I contacted Maxon based on their excellent reviews on this list. Someone was sent out immediately to give me an estimate. They were very professional and quoted me a price well below other firms. They also reminded me of the Angie's List discount they offer first-time customers. The work itself was well done, they were also punctual and polite. I would definitely recommend Maxon!

The team arrived on time, immediately identified the problems and went to work. They repaired the stucco, painted parts of te stucco that need some paint and replaces a whole gutter. It looks great. And they realigned another gutter and put up support for a spot with some rotten wood. They were quick, professional, clean (they cleaned everything up). and the cost was very reasonable.

Discovered a problem when painting the living room, there was a patch of crumbling drywall. A friend who works construction told me I needed repointing work done as rain/moisture was most likely coming in through the exterior wall. Maxon were about half the price of the other 3 companies I contacted. Mumtaz came on time and gave us an accurate estimate and schedule for how long the work would take. Initially the work was going to be just repointing a three storey wall, and applying a coat of sealant (and recaulking the windows). However, Mumtaz spotted some additional problems with the roof (one of which I had known about myself and had patched up temporarily?so I knew he wasn?t inventing problems), and advised getting those fixed too. I have a flat roof, and the previous roofer had only applied rubber cement to the short vertical walls along the side of the roof (i.e., he hadn?t put in any roofing material). The cement had started to split in places. The previous roofer had also not applied the chemical that turns the roof shiny and grey (I forget what it?s called, but you see it on most flat roofs). Mumtaz took care of all of this, and also replaced the drain from the roof, which was leaking onto the brickwork. All of that for $5800 is a bargain, especially given the other prices we were being quoted. He also removed some graffiti from the side of the house before applying the sealant, and his guys repointed the stoop that abuts the wall they were working on. I held off redoing the plaster in my living room so that I could see the problem had been fixed once we got some heavy rain. The problem has been fixed, and I?m very happy with the work. Mumtaz?s guys cleaned up after themselves quite thoroughly every day when they finished work. Nice guys too. If you plan on hiring Maxon (and I recommend them), just be aware that cash payment is preferred, and partial payment is desired after the first day?s work (at least it was in my case). I wasn?t aware of either of these points going into the project, but luckily the bank was still open when I found out!

Ahmed and employee arrived on time, neatly arranged work space and cleaned up after the work was completed. Since my house is semi-detached and my chimney is connected to my neighbor's - I was a bit nervous about the repair job. The job was excellent. I've previously used the company to do pointing repair work, small exterior paint jobs, including waterproofing exterior surfaces. I find the work to be of high quality and at a reasonable cost. For exterior work on my house, Maxon Construction is my go to guys.

Mumtaz and his team were very professional, courteous, punctual and clean. The access to the roof was through my tenant's apartment and they did a great job managing that. I would definitely use Mumtaz and his crew again without hesitation.

I had severe leaking around a window on the 2nd floor in the rear of the building. Another workman worked on the window sill but was unsuccessful in fixing the problem. Believing that the problem might be cracks in the exterior wall, I called Mumtaz on a Sunday and he went the same afternoon and looked at the job. We met the next day and I gave him a deposit. The job was supposed to take 3 days, but rain was predicted for the 3rd day. Mumtaz and his men arrived promptly on Tuesday & Wednesday morning, worked all day both days to finish the job early. It rained on Thursday as predicted, and happily there was no sign of a leak. I plan on using Maxon Construction again.

Fair price, on time, high quality work. No negatives.

Mr. Ahmet is a true professional and an honest man. He came when he said he would. He did what we said he was going to do and his workers were wonderful people who cleaned up after the job was done. The work was top notch and I am very happy with Maxon Construction. I highly recommend Maxon Construction.

Mumtaz came to my house for an estimate. I was looking to have pointing and the steps on my stoop resurfaced. He was very nice and professional and gave a great estimate. He said the project would take 3 days and he could start that week. I called him the next day to hire him. He said okay and that he'd be in touch to let me know when he could start. Never heard back from him. Called and left two messages - the last one requesting that he at least let me know if he wasn't interested in the job (perhaps he realized it was too small a job at that busy time of year - NOTE: this was back in June) but never heard back. Funny, when he came to give the estimate he actually asked if I got his name & number from Angie's List - guess he didn't care if he got a bad review!

Maxon never called me to arrange for a measurement and price for their services. Another company from Angies's list (Charles Stewart Roofing) came and did a wonerful and professional job in repairing and preparing my roof for solar energy.

In turn, I had to use another vendor off Angie's list.

Maxon Construction overall did a good job. We went through every detail in writing to avoid any confusion or misunderstanding. They did provide everything indicated in our written agreement. Overall, they did a great job and their price was less than other bidders. In closing, I would recommend Maxon Construction. For any additional work you may decide needs to get done, still contact a few bidders as well to always make sure you're getting quality at a fair price.

