Best Glazing

What can I say? Avi is a careful, meticulous and professional Owner Operator. Our bathroom was a horrendous purple tiled bathroom from the 50s that was in desperate need of a quick facelift. Avi did his magic and turned the bathroom a pristine white. The bathroom looks new. One of the things I most appreciate from Avi was his attention to detail, communication style and neatness. He was careful to mask everything in the bathroom and also mask off doorways to contain any stray dust or fumes that managed to escape from the bathroom during spraying. I highly recommend Avi if your bathroom needs a facelift.

I initially didn't want to have to write this review because the guy, Avi, was so upset at the time that I felt bad for him, but he has since taken no responsibility for destroying my bathtub so I have to be honest. He doesn't know his profession. He arrived at my apartment and used rock miracle to strip a fiberglass Kohler jacuzzi. I was concerned enough to tell him that I didn't think he should get stripper on the jets (which he said would be fine because they were "hard plastic") by which time they were already melting. The entire tub then started to disintegrate. Crevices were appearing at the bottom. To summarize what happened next, Avi said he had never seen anything like it before, he panicked, said that to be honest he didn't know how to fix it, and he left. He did say he would come back the following week with his brother when he'd thought about what could be done but that he thought the only option was for me to buy a new tub. (It's a custom sized jacuzzi.) That afternoon, he called to say that his brother, who works for an unaffiliated company, would stop by. When his brother arrived, he pointed out that you can never ever strip fiberglass (which Avi should have known) but that he could give me an 80% improvement there and then. He needed to charge significantly more to bond and repair the damage to make the tub useable and while it's a lot worse than it was before, he managed to do an excellent job of saving it. He's coming back to sand out more of the damage when this coat has cured, and I very much appreciated his professionalism and willingness to tackle the problem. I cannot stress enough that you would be using Best Glazing at your own risk. Avi created a problem he couldn't solve it, and he's NOT insured. We'll have paid at least double to fix his mistake.

I called him a few months ago and the only time he could come out was a Monday. I couldn?t do that. I called him back this week and he said he could come out on Friday. I told him what he originally quoted me and he laughed about it. He said the work would be an extra $50 and then he told me later it would be $60. When I agreed to the price, he refused to do it. He is trying to weasel his way out of the work. I called a second company from the list and they agreed to honor the rate of $275 with no hassle and no negotiation, unlike Best Glazing.

Avi gave me a competitive price and took as long as he said he would. The quality was better than I expected! It is so awesome! What a beautiful job!! Hire him!

He did a good job re-glazing the bathtub, however and gave me the receipt for only 1 year warranty instead of 5 year warranty we had originally talked about. .

Avi was very professional and surprised to know that his services have been heard about in Brooklyn. I receive the Angie's list newsletter and his ad definitely stood out to me. I have been in need of this service for a while and my patience finally paid off. Avi arrived on time as promised and even apologized for having to return because he forgot a tool that he needed. Prior to starting the job, he noticed another imperfection in my tub that I wasn't even concerned about and proceeded to fix that too!! He went straight to work and finished the job in 3 hours, as was told to me. He gave me aftercare instructions and suggested that I caulk the tub to prevent cracks. I could very well get my complex's maintenance crew to fix it, but I think I'll be giving Avi another call. Great work, professional service, all bout business. You won't be sorry.

The contractor arrived on time as promised and got right to work. He explained what he would do and how long it would take. He was very efficient and professional. He completed the job in the time promised, and we are very pleased with the outcome. Overall, it was a positive experience.

Avi is very professional and his responsiveness and kindness is hard to find in the city. Probably the best I've ever seen. Even when I was inquiring his service, he gave me some tips to save money and not to waste the reglazed bathroom. He is very honest and tells you everything he sees and what he can and cannot do. I absolutely appreciated his communication style and constant updates on the work progress. He is also very accommodating. I just bought a new apartment and wanted the filthy bathroom to be updated asap and Avi was kind enough to take the job and get it done in time. The result is amazing. He definitely knows what he is doing! He showed me every single detail of the work he had just done and explained how I should take care of the reglazed areas. I was also in a limited time frame to meet him but every occasion, he made himself available for me. I didn't really compare prices so I don't know where he stands in terms of pricing (hence the B) but given the service I received, I have no regret hiring him and I will use him again for sure. Also, He is VERY trustworthy- which is very important for me and he restored my faith in good business practice. Thanks Avi!

