Dominick responded immediately to the request for service. He spoke with my mother in great detail on the phone and explained that she just needed a less expensive service. He spent a great deal of time on the initial call as well as the actual day of appraisal answering all questions. He and his team went well beyond the required service and really put my mother at ease. Dominick and his team are outstanding professionals and dedicated to their clients. I highly recommend their services and would definitely use them again.

Domenick Neglia is very professional and responsive: he gets back to you very quickly if you have any questions or concerns. I needed to get a 5-story brownstone appraised for estate tax purposes as well as for prepping our eventual listing. Domenick got back to me within hours of my request, and we had an appraisal scheduled within a week. The appraisals were returned to me on schedule via email and post. The initial figures were less than what I expected, and once I confirmed my findings with other listings, I contacted Domenick with my concerns. He immediately reviewed the appraisal and compared his comps to mine, and within a couple of days agreed that the property needed to be compared with a tighter grouping of comps. Once he did this, his new value approached what I expected, and he re-issued the appraisals at no additional charge. The property is located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, where its address matters almost more than the condition of the building: looking at a comp between Central Park West and Columbus is far different than one a block away, between Columbus and Amsterdam. Domenick was not hesitant to admit that a mistake had been made, and was very quick to fix that mistake. I have tremendous respect for his doing that. Don't let the $2,300 bill discourage you from using Neglia Appraisals: while a little high, remember I needed two appraisals of a 6,000 sq. ft. building, in a Landmarked section of the Upper West Side -- it was a very complicated appraisal, when compared to a 1,500 sq. ft. ranch home on a corner lot somewhere else. Be more concerned about his customer service and desire to do the best job possible. I would use Domenick again any time, and recommend that others do so as well.

The appraisal went very well. I had an excellent discussion with Dominick when I first called and he answered all my questions and provided good advice. The appraiser was very punctual and she did a professional job. The final report was excellent and met my expectations. I would highly recommend.

Domenick Neglia was a pleasure to deal with and did an excellent job. I am an attorney. He provided me with an affidavit and supporting appraisal for litigation. The appraisal was very thorough and professional. It had to be done without access to the house. It was 14 pages long, including descriptive addendum and photographs. I had called several other appraisers, and either their prices were much higher or they did not give me the impression that they could do the job well.

My brother made an appointment to have our family home in Flushing, Queens appraised. He called about a week before and the appointment was set for Friday, Feb. 20 at 10 AM. The appraiser cancelled the appointment. She called at about 9:30 AM to say her mother was suddenly taken ill, had to be rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery and the appraiser would call to reschedule. She never did. When my brother called the office a day later, the speaker did not know about the appraiser's emergency but was sure it was real and we would be contacted soon. As of that Monday, no one at Neglia bothered to follow up with my brother. Also, the quotes from other appraisers on Angie's List for single family homes in our area were between $300 - $500. Over the phone, the appraiser from Neglia quoted my brother $650, which seemed high to him, but because Neglia had gotten an A rating, he thought he would let it go. My brother took a day off from work, left his home on Long Island and slept over at the Queens address to be certain to be there that Friday morning. Now, maybe the appraiser suffered a true emergency with her mother. If so, we wish her the best. However, that was no excuse for a professional company to not have someone follow up after OUR follow up.

This was the week before the labor day holiday so you can imagine they were pretty booked up and short-handed. Next availability was on Wed after the holidays. I was in a pinch to get the appraisal done as soon as possible. Domenick somehow pulled through and got one of his guys to come on Friday before the holiday! The appraiser, Chris, arrived 15 minutes early before our appointment time, patiently waited for me to arrive at the house, and walked through the process with me. He was professional and down-to-earth. At the end of the inspection, he forgot to bring a receipt but he called the office, gave them my email, and an hour later, I received it in my inbox. A few days later I got the appraisal report emailed to me, pretty thorough. I also asked Domenick for a referral for an engineering inspector which he was happy to give. Nothing but a great experience with these guys. They genuinely want to work with you and they are FAST.

First I checked the Appraisal Institute for an appraiser with an MAI or SRA designation in the Brooklyn area. Then I checked their names in Angie's List. I called three appraisal companies before deciding on Neglia. The first company couldn't fit it into my schedule. The second was more interested in my money than in helping me. Neglia was helpful from the start. I live in Florida, so had to fly up for the appointment. I was under a tight time constraint, and they fit my needs into their schedule. I met the appraiser, who was professional and efficient. She showed up a few minutes earlier than our appointment and was ready to work. Once her survey of the house was completed, she gave me an estimate of when the written report would be finished. It arrived a few days earlier than expected. As I had requested, a hard and digital copy were sent. Everyone, from the office staff to the owner to the appraiser, was a pleasure to work with. I would definitely recommend Neglia Appraisals and would use them again.
