I'm a big fan of Lucas Construction.  Through all the jobs, the team always works hard, they stay on budget and on schedule.  I've been very happy with their finishing touches and the final look.

The Lucas team is excellent. They are reliable, professional, extremely tidy. Emilio's suggestions were helpful. They are very pleasant to work with. Highly recommend. They will return to my house shortly to do a major interior paint project in my historic townhouse.

Everything went smoothly and we were fully confident in their ability to get everything done right the first time. I had originally met with three contractors/painters, one of whom was F. Lucas Construction (recommended to me by my organizer). The estimates were all pretty much in line, but 2 of the contractors talked down to me in a 'I know everything, don't you worry litle lady' kind of way, which I found incredibly offensive. Emilio on the other hand, was professional and friendly and didn't talk down to me at all-I felt like I could trust him and that is why I chose to work with his company (the stripping the HVAC unit idea was intriguing to me as well). He helped us pick out paint colors, handled all of the required paperwork (my co-op requires a TON) and even got more lead paint licenses for us(he was certified already, but someone else at the company needed to be too for the co-op to approve the work). I handed over our keys on a Thursday, told my doorman Emilio would be starting work the nxt Monday, and left for India on a Friday. They did all of the work while we were traveling, and Emilio was fantastic about emailing me photo updates throughout the entire process. It's a bit odd to be halfway around the world while your apartment is being worked on but we trusted them completely. We were thrilled to come home to our gorgeous 'new' apartment. They left our apartment neater than we had left it when we left for our vacation!
