Gabriel's Iron Works

Gabriel Iron Works service was quick and the staff was friendly. We’re highly satisfied with the outcome of our front house gate. Our first and not our last time working with them. The experience was outstanding. Thank you.

Gabriel is completely and totally unreliable. He came out to give me an estimate on some work we needed performed on an iron gate. No follow-up from him whatsoever. After I followed up myself, I finally received an estimate for PART of the work. Asked for an estimate for the full job. No response. Followed up again. Still no response. Finally, I booked a date just for the partial work. I reached out and confirmed in advance THREE times. The date comes when Gabriel is supposed to perform the work, I hear nothing from him or his office. I call to confirm and am told they didn't have me on the schedule and Gabriel couldn't get to me that day. Complete waste of time and highly inconvenient. Hire Gabriel at your own risk - chances are, the work will never get done.

The workers did an excellent job. This is a company that I would recommend to my friends and neighbors.

Gabriel's workers did a good, clean job, but I noticed the door was still a little loose and the catch in the door lock was not perfectly engaging into the door frame. I've had some trouble with this gate over the years so I was not optimistic it could ever be perfect but I thought it could be better. I spoke to him about it and the guys came back the next day. They put more anchors into the surrounding concrete and now the gate feels more solid than it's ever been. Bravo!

The men came on time and performed the welding and adjusting to the door and hinges to insure that it would close properly. The other quotes i received for similar work entailed the removal of the door which would have left my home exposed.

When we bought our home there was a huge iron circular staircase outside going from the second floor down to the yard. Aside from being ugly, it took up a lot of space. Gabriel's men showed up on time, removed it quickly, and cleaned up the area.

After I sent in the deposit, they made the door and then came and did the work without telling me. I wanted to be there when they replaced the door. They installed the wrong door and when I called they were rude. They again came out to correct the problem, again without letting me know. The owner was very rude and unprofessional and blamed me for everything. I would not use them ever again.

He never showed up to our scheduled appointment.

Although they showed up late, work was done quickly and looks good. It remains to be seen if when it rains the door will keep the rain out of the basement.

GABRIELS IRONWORKS MANAGER/OWNER SHOWED UP AND WAS VERY NICE, HE INFORMED ME THAT HIS MEN WOULD BE AT MY HOME 1ST THING IN MORNING AND THEY WHERE. HIS WORKERS WERE ALSO VERY NICE AND EXPLAINED TOO ME WHAT THEY WERE GOING TO DO, AND THEY DID IT. THANK YOU GABRIELS IRONWORKS AGAIN.

I made an appointment for Gabriel to come for an appointment. They called and canceled. We rescheduled and he called and canceled. I called for a new appointment and he said he'd be here today at 9-9:30. At 10AM I called and I was told he canceled all his appointments for today and there was no record of an appointment in the book or I would have received a call. Note to Gabriel: all of this was done by my partner so the service address is right but my name is different from the one you have in your records.

Steel door was repaired and it works perfectly, very satisfied would use again.

Very professionaly done. Called in advance to make sure it was a good day. Very organized. Finisnhed the same day, It was a pleasure working with them.

When the work was finally done, I was completely satisfied. However, it was a little difficult getting Gabriel to come give me an estimate. He was 2 hours and 15 minutes late for the initial appointment. But once he came, he was efficient, courteous and very good at explaining what would be done after surveying the job. I have a new basement cover and a new smaller air-conditioning space on my window and I would use him again.

Showed up, did estimate, and did the work when they said they would. They were courteous and work was done fast. Solid staircase and even gave paint information for when I do touch up. Would highly recommend him.

Gabriel came on the same day of request to fix an iron front door gate and transom window above the gate that could not latch due to sagging hinges and layers of paint. It is the front door to the brownstone and the problem created a security risk, as well. His receptionist contacted him immediately in the field and I got a same day appointment. Gabriel appeared promptly, was very courteous and fixed the problem simply at no charge. I tipped him because that kind of customer service should be acknowledged. I highly recommend his services.

Gabriel did not keep the appointment, and the work was not done.

I needed to have this work done as soon as possible because of the potential danger. I called this company in the afternoon, spoke to the proprietor, and he promised to be at my house first thing the next morning. I was really surprised that he offered to be there so soon as I have become skeptical about promises contractors make. To my surprise, he did show up early the next morning and did the job well, fast and at a very, very reasonable cost. This was a great experience. Wish all vendors/contractors responded in this way. I would highly recommend him.

I called on Monday, May 21 to schedule an appointment for someone to come by and give me an estimate. The receptionist took my message (didn't think they would even get the message since she asked me 3 times what time they could come out the following day and I told her 3 times they could come by at any time) and then she finally said that someone would come out to my house the following day and would call me. Surprisingly, the next day she called back (May 22) and said that Gabriel is too busy to stop by but will come by tomorrow and he will call me once he gets to my house. Today is Thursday, May 24th and no one has stopped by or even called. I got the job done by someone else who actually called me back.

Left multiple messages for a quote over a 2 week period, even mentioned Angies List. Calls were not returned. Saw this complaint on Brownstoner too.

A few days ago I called Gabriel's Irori Works to have my front wrought iron railing repaired. Within a short time Gabriel returned my call and set up an appointment for 9:00 the next morning. Gabriel arrived on time, gave me a fair estimate and scheduled the repair for 9:00 the next day. His workman showed up on time, completed the work, cleaned up after themselves and even painted the new work to match the existing railing. Prior to joining Angie's List I had contacted other railing companies and received outragous estimates for this same repair. I find Gabriel's Iron Works to be prompt, professional, reliable and fairly priced. I would highly recommended this company to anyone.

Overall, it went excellent. They were on time and very courteous. Their workmanship was great as well. I would use him in the future and would recommend him to others.

I met with Gabriel at the beginning of August 2011 and was initially impressed by his punctuality and professionalism. He showed up on time for the estimate and provided me a written estimate on the spot. I contacted Gabriel about a week later to commission him for the job. I commissioned him to create a cellar door and frame. He had set a date to come out an complete the work. During the interim I phoned him as I wanted him to come out and take some addtional measurements as the hole I had created was completed after he had provided me the initial estimate and I wanted to ensure that he had accurate measurements. When I called to make that appointment, I left two messages and never received a returned call. I ignored that red flag and called and reached him on the 3rd attempt. He was non-apologetic for not returning a call and was rude. I continued to work with him and he sent his guys out to make the measurements, at that time I informed the guys that I also wanted them to create a ladder for my cellar and needed and estimate for the increased scope of work. Originally I was going to use a ladder I already had, but changed my mind and wanted to buy a new ladder. I personally took time to drive to Gabriels shop the day after the guys came out, to meet with Gabriel to discuss the ladder. He was not there, and his employees and stated that they would let him know that I needed an estimate on the ladder. A month later and I never heard back from Gabriel.

Great Job!!!!!! I needed bars on five windows, a lock to be fixed and part of a fence. I spoke with Gabriel, the owner who gave me an estimate. Within about 3 business days the job was complete. The price and quality of the work was excellent. Gabriel and his workers were very pleasant to deal with. They were both fast and extremely efficient. I highly recommend them. Believe me if you call them you will be happy with the incredible low price as well as the high quality of workmanship.

They demolished and removed the deck and the large mountain of wood that made up the deck and the attached swingset. They solidly anchored supports for the new stairs into the wall of the building, and assembled, finished and painted the new deck and stairs. They arrived promptly at 8:30, immediately got to work and worked tirelessly until the job was finished. They cleaned up the area and were overall very professional. We would not hesitate to use them again or recommend their services.
