Park Slope Kitchen Gallery is a pleasant and convenient showroom for kitchen cabinets, countertops, and related items such as faucets. What we found frustrating was the difficulty in getting a handle on the range of options and price without plunging into the details of the project. The saleswoman was professional and helpful, up to a point. When we came in to see whether their cabinets were in our price range, she started by creating a diagram of our kitchen and having us choose specific cabinet options. Then we had to wait several days for her to e-mail us a quote. Large stores such as Lowes or Ikea give a price based on a standard known as a 10 x 10' sample kitchen so that you can make price comparisons among brands and stores. This was not available for the brands they carried. Perhaps because it is a relatively small showroom, not all the cabinet styles and finishes were on display. There were no brochures from the company whose cabinets we were considering (in fact, it took over a month to get one). There was no way to see all the different kinds of cabinets and options they offered without going home and looking up the company on the Internet. There was no way to see what the cabinets looked like installed (unless it happened to be one of the handful they had on display) or test the different kinds of drawers and slide-out shelves. We asked if we could see an existing kitchen with similar cabinets that they had sold. Although she promised to ask permission of a previous customer, this never happened. The saleswoman was responsive to the changes we needed to make in the original plan and suggested options to try to keep it within our budget. However, when we asked for a change in the plans or how a different option would affect the price, it took a long time for her to get back to us with a price. Even so, we still thought would purchase our cabinets from them. However, we stopped by Lowes for a price comparison, and were so pleased with not only the range of offerings but also, to our amazement, the service, that we purchased from them and never went back to Park Slope Kitchen. The quality of the cabinets we were looking at seemed good, and the quoted prices were reasonable. Since we never finished designing the kitchen there, we don't know how it would have compared with what we eventually bought.
Description of Work: We were looking for mid-range, semi-custom kitchen cabinets. The "designer," used professional software to create a model of our kitchen, place cabinets, and come up with a quote. If we had bought the cabinets from them, she would have come to our house to measure, and then ordered the cabinets from the company.