Avi called when he said he would, let us know when he was delayed and why. The scope of our job was larger than I had originally communicated to him. he gave us a fair price and did the work perfectly. He is an excellent communicator.

Avi did a fantastic job and gave very specific instructions on how to protect the tub (we were still doing a bit of work in the bathroom) and ensure it continues to look great for the future. We had a little hiccup on scheduling because he had written my phone number down wrong, but once we figured that out, he was responsive and really did very good work. I love the way my tub looks - brand new!

Avi arrived on time, covered and protected area around where he would be working and vented through my bathroom window to cut down on fumes in the house. It took about 5 hours because he had to remove the old glaze that had previously been done first. We now have a wonderfully bright and beautiful new tub. He also left instructions about care going forward and a written warranty for his work.

He gave us a 1yr warranty but said it should last 8years. He vented everything outside to keep the odor to a minimal. He left written instructions and used professional equipment. He arrived promptly and on time. Everything looks to be done well. He also left his number in case we needed anything further.

Best Glazing did a nice job on the inside of the bathtub... but not sure if they re-glazed the exterior part of it. And, the cleaning of the tiles was okay... not bad but not great. Their niche is definitely re-glazing, and for what they do they do very well. Any other type of work is a hit-or-miss.

Mr. Ouzana first explained that he would apply four coats of a heavy duty paint. We discussed the durability of the results. I had already painstakingly applied several coats of epoxy paint myself and saw it wear away in less than six months. Mr. Ouzana explained that this paint was a heavy duty industrial paint used for car bodies and other such hard wearing surfaces. He cautioned that he normally only applies this to bathroom sinks not kitchen sinks because of the heavier wear that they get when heavy pots and pans are dropped on them. I assured him that I subject my kitchen sink to that kind of wear so he proceeded. First he stripped the remaining epoxy paint that was left on my sink and then filled the chipped areas with a green paste I had never seen before. While that was setting up he masked off the area around the sink. At which point he was ready to paint. This entailed four coats of the paint using an airbrush, passing it horizontally, then vertically, then horizontally, and finally vertically again until there was no sign of the old surface. Instead there was a clean white, very new looking sink. Mr. Ouzana then cleaned up everything and we found his masking had done a perfect job; there was no sign of paint on any other surfaces than the sink. I paid him the agreed upon amount, feeling very satisfied with his work. Throughout the several hours of his work Avi Ouzana was good company, very polite and willing to explain exactly what he was doing. His prices seemed more than fair to me and there were no hidden charges or add ons. All in all I was very pleased with his work.

He came on time and secured all of the openings to the bathroom in order to limit the fumes. He sanded the surface of the tub and applied the glazing with confidence. He knew what he was doing. It took several hours to complete because he was thorough and neat. He cleaned up the entire room with care.

Avi gave me a quote over the phone and in two days he showed up on time and by himself. He reglazed my old bathtub. He was very neat and the tub looks brand new.

Avi and his brother and nephew came to re-glaze my 1928 apartment bathroom which was the standard yellow and black tiles. They spent hours meticulously cleaning and prepping the tiles before glazing the walls, tub (which had to be scraped because of a previous terrible glazing job) and shower. They were super neat and covered everything. The price was excellent, especially for that amount of perfectionism. Avi was easy to reach before and after the job and he came to see it after I put everything back together to double check if anything else needed to be done. I would highly recommend his company and wish I could find other service providers as professional as they were. I also really like Avi personally. He is extremely easy to get along with and very experienced and knowledgeable. BIG KUDOS!
