Description of Work: Good Sales Pitch by Chuck - 49pt check list and discounts available discussed - advised chuck i would prefer no discounts as long as work done properly - Signed on for bi-weekly service - initial 'deep cleaning' service ($10) with follow-up every 2 weeks(approx $110) -I was very clear about the importance of consistency - 49 point service 'sold well' - Deep Cleaning was excellent - follow-up appt set - supposed to be same person and specific time window (9 - 1)- leave information with bldg front desk - several calls from bldg at 3pm with a different person requesting access - cleaning was 'surface' person cleaned where they thought i would look - left candies - easier to just clean - were in apt for less than 1 hr 20 mins according to front desk - gave feedback to office manager 'Chuck' and gave two examples - apartment windows were not cleaned - Chuck advised technically they are not on '49pt check list' I suggested maybe it should be a '50pt' check list - point being that if i walk into apt and cleaning company just there windows should be clean - not rocket science - oh - it took 3 days to get in contact with Maidpro -thought we had a good conversation and I advised I would contact after an overseas trip - sent email and phone msg on my return - 'was going to give them a 2nd chance' as I figured they were a new business and 'mistakes' happen - eventually got 'chuck' - he initially 'didnt receive' email then informed me 'oh - it was in junkmail' oh - i said do you remember me I said i would call you back ---'yes - of course I do how could i forget....' however 2 seconds earlier he tells me he put my email in the 'junk mail' then proceeds to tell me that he doesnt have anyone that can meet my expectations basically as he tells me the 'person who did deep clean' has a full schedule and the 'next best person' is the person who cleaned the apt 2nd time and 'all of her reviews are excellent' so he clearly thinks I just am lying......or making it up .....because thats the kind of time I have on my hands!!!........and needed a cleaning person in the 1st place....Really!! so ..... I thanked chuck..... Obviously - arrogance - poor service - poor communication skill set Does not understand customers expectations especially in the service industry - the toughest business as there is not a specific product attached.....

I’m very happy with them. They do a great job and are very dependable. It cost me $72 for a basic cleaning and when I had a deep cleaning I paid about $125. I’ve been using them for 5 months. Actually, I found them in the neighborhood. They are extremely dependable. They show up when they are supposed to and they come on time. They do a very good job cleaning. I have the same person coming home to do the cleaning every time. So they are dependable, consistent and easy to communicate with. They provide good service. They are extremely reasonable with the prices.
Description of Work: I used Brooklyn MaidPro for housecleaning services. They clean 5 rooms in my house every other week; they came two weeks ago and they are coming tomorrow.

The owner insisted I be home for our first service date so that I could give the cleaner our keys. No problem. Our cleaner came and worked her butt off. However, she immediately began dropping hints that she was unhappy at Maidpro and wanted for me to hire her independently. I told her I repeatedly I could not do so as my co-op required only licensed workers. This topic came up several times- I was often not home when she would clean, but whenever I was she would ask. At one point, she even called me at work and left a message about how badly she and the other cleaners were treated at MaidPro- no benefits, they were only paid $10 an hour of the $34 we were charged, no days off, no control of their own schedule, no assistance with transportation between client sites, how the owner had booked her to clean a home in LI (a few hours away by bus/train) and when she got there the house was locked and she couldn't get in so she didn't get paid. I mean- it just sounds terrible, but you never know who to believe. I would suggest anyone interested in hiring MaidPro ask some serious questions about how their workers are treated- it felt unethical to me which was part of the reason we stopped using them. We also weren't happy with the overall service. Our cleaner broke several items- at first she would leave me notes saying that she'd broken our soap dish, our champagne glass, another champagne glass, then three wine glasses.... but then she stopped leaving notes and I'd notice we were down a plate and then find pieces of the plate under the cabinet a few days later. Overtime, the level of cleaning dropped to the point where it was apparent she was just throwing Comet into the shower without scrubbing it in or even bothering to wash it off. I asked our cleaner if she could clean the shower better and she told me that another one of clients had asked her to clean a tub and she fell in and hurt herself badly and could no longer lift her arms and the owner of MaidPro wouldn't pay for her to go to the doctor... I mean... just crazy stuff. It was a very uncomfortable situation. I called the owner a few times and asked him to call me as I wanted to discuss being assigned a new cleaner and he never returned my calls. The final straw was when I was home one day when the cleaner was there. She was vacuuming and I heard the vacuum making an odd noise. Thinking she'd stop soon to check the noise, I ignored it for a few minutes. Finally, I couldn't take it any longer and I went into the apartment and asked her if she thought the vacuum sounded funny. She says yes. She checks it and she had sucked up a pair of my slippers. We removed the slippers, but the vacuum was broken- the suction would no longer work. I took it to an appliance repair shop and spent $140 on a new motor. When she was done for the day, I asked her to leave my keys as I wasn't going to need a cleaner any longer. She forgot to leave them. I had to call the owner several times to ask for my keys back. He finally replied that he was putting them in the mail. I received an empty envelope- no padding- with a key chain, but no keys. I called him several times to tell him how unwise his idea to send someone keys (with name and address) in an unpadded envelope and how I was going to have to chain my locks because of him. He offered to pay for my lock change ($136), but it's been 3 months and I've received nothing. I echo the other reviewer's comments about scheduling and last-minute cancelations. Overall, I was disappointed with the level of service for the price and lack of professionalism. I would not suggest MaidPro again. It should be noted that MaidPro appears to be a franchise and other locations may be run better.
Description of Work: I was attached to using Maid Pro based on the fact that they're insured and advertise as a professional service. We used them for approximately 1.5 years to clean our ~550 square ft one bedroom apartment. We have two cats. Our cleaner came every two weeks and we were charged $68 for a 2-hour cleaning.

Maidpro.com shoves a 49 point cleaning checklist in your face and brags that they do the entire list during each clean. We were quoted a price of $68 to clean an approximately 800 square foot two bedroom apartment every two weeks. The first cleaning went fine. The second cleaning was supposed to be on the day before Thanksgiving, a Wednesday. We got a call from the manager 20 minutes before the maid was supposed to come telling us that she called out sick but could come that Sunday and that we could have a discount on the cleaning. I told him that this was unacceptable given the holiday weekend and the fact that we were having company. I asked if he could get a replacement maid for that Friday and he called back 5 minutes later telling me that this was possible. Why hadn't he done this in the first place instead of waiting for me to ask? When the maid did come Friday, she cleaned for two hours and then said she was leaving. We asked her about the dirty dishes (which are on the 49 point checklist) and she replied that she was only scheduled for 2 hours. We immediately inspected our statement from the company to find that we were indeed being charged $68 for two hours. Why would a company quote me a price including a 49 point check list and then set a time limit given that price? The website is designed purposely to trick people into thinking the price they are quoted will include everything on the 49 point checklist. When I called to cancel the service today, I politely referenced the misleading nature of the website. The manager neither apologized nor attempted to explain the misleading site nor attempted to offer some sort of alternative service or payment. In other words, he made no attempt to retain a customer. When I asked about the discount, he told me that he, for some reason, assumed that there would be no discount since the missed cleaning was rescheduled for Friday. The cleaning was good, but $34 per hour is absurd.
Description of Work: The cleaning aspect of this company is fine. The cleaning people were on time, polite, and did a very good job of what they actually cleaned. The problem was with the company itself.
