Horrible. It was very hard choosing between D and F for most categories, but the details can refine your view of BK. First and foremost, the job is still not completed, and they were paid in full. BK started out great; first one to contact us and give estimate, gave best price and earliest start date. When we had them come back to hire a month later, price for same job went up almost $1,000 but said they could start within a couple days and finish within the week they started. They showed up within a couple days to begin the job but the rest of the details were a nightmare. Guy we hired only showed up to drop off workers and pick them up at end of day; there was no supervision and the workers appeared to speak very little English. The first day, the workers left a lot of garbage around the property for us to clean, both from the work and from their lunch; they ate lunch by the front of our house, even though we offered them to sit at the table in our backyard, and they discarded all their debris, including uneaten food (chicken, noodles, etc.) on the dirt in the front of our house. They also declined the use of our bathroom even though they were working at our home all day. On the first day they rehung the gates to the side of our home but the gates did not open or close. When I first contacted the owner of BK about this, he told me that I paid to have the gates hung but the contract did not specify that they were to be in working order. He said if we wanted them to work that it would be additional money. We were also told that they had other jobs and they did not know when they could get back to our house even though the main worker assured me that they would be back tomorrow to complete the job. The owner said that the workers had no authority to say when they would be back to anyones home. It was at that point we had realized that we had made a very expensive mistake. The second time they showed up at our home (which was the alleged completion day and was almost a week later), the owner said that he was dropping off a large crew to get the job finished. It was Sunday morning and there were 3 men (hardly a large crew) dropped off at our home at about 8am. One of the guys he brought was petrified of dogs (and we have 2 completely non-aggressive White Shepherds). The 3 guys sat outside our home and did not start any work until I outside to talk to them at about 10am. The guy asked me if the dogs were going to be in the house and said they could not start working until they confirmed if the dogs were home. (My younger dog - who is an escape artist but only one year old - was taken to stay with his trainer during the previous Monday when they worked.) I explained to the worker that I told the owner that I would have both dogs in the house with me if any work was scheduled on Sunday. Our other dog is an elderly Shepherd that can hardly walk. Subsequently, calls went back and forth about the dog issue, and the workers were picked up at about noon after doing minimal work and I was told that they had no idea when they could get back to my house. To make what could be a very long story, shorter, after a few arguments, countless messages and calls, and a couple more days of uncompleted work at our home, the job was now going into its first full month of what was promised to be a week. And please note that every time the job ran into a small issue, BK kept claiming that every nook, cranny and extra bend at the waist would be extra money. Seriously, who ever heard of hanging a gate that does not include being able to open and close it in the price to hang it? On the last day BK showed to do work, the gate was now opening and closing, and most of the iron that was to be sanded and painted was done - for the most part - but not completely. By the time BK claimed to be done, 2 family members were away and not able to assist with inspecting the work. In fact, the owner only came to pick up his guys and only attended to fix the unpainted spots that I could point out on the last day he was there. I am disabled and cannot kneel down or bend over. Before BK was paid, the owner acknowledged that he was going to come back to install a lock for one of the gates he promised us, and acknowledged he also owed us screws (he claimed he did not have them on his truck) on a gate handle that comes off in your hand every time it is used to open the gate. He also knew that there were several unpainted surfaces underneath the railings that could not be seen and promised he would come back to complete the work. The next day I also contacted him and informed him that there were a lot more entire areas left unpainted; like the whole side of the railings that were facing the plants, the underneath of the sides and the gates, etc. Its as if BK workers only painted the surfaced that were visible to them upon first inspection and did not paint anything underneath or behind anything. Further, I am not sure if it was the paint, the temperature, or the work, but many of the areas, especially where the painted surfaces met the unpainted surfaces, are starting to peel. We were left a small amount of touch up paint but it was not nearly enough to cover all of the unpainted surfaces. I would be happy to revise this review if BK would come back to complete and correct the job. I have called and text messaged the owner over the past few weeks and have not heard from him. Very unhappy.
