Job was excellent. Mr Kazi and crew worked diligently to make sure the entire roof was sealed. They were always on time, and job was Completed on schedule. Will continue to hire mr. Kari for future projects.

THE WORKER ARRIVED ON THE FIRST OF AUGUST AND WORKED VERY HARD FOR 2 DAYS. HE FINISHED ON FRIDAY NIGHT. HOWEVER, THE WORK HE DID WAS NOT SATISFACTORY. I PAID BECAUSE IT WAS COMPLETED.BUT NOT VERY WELL . THE WORKER CRACKED 2 TILES AND CHIPPED A FEW OTHERS. HE ALSO WAS NOT ABLE TO REPLACE THE LIVING ROOM CEILING TILES AND HAD TO CALL KAZI TO HELP HIM. KAZI TOOK $25 OFF THE ORIGINAL CONTRACT BECAUSE HE WAS UNABLE TO LOCATE CEILING LIGHT COVERS THAT FIT THE BEDROOM FIXTURE( IT IS VERY OLD). MY SON NOTICED THAT HE MISSED A FEW SPOTS ON THE FLOOR TILES.AND QUESTIONED THE WORK ON THE CORNERS OF THE BATHTUB.( THAT WAS NOT PART OF THE CONTRACT). I CALLED KAZI ON SUNDAY AND HE SAID THAT HE WOULD COME BY DURING THE WEEK. ANOTHER OF MY SONS NOTICED THAT THE WORKER LEFT SOME SMALL SPACES IN THE GROUT ON THE WALL TILES. I DECIDED TO ADDRESS THAT WHEN KAZI CAME B. I HAVE NEITHER SEEN NOR HEARD FROM HIM SINCE. IWAS VERY DISAPPOINTED.

Rahat Contracting came on time and did what needed to be done and what was agreed to and worked quickly and efficiently. We have had no issues with water coming into the lower floor since they did the work.

All in all it was pretty fast. It took some time due to the on again off again rain this spring/summer.

I truly cannot stress how BAD of a job this contractor did but let's start with the positives first. The owner, Kazi, is a very nice man, and his whole staff is very nice too (which is why we decided to hire them) plus we saw some of his work at other locations and honestly, it looked fine. They did truly try to please, but it became apparent as the job went on, that this was not a skilled group of individuals and they were not used to working on "higher end" homes (not bragging, but just expressing that the homes in my neighborhood generally start at 1.3M and we are all about quality, not lowest price). But, in short, the poor workmanship and finish work, and stress that they brought to my wife and I was above and beyond any experience I have ever had with a contractor in my life, and believe me, we have had some terrible experiences. We hired him to pour concrete in our driveway about 4 foot wide and 60 feet long. This at first appeared to have been done correctly. Roughly a year later (now), ALL the concrete is cracked. We had to demo all his work and when we asked our new contractor what went wrong. He explained that these guys did not prepare all the underlayment materials correctly (such as wire mesh, and metal rods, etc...). Having years of experience in the construction business myself, though I never worked with concrete, it was apparent that my new contractor was correct. Rahat, was also hired to repoint all 29 of my windows. Now, I am not trying to make a joke here, but the man who was doing the repointing, literally only had one eye, and I asked Kazi, the owner, is this going to be a problem. He assured me the man is an expert. I came back home after work and my house lookedas if 2, 10 year old children splattered all the walls and windows with concrete. I wish Angies lst would let me upload photos b/c you really need to see this to believe it. The last part of the project was to gut and renovate our bathroom. In short, Kazi tried to use regular sheetrock (for bathrooms you MUST use green board b/c it is moisture resistant and cement board in the shower stall so your shower will be waterproof)... When I saw them putting up regular sheetrock, I finally lost it on them. They then switched to the correct boards, and started the tile work which was just ok... the grout work however..... don't ask. Oh, and part of the deal was to pressure wash my porch which is made out of 100+ year old flagstone.... these idiots used muratic acid (think of it as super harsh bleaching agent), and my beautiful $40,000 porch is completely ruined. When I saw this,and my wife crying hysterically, I literally took there tools, threw them out of the house, and asked them all to leave and withold the mere $2,000 balance that I still had with them. The quotes I received to "restore" the property back to what it "was" was way over 70K. I really should have taken them to court, but honestly, my life is quite busy, and simply did not have the time. So now, my house is the "eye soar" of the block both inside and out. Kazi quoted me verbally but wouldn't give me a written estimate unless I agreed to the work. I explained that he was the first person I called & that other people may have different opinions I wanted to hear about before agreeing. He was just really firm about it anyway. I'm just not going to negotiate about work until I hear more about what's going on & what my options are. I'm sure he does good work but I was really off-put by his unwillingness appreciate the importance of a written estimate.

I called for a free estimate for damages in and out of my house. They said the estimate is free but a written estimate is $500. If he got the job he would take $500 off but if he didn't I would be out of the $500. To me that's not a free estimate. They should have put that in their ad. I'm going to go with another company.

The service went great. The staff was very professional and nice. The price was good and I would definitely recommend him to other people. He did what he said he would do and we both walked away happy.

The second time Kazi from Rahat Contracting repaired a couple of doors where the hinges were completely stripped from the wood. Kazi came and gave an estimate, which I accepted even though the price seemed a little high. He set a date to come back to do the repair work and he was right on time and completed everything within a couple of hours. He also installed new door knobs. The quality of the knobs is what pushed the price up because they were made of glass to fit the decor of the house. I am planning to use his service to install a new kitchen faucet. I'll let Angies' members know how that turns out as well.

I had called several other contractors from Angie's list and most did not even return my call. The one contractor who did respond gave me an estimate that I thought was very high. So I found a business card from Rahat Contracting , called and left a message. Kazi Ismail from Rahat Contracting called me back within an hour and we made arrangements to meet for an estimate. Mr. Kazi came and gave an estimate on Friday, he showed me several other homes in the neighborhood where he was very well known and had completed beautiful stone and brick work on several houses. His estimate was very reasonable so he came and did the work on my house the following Tues. He arrived on time and cleaned up when he left. I am very pleased with his work and even more pleased with the price.