Excellent work all round - price, execution, final result. Maxon was the only highly rated roofer on Angie's List I called that seemed to be able to get its head around the complexity of the job. That was not seemingly daunted by the difficulty of the job. Or that might have seen the job as not covering a large enough area of roof, that is was not a big enough job. However, the gutter problem was the main issue, complicated by the fact that it was abutted by a gutter next door that was leaking onto, and into, my house. But Maxon cut through the challenge with a simple, stable solution - and did not see the job as insignificant. I've been amazed every time I look to where I used to have leaks. I would recommend Maxon highly enough to insist that my next door neighbor use Maxon to solve his roof issues. Anyone else would do well, too, to consider this company, and I consider myself very lucky to have found Maxon - given the ongoing roof and gutter issues I've had over the years. As a matter of fact, I'[m about to call Mumtaz right now because of some issues on another part of the house that other roofers have not yet solved.

Ahmed and his workers were very punctual. They showed up, did all the work and cleaned up leaving no trace of construction. While they were there I also had them do some repointing of brick in the front of my house. Looks great...... Would recommend them.

After having received a very reasonable price estimate, I hired Maxon Construction to repoint and powerwash the bricks surrounding the stoop (and that wrap around the front yard). Mumtaz was punctual, professional and his crew was competent. He delivered exactly what he said he would, on time. He also didn't make me feel rushed when I had questions. The stoop looks great and I am looking forward to having him repoint the front of my house this summer.

Mumtaz was responsive, had great advice and was clearly committed to doing a great job. His workers were meticulous, punctual, and incredibly hard working. As soon as we agreed on the work, it began immediately and despite a couple of days of rain, work was completed flawlessly within a week, everything left totally clean. This was our best contractor experience yet. I can't think of a single complaint. We're really grateful and will definitely use them in the future.

Came and gave estimate. We ok'd and they started the very next day. Worked very diligently- paid attention to details, no paint slops, cleaned up before leaving each day.

Competitive estimate. A+++ service and results. He checked and double checked to make sure that we got exactly what we wanted. I called a number of places to get an estimate to have my driveway resurfaced and few gutters replaced. Some didn't even bother to respond. But Maxon Construction was prompt in giving the estimate and the price was very fair. They worked quickly and did what they said they would when they said they would, did lots of little extras, and stuck to their estimate. Kudos, thanks and five stars.

Mr. Ahmed and his crew did an impeccable job. They arrived early each day at the exact time promised. They were courteous and dedicated to getting the job done. Mr. Ahmed explained every step of the process, and even showed me where I did not need pointing done on the building, which I initially believed I needed. This was great news, as the pointing would have cost more. They completed the job over a 3-day period during the Christmas / New Year holiday. Mr. Ahmed showed me what was causing cracks in the sidewalk and he made recommendations for preventing them in the future. They did a terrific job and I would use them again in a heartbeat. Maxon Construction gets an A+ in my book!

There are no details yet. The job has not be done due to weather conditions. My B rating is just because he hasn't done the job yet. I expect he will earn an A from me once the job is complete. May I make a suggestion to Angie's list... since you are always requesting ratings, whose importance I very much understand, please design your form to accommodate situations such as mine, where the job hasn't been completed, OR when directing your customers to complete the form, say something like "ONLY TO BE COMPLETED FOR WORK ALREADY DONE." I had a bad leak after the heavy rain , I found him in Angies list he came next day to look at it .and come back three days later to fix it .He did a nice job ,no more leak now.

I called Maxon (Mumtaz) on Friday and they showed up promptly on Saturday at 8:30. The job was to paint the exterior wood on two brick houses and clean the gutters.$1200 for the paint work and $200. for cleaning out the gutters. Much of the work was done up on 30' ladders and the rest up on 20' ladders. They came well prepared with all the necessary equipment. I'd requested a premium house paint (Behr, primer and paint combined) and they brought 3 gallons, which was included in the price. They worked steadily from 8:30 to 12:30, scraping and brushing off the old loose paint. They painted carefully and avoided and spills or dripping. After lunch they continued on until 5:00. They secured the site and left it clean. They showed up the next morning on time and went right to work. This time only one man, Joen, came but he was more than capable and an excellent worker. He finished up the painting and the gutters while up on the 30' ladder. He checked, cleaned and adjusted the gutters for the proper pitch. The work was completed by 4;00 and the site was cleaned up well. Payment was 50% Saturday and 50% Sunday when completed. A job well done! Work was done professionally and neatly and about 40' above the ground on a ladder.

That was expensive. He was knowledgeable. He was pretty professional. He did what he said he was gonna do. His price was wonderful. It was a really good price. We haven't had any problems. The roof was done efficiently and well. He could have improved in communication and being a little bit clearer. The paperwork could have been a little bit better. He was pretty good. I'd think about using him again in the future but I very well might.
