Rahat Construction Corp.

Rahat Contracting Co. performed and followed all the necessary work as as required by the Department of Buildings and in accordance with the plan submitted by the architect. They also finished the job in the time frame as per our contract. Rahat Contracting is a dependable and reliable company and I would recommend highly to anybody.

Kazi was working on my basement and at first it was ok but as the weeks went by they seemed to slow down on the progress and there are several issues. At first he explained in detail what he was doing throughout the process. We had a few hiccups we thought were resolved (leaking) which he charged 1,500 and we are still having the issue.The contract was for 5-6 weeks and it has been almost 4 months. We are not happy with the work and the amount of time it has taken and professionalism is terrible. He started off good but as the work progressed he would have mostly just one person working daily and if we pointed out things that we wanted to be done or things that were not correct he would literally give us a hard time to fix or just blatantly say NO. It seems they don't have a set schedule as they stated in the contract that they did. On the days they wouldn't come there was no phone call to inform us they just wouldn't show up. When we complained on how long it was taking it still continued like it was shrugged off. On several occasions we contacted him and requested a time frame as well as resolution on the items that were done incorrectly. Let's just say he was not as nice as when he was first hired to do the job. We also mentioned to him the fact that there were several front tiles damaged by his workers in the front of the house as well as a door taken off its hinges but he refused to take responsibility for it and stated that the door and tiles were old. Whether or not the tiles/door were old or not does not mean you should break them or damage them any further. All we wanted was for him to do a good job and fix any hiccups as well as ensure that the door and tiles damaged by his workers were left in the same condition he found them in. Also as far as pricing please ask upfront what is included as there were quite a few things that I would think should have been part of the pricing (eg. vent for bathroom) as this is something that was known that the basement needed to be totally done. The last communication we requested for him to contact us in regard to the work and he has not done so. I guess because he received most of his money he doesn't care. In the contract he was supposed to get the final payment of 9,000 on completion but a few weeks ago he requested 4,000 of that final payment in advance because he was celebrating a holiday. I would definitely not recommend him to anyone now. We trusted him, just beware. We have several pictures of his unfinished work and are in the midst of trying to hire other contractors to fix and finish the job.

The work to be done was properly explained & all our questions/concerns answered. They went above & beyond to meet our needs; even to the point of rescheduling the work from the initial agreed on date to accommodate us. The crew was punctual, thorough & professional. The work was completed on time & as promised. The steps look great!! We?re very satisfied & highly recommend them & would use them again in the future.

I needed my front yard cemented. Kazi came and quoted me a very reasonable price. We agreed on a date and time. His crew were there early in the morning on the date agreed . The workers did a great job. My front yard looks better than ever. They carted everything away and left my place very clean. I will definitely use them again.

He did not define the driveway, so people still park over my driveway. He was supposed to define when the sidewalk ends and my driveway began with a curb or a bump but it was not done at all. I'm not even sure they sealed the concrete. He was also supposed to paint my railing and gate, but only painted the railing, not the gate calling it a fence (I feel completely played in this regard). The end result is not a professional job. It is sloppy. The only thing I was pleased with was the way they did the side of the house; everything else is very disappointing.

Kazi had to return this month of June 2015 to redo six sections of concrete that cracked. This was in my back yard and around the border of my property that he did last August. I noticed 6 sections were cracked in February. I had to call him repeatedly to get him to come. He never answered my emails. I finally got him to agree to redo these sections plus portion of the border of my property that he did was cracking. The redo job was horrible. He wanted to do a fast repair but I told him he would have to redo. I was disappointed that during all this repair work he was never present. I had to constantly try to watch they would not make the same mistakes. I have had comment work done but many years ago. I was always satisfied but did not have info to contact same people after so many years. When Kazi first did my yard I noticed that the cement had stains and I complained. When Kazi first came he told me to be careful because some contractors use low grade cement so I trusted and hired him. Looking at this cement I feel that he does not use good grade cement. Also his workers are very sloppy. Last year that got cement on the portions of my yard that I was not repairing and on my sidewalk. I complained but once dried it would not come out. Also this year doing the new repair they got concrete on my cement portion that they did last summer. Kazi also subcontracted someone to do stainless steel railing for me. After that job a few pieces fell off and they were welded back on. After a few months one piece fell of again. I told Kazi to just get the guy that did the job to just put a cap. He told me three weeks ago that the guy was on vacation I just spoke to him yesterday and he again told me that the guy will still be on vacation for another month. I don't believe him. So I told him that I can't have the railing like this because rain is going into the railings so he told me to pay for someone to fix it. I had so much stress. He is a pleasant man and I thought he would satisfy me if I was not satisfied, which was a lot, but once he had his money I had a hard time getting his to come. His workers are not professional.

I was very pleased with the work and he truly took care to make sure we were satisfied with all portions of the project, we were especially impressed that he offered to paint the entire fence for no extra charge. I do feel, however, that he was a bit pricey for the work that was completed, I would consider hiring him again in the future for similar work but would likely shop around for a lower rate prior to scheduling with this company again.

It didnt. He never kept the appointment or apologized for not showing up. I cant believe all these A ratings. This individual was about the worse contracter I have ever dealt with. Many people in my neighborhood have told me similar stories, but I will not repeat them here. Angies List better start screening and verifying these reviews. I think its their relatives and friends just giving them a made up A rating. Angies List better get on this or their reputation will be down the drain.

