad I used a local, family owned business instead of the hacks at Home Depot. When I need flooring in other rooms, I'll absolutely call them again.

This is the second time Bay Ridge Carpet and Linoleum has done work for me. Kevin came to the house,measured the areas and discussed my options. He also brought a lot of samples. One of the things I love about this company is they measure, order and set the date for the work to be done. They don't leave you hanging. The turn around time was only ten days! John and Gus arrived when they said they would. They are very hard working and just as nice! This was another great experience for me and I already know what I'd like them to do next. Don't waste your time looking anyplace else if you want the best from the best!

This is a family business run by Ritchie and his son and nephew, Kevin and Jimmy. Ritchie came and showed us samples right in our home... Then, stayed in close contact with us as we took 2 weeks to decide on the floor. He ordered the floor for us and installed it on a day that was convenient for us. They worked around our schedule. Jimmy came with a helper and was CLEAN, fast and meticulous. They moved our stove and Fridge also. He was so sweet and knowledgeable. They even removed and cut my Moms door and put it back up in about 10 minutes! I find that with most companies these days, you need to watch everything they do, because they're messy and will cut corners... Not these guys. You can tell they take pride in what they do, and treat your home like they would their own! We were so impressed with them that they will now be installing carpeting on our hallway steps, (after a HUGE debacle with Empire Today... I had Empire installing the carpet before I found Ritchie's Bay Ridge Carpet. I can tell you from experience... STAY FAAAR AWAY FROM EMPIRE.) When I went to Bay Ridge Carpet to pick the carpet, I had a certain one in mind. Ritchie personally pulled samples for me and told me about them. They really are one of the best carpet/vinyl people you could ever find. Do not hesitate to hire these guys! I also recommended them to my Uncle in Bronxville NY who will be using them to install a whole houseful of carpet.

Overall, my experience with Bay Ridge Carpet and Tile was extremely positive. I found them to be very professional, knowledgeable and easy to work with. Ritchie the owner, came right over to my house to inspect the job, he brought samples with him, he advised me about all the options including materials, pro and cons of carpet vs. rubber, etc. He also advised me how to prep the steps for the best overall wear and tear. He called to confirm the installation before coming, was flexible with me to accommodate my schedule change, called me with updates regarding the installers arrival time - showing great consideration for my time throughout the process. The guys who installed the carpeting got right to work, were very professional, knew their trade, did a beautiful job, cleaned up after themselves and provided an excellent overall product. I am very satisfied with the overall experience, highly recommend them and would absolutely use them again.

My husband and I met with Kevin and Jimmy at Bay Ridge Carpet and were helped with selecting our bedroom carpeting. In two days we received a sample of our selection, the next day got a call from Richie with the delivery date and a few days later, our carpet was delivered and installed. I am extremely pleased with their professionalism, courtesy and promptness and look forward to doing business with them again.

Richie Wells responded promptly to my phone call. We met at the property to review the possibilities. Richie made suggestions and I followed up with a visit to his shop. He helped me pick a product that made the most sense for this building. Although there were so many choices he helped me quickly narrow them down. His cost estimate was a bit less than I expected, which included removal of old flooring, replacement of sub flooring plus replacement of kitchen floor in one of the apartments. I had three other vendors on my list, but decided not to bother getting additional bids. The flooring was installed soon after we shook hands on the deal. It looks great and was a big improvement to the property.

The process of buying new carpeting was so much easier here than any time I bought in the past. I have shopped for carpeting many times with my husband and it felt like such a blind task.. Kevin [Ritchie's son} helped us and he was incredibly patient and listened closely to our likes and dislikes to help us make a decision with which carpet to select. He never coaxed us to buy one carpet over another and made very intelligent suggestions. He came the next day to measure our room and told us he would suggest getting the wider rolled carpet so that we would not have a seam that seemed to disturb us from the last install from a different carpet place. He brought samples but told us that since we want to go with the wider cut carpet we should come back to the store to select the colors we wanted with that type. He even helped us pick the color when he heard us discussing what we wanted. Kevin called us to say they were ready to install and told us a time. The workers came an hour earlier and we were happy about that. The carpet installers were so wonderful and were so incredibly strong to move around our bedroom furniture which was abundant. The carpet and padding is just outstanding! Many times carpet places end up cheating you on the quality of carpet or on the padding, but we did not worry in this place. I wish all our home upgrades could be as pleasant an experience! We will be a return customer for sure! Kevin called after the process to make sure everything went to our liking! PS--- they are even making me a mat to use by the entrance to my apartment with the extra carpet so in the winter guests can wipe their feet so that my hardwood floor doesn't get wet!! I will keep you posted!

Having my basement carpet was a wonderful experience from beginning to end. Richie showed us carpet samples in the store based on our needs (traffic, durability, etc.) and brought them to the house so we could see how they would look under the actual lighting. The carpet we selected was in stock and installed within four days. The workmanship involved in framing out certain areas (for easy access to sewer drains) was great and the whole basement looked beautiful. We did not have to remove the desk and some of the floor to ceiling shelving since they were emptied and there was sufficient space for them to work and as needed they could move the shelving and desk. Upon completion, the basement was left clean and neat. I would definitely have any additional work done by them and I recommend them highly.

Richie showed up to take measurements the day after I called him. Two days later his son and a helper shoed up and installed the floor prompt and to perfection. They work fast and do a good job cleaning up after themselves. Highly recommended.

Wonderful! It's not easy finding honest, professional, hard working and nice people to do work for you these day but this company delivers on all counts. I spoke with Richie the first time I called and right away I had a good feeling about Bay Ridge Carpet & Linoleum. Kevin came to measure and give me an estimate. He didn't rush, explained exactly what would be done and patiently anwered my questions. They came when they said they would, the guys were very nice and so fast! And cleaned up when they were finished so, except for the new stairs, you couldn't tell there had been work done. They did a professional, beautiful job and I couldn't be happier. Well, I will be happier because i'm going to call them again to install a new kitchen floor for me. THANK YOU GUYS! I walked into Ritchie's store looking for flooring options for my mom's kitchen (a 1920s apartment rental). Kevin (Ritchie's son) was most helpful in explaining some of the options available and after much discussion, we decided on vinyl sheet flooring. He also helped my mom and I choose a pattern that she really liked. The very next day Ritchie came to my mom's apartment (called to ask if OK to arrive about 20 minutes earlier than our appointment time) and took the kitchen measurements himself and scheduled the installation for the following Saturday (Nov. 16, 2013) so I could be there for the installation. His men arrived at 8:30am for our 9:00am appointment and were extremely professional and courteous; they worked diligently to ensure the job was done expediently and well. Every person we dealt with made us feel we were valued customers and that was very much appreciated -- it did not go unnoticed. Thank you. PS: I found Ritchie via Angie's List and when I shared my find with other family members, I discovered they had also purchased flooring from Ritchie in past years and always had a very positive experience as well. Just further confirmation it was the right choice.
