I had a problem with a circuit of electrical outlets. I called and had scheduled an electrician for that very afternoon. They even came early. It turned out that a neutral wire inside the circuit breaker had blown. A half an hour from their arrival everything was fixed and they were gone. I thought the bill was reasonable for the work provided I would definitely call them again.

The guys (Frank and Steve) were quick to respond via phone and email, were *mostly* punctual (they did call if they were running late or got stuck in traffic), and got the job done quickly and efficiently. (It was a more difficult job than we'd anticipated, Blaze was the third electrician to come in and take a look at it, and the only ones to actually get the job done correctly). They were a bit more expensive than some of the other quotes we received, but we went with them because they seemed to be the most reponsive and professional. Some of the patching job was a little bit sloppy -- but nothing a few minutes with a sanding block won't fix. I highly recommend them, and would call them again for future projects.
Description of Work: Blaze fixed a broken 3-way light switch, electric socket, and ceiling fan -- which entailed running new wires and then patching the walls.

I'm really frustrated with this company. I didn't like the quality of the work. I always had to chase them to get them to come out and they didn't know what they were doing with the dimmers which still haven't been finished.

The customer hired us to install fixtures and dimmer that he had purchased. Upon installing the dimmer my serviceman found that it was not the correct dimmer for the fixtures that he had purchased. My serviceman then told him to purchase the correct dimmer and that we would come back and install the new dimmer. The customer had never call the office and notified the owner of what was going on. My serviceman should have told the customer he would pick up the correct dimmer and just change him for the part but he didn't and I was not aware of this. Had he contacted me I would have had my serviceman do that. When I read the review I called the customer and told him I was sorry this happened and that we could purchase the dimmer and install it for him and he said he refused my services. I am sorry it went this way and I would hope that if any of my customers have a problem they would call my office so that I can take care of it for them. If I don't know about it I cant fix it.

Called Blaze after seeing great reviews. He said he could come the next day ,great! Then he said he had someone who could come that day and was sending him over. The job was a wall socket with a loose wire. I showed him which one it was and he pulled it out and reconnected the wires. 15 min. The PRICE $150.00. I thought it was excessive . Called him and he said that was standard ,no matter what. Would not use him again. Also, his guy that he sent was promoting his own co, thought that was really cheesy.

This was a Con Edison outage. I am sure that my serviceman gave the customer the address to mail a copy of the bill to Con Edison for a full refund so it will not cost the customer anyting for this call. The customer just has to layout the money and wait till Con Edison sends them a check. The is no cost to the customer once they get the full refund even the tax.

Blaze Electric came promptly to give us an estimate. Frank (owner) was very knowledgeable and gave us a very reasonable price. We hired him to do the work. It was scheduled for a Monday but due to the rain, it had to be postponed. He said he'd do the work the next day weather permitting. Weather was fine and he was there promptly at the time indicated. The electrician was courteous, skilled, and got the job done without a hitch! There were no obstacles he couldn't handle. I am very pleased with the quality of the work, the professionalism and the level of knowledge the men had. If I have another electrical job, Blaze Electric will be the one I call to do it.

Terrific. I called at 6pm, hoping (but not expecting) to reach someone. Even though this was a non-urgent call, Frank was able to set up the visit for the following afternoon -- and this morning, they called and said that they could come by at 10:00am if I was available. Even better! I'd hung a fan myself but it didn't work. When I looked back in the switch box, I saw something unusual that made me want to bring in a professional. The electrician who arrived was friendly, and he nicely showed me what I'd done wrong (a wire had come loose, but he showed me how I could have prevented it), explained what was going on in the switch box that had concerned me, and fixed the installation in minutes. He then hung a second fan in another bedroom: again, quickly, simply, and effectively. I don't like paying for services like this, because I think I should be able to do it myself. If all trades experiences went like this, though, I 'd probably lose that dumb attitude. This was fast, fairly priced, pleasant, and it solved my problem. What's not to like?

The gentlemen who came was courteous and friendly, but I can't help feeling hosed by how much he charged for the little work that he did and how much he wanted to charge for an additional small amount of work. The individual right away determined that the GFI switch in the shed had simply flipped . I felt pretty silly that I hadn't thought to try that myself. As for the power in the bedroom issue, he assessed that there was only one line running to the breaker, and that I would need to pull an additional line into the bedroom to assure that I had enough power to run the air conditioner. Since I've recently run 3 lines into my attic, he said I could use one of those lines, since they're run adjacent to the bedroom. When we were done, he charged me $175 for coming down and essentially flipping a GFI switch and for analyzing what I needed in the bedroom. He said that it would be $550 to run the line to an outlet by the window. I paid him without complaint, partially becuase I had someone visiting and a lot going on. But in retrospect, I was overcharged, even in terms of time spent, for what amounted to no work. Wth regard to the additional line, I initially agreed to the price, not having any idea how much these things are supposed to cost. But having had the chance to talk to a few people, they are in agreement that I was being grossly overcharged and I have since called to cancel the scheduled appointment.
Description of Work: The issue I have is not with the quality of the work. It's just that I feel that i was taken advantage of in terms of charges. I called them to come and address two issues: 1. My shed no longer had any power. 2. I was trying to figure out why we had so many items on one circuit with the aim of ensuring that I had sufficient power to run an air conditioner in one of the bedrooms.

