+ -1 moreOur Bosch Dryer Door Handle broke off. My wife called NYC Appliance Repair and they said they would come over and would charge $109 to fix it. The repairman came over and didn't have the part so took a check for $119 and left and then we got a call that it would cost another $190, saying they needed special parts and a special kit. I did some research and the part cost me $21 which I ordered and found on youtube a one minute teach-in. I did the repair easily, all I needed was a Torx screwdriver. So I am not sure why this vendor was trying to bill us over $300 (which was about 1/3 the price of the Dryer) for a plastic door handle that needed three screws to be rotated. And also why they quoted $109 and then escalated to over $300. BTW, I am assuming this is the correct NYC Appliance Repair. There are two listed on Angie's list. The invoice I have doesn't provide vendor's address.