Mr. Kazi from Rahat Contracting Co. did a wonderful job. He contracted all of the right people for the job. Mr. Kazi was very professional, accomidating and intricately involved with the entire process. The workers removed the rubbish left from the project. I am very pleased with the final presentation of my home, front yard and sidewalk.

Kazi is a very nice man. Who earnestly strives for complete customer satisfaction. He listened to our requests and made good suggestions for the successful completion of the job. His prices are fair and market competitive. Kazi and his crew reliably kept all appointments, arrived on time, worked neatly, and cleaned up the work area each day. Kazi frequently checked in with us and his crew, which was very helpful.

He responded quickly to contact, set up appointment quickly and was punctual with meeting. Provided written contract with details of the job and total cost. They were neat and tidy in the house-covering floors and furniture. They arrived each day at the expected time and would notify us in advance if they were unable to come due to weather. Review of this work is two separate stories. We hired them for three tasks: pointing and sealing back wall bricks, replacing first floor patio bricks to improve draining and sealing deck on second level as well as creating a gradation so water would drain away from the house.. The quality of the brick work he did on the back wall was outstanding. The scraping rust off and painting the metal deck frame and steps was quite good. In the regrading of ground floor patio took 3 times to get it right and the first two times we had to point out that it wasn't draining correctly. He did not argue with our assessment at any time. The three times that this part of the project required attention, caused a lot of cement fragments and broken bricks that they left behind for us to deal with, along with cigarette butts and food wrappers-all in our backyard. In regarding to the second floor deck, the sealing of the deck is fine however, when we discussed the job, he indicated that a layer of cement would need to be roughed up so new cement could be laid to create the slope. However, when this part of the job was addressed he did not want to chop up the deck and suggested making a trough on the deck to direct the water away from the house-it looked horrible so they covered it up. He did give us a few alternative suggestions as to how to complete the task-we have opted not to use him for the next part. Despite the fact that he did not complete this part, he expected full payment saying that he did what we wanted but we didn't like it. We were able to negotiate a small reduction in the cost. While his workers were polite and honest, their command of spoken English made it difficult to communicate with them.

Kazi and his guys were always on time or came before the scheduled time. This was fine for me because I am very busy so the earlier you can come and finish, the better. The concrete poured for my yard and storefront came out great. My neighbors all said it was a great job. However, I was not happy about the job done in my basement because it looked more like an afterthought. I expressed my view of the work to Kazi and his guys arrived the next morning to make it more aesthetically pleasing. I will need to get more work done in that area of the basement to get it where it needs to be but, I wish I was given advice upfront of what should be done to properly fixed the area the way I needed so that it wouldn't have to be done in 2 parts. Overall, my husband and I would use them again.

After cancelling 2 appointments, I told him to forget it. If he can't keep his appointments, why are you in this business? If he is busy, just take a pass on my project and I would appreciate the honesty. I hope the next customer can give him better review.

Kazi and his crew were fantastic. They were punctual, came in and did an excellent job on my deck, gazebo and bridge. I will definately recommend them to my friends.

Kazi may be the most prompt and punctual contractor out there! We contacted him and within a couple of hours on a Sunday he was there to quote the job and started just a few days later at our convenience. He was friendly, courteous and speedy, as were his crew. This was not an easy job as the deck is on the 5th floor and with no elevator so his team had to work hard to remove the old materials and bring in the new. The job took 3 days in total - a day removing, a day building and a day painting. He was very keen to make sure he communicated clearly about what they were doing, and re-quoted when some additional roof repairs were needed (revealed when the old decking was removed) The job was done very quickly indeed and to a very good standard. We would certainly recommend Kazi and may well use Rahat Consulting again in future for other jobs.

It went very well and I couldn't have been more pleased with the outcome. He arrived on time, got right to the job and asked me to come outside once to show me what he encountered and how to remedy the problem. He actually did more than I expected and he was very professional and reliable as well as courteous.... I would highly recommend him and will in fact have him back very shortly to do a number of various jobs. He's my new GO TO GUY !!!!

Although we decided to go with another bid. They scheduled a time to meet and was punctual. They were thorough with the work that needed to be performed and was timely providing a good bid.

Rahat came on time to inspect the work needed. Gave us an itmeized list with a total price. Came when he said he was going to, Did the work that he said he was going to do and completed it in a professional way. I highly recommend him.

We had water damage to a room and he suggesting caulking cracks in the sidewalk on the exterior outside of that room for $500 (which he admitted was only a quick fix....but according to water proofers we spoke to later it would have been close to worthless). He wouldn't put anything in writing, so we wouldn't use him even if we thought he could do a good job.

Kazi was a pleasure to work with. He is very responsive and went out of his way to schedule the job at our convenience. He arrived with a team of 2 and completed the work on time. I will gladly work with Kazi again in the future. Thanks Rahat Contracting!

They did a great job showing up at 8a and leaving at 4p. They came in, looked everything over, gave a very fair estimate and finished on time. My neighbors have given me compliments. They cleaned up after themselves. I would use them again and highly recommend them.