I am sorry that you feel you were overcharged, but that is a service call. It cost me gas for my truck and time for my men to come out to fix what was wrong however miner it may be. If it was a free estimate on doing new lighting than I would come and give you a price but when my men come to do a service call not knowing what is wrong and they have to trouble shoot I have to pay them and put gas in my truck so how fair would it be to me not to get a paid service call.

Don't let his somewhat gruff manner fool you, Frank and Blaze are great. We got several quotes and went with Blaze because they beat everyone out. Throughout the job, Frank and his guys were easy to reach and schedule. They flowed with us through a few SNAFU's. They worked well with our contractor. A couple of guys (not all) were a little less than super careful about handling and placement of fixtures, but were quick to fix--to be fair, we might have given a bit more direction and oversight. Overall, I would highly recommend Blaze.

After taking over a month to schedule and paying $800 to install two lights my new construction condo looks like a disaster area. Fingerprints on walls and doors. Trash left throughout work area. And I have six (6!) holes to fill in my walls and ceiling and need to repaint. I'm happy to post pictures but doesn't seem like I'm able. I don't even have words for my frustration.

I was really sorry that (Member name removed) was not happy with the job that was done. After speaking with my service man, he informed me that he had told her that he had to make holes to get the wires through the walls. I also informed her that on the proposal it says we do not do any patching and painting. Two men were at her apartment for 6 hours and the material cost me $100.00. They also cleaned up all of the waste that was left. The mess that she is talking about is the holes that she was told about before my men started. She then sent me an email about how unhappy she was and that she showed 10 neighbors the pictures. She sent me the pictures and there was no mess, only the holes that she was told about. The job was $800.00 for 6 hours with two men material included in Manhattan and (Member name removed) thinks it was to much. She also wrote me that she had 8 holes and now there are 6. I have the pictures on my computer and everything was cleaned up. All I saw was the holes that made her unhappy. She is stating that we left trash all throughout the work area but she sent me pictures and it was all cleaned up. My best and cleanest crew went and they clean up everything. I am insulted that she would say these things after all. I also had to get a certificate of insurance for this job. I don't know any electrician that can snake wires without making holes when there are beams in the walls. This is the email she sent why it took a month. Thanks. Sorry if I missed it - been out of the country for the last month Sent from my iPhone On Apr 23, 2014, at 9:07 PM, FBlazeElectric@aol.com wrote: Hi (Member name removed), Here is another copy of the certificate of insurance. I was very unhappy with the service and did not call them back to do the work. I called another provider and got the work done for $100.00 and both lights are working fine.
Description of Work: I had an electrical problem with a hall light that continued to go out after numerous repairs. We'd put a new bulb in and the next day or two the bulb was gone and the light would not work. My goal was to have the electrician ascertain what the problem was and give me a price. The initial service was $175 with a $25 discount. When the representative came to my home and told me the cost of repair I thought it was exorbitant ($800. to get a hall and bedroom light working again. He didn't tell me what was wrong the lights that prevented them from working but said they were going to run a wire from the hall fixture. I asked if they were going to run the wire up from the basement or the point of origin and they said no. I told the contractor that I would have to get another opinion ( my sister gave him access to the building as I was not home) and he told my sister he would be back the next day to complete the repair. He left the ladder up in the hall, left loose live wires hanging from the ceiling and told my sister to write him a check made out to cash (he later explained he did this because he wanted to save the customers taxes).

I am writing this email because I don't know who was at this womans house but it was not us. Our service call is $150.00 for the first half hour and $50.00 every half hour after that. We would have charged $225.00 plus tax and then taken off for the coupon for a 75 minute call. We never charged $79.00 as long as we are in business. I spoke with my service man and he has no record of that call. My husband Frank said a woman called but he told her we don't repair lamps or any kind of fixture. Please look into this and get back to me.

Light fixture(chandelier) was not working and a kitchen light was out. Was initially satisfied with the work but after less than 2 weeks the light was out again in the kitchen. Called Frank, he informed me that to replace a light bulb would be a service call of an additional $175. So on his advice I checked the light bulb and that was not the source of the problem. Called him back. Now I was to fax him a copy of my reciept. Did that and called him. Now he was not taking my calls but his worker who did the repairs called. The young man says to me well it worked for approximately 3 weeks, what do you want??? Then goes on to say, if you pay to have the chandelier rehung then I look at the kitchen light again and trouble shoot the problem. Did I not pay to have you troubleshoot the 1st time you were there... This company is truly unprofessional, rude and has no idea what customer service entails. I will go as far as to say they deal in thievery. Do stay away!!
