All Star Moving and Storage has moved me three times and my son twice. They are absolutely fabulous. They most recently moved my belongings from my storage unit to my apartment. They sent two guys and didn't charge me. I got to look through all my belongings that I wanted and whatever I didn't pick they moved back to my storage unit at no cost. I only tipped the two men who were working. If anything ever gets damaged they will send somebody right away to fix it. They are terrific. They give you a price and that's the price. I've had very bad experiences in the past with movers where they quote you a low price and then when they finish they add on a bunch of additional costs.

These movers were recommended to me by another company when I called and they didn't have any time available for my move-date. They sent three guys, who were all polite. They were a bit late, but called to let me know and it wasn't a problem. They took care, and worked efficiently. They set everything up well and exactly as I needed it in the new place. Overall they were great, especially for the price, but when unpacking I did notice that one of my boxes had been damaged (everything in the box was fine though - just a hole in the box). Also, they left some of their trash behind, needed to call up because they left a dolly in my new building and also had to stop back by because they left some personal things at my old apartment. They normally have a 3 hour minimum, but on the phone had quoted me for 2 and 1/4 when I let the man know he honored the estimate without a problem.

Totally, totally great. I would not hesitate to use them again. Nick came and gave me an estimate and made me feel at ease immediately. I already knew that lots of people here had used them, so that increased my confidence. On moving day, the three guys showed up exactly on time (actually 10 minutes early) and proceeded to work the entire day. Nice guys and very hard workers. I wish I could remember their names because they were fabulous. Because of a death in the family I was behind in packing and they took care of everything. They moved several difficult items and took extreme care with everything. I believe they had underestimated how much I had because I am extremely neat and organized, so the job took a lot longer than planned. But they honored their estimate. I had alerted them two days beforehand that I didn't realize there were two elevators in the new location, which required transferring everything from one to the other, down a long hallway. I was told I would be charged extra for the transferring time, which I agreed to and which was appropriate. Because the initial estimate was low, I was concerned that this company (whom I only know from here) would try to make up the difference via the extra time charges. They did not. THIS COMPANY HAS INTEGRITY. The movers were great. They were on time. They were careful with my items. I would absolutely seek them out and use them again and give them my highest recommendation.

They were very good about answering questions and referred me to a self service storage place.

The estimate was good and the explanation of what would happen was clear. The move had to be postponed three days because of house sale issues and they accommodated the change just at cost. The company was reliable and the crew was very cooperative in a complicated situation. Things were packed quite well with no major damage. I liked that the crew chief advised on moving in choices and organized the tipping process. Paperwork inventory was helpfully complete. In comparison to past experiences I have had with moving companies, I recommend All Star without reservation. A senior citizen tenant of mine had a smaller move which also went smoothly. The high ratings of this firm on Angie's List are to be believed.

Went very well and they were incredibly skilled at what they did. One issue was that they did not wrap a plant pot and it broke en route. They immediately offered to drive me to a plant store to buy another one (I declined). Tim's crew was very couteous and he ran a tight ship

Off the bat, I will simply say, that my sister, came to help with my move, and has moved numerous times around the country. Her comment was that she had never seen such an efficient and helpful group of movers. ALL STAR not only gave me a competitive price below their own competition, but were resourceful in my unique split move requirements. The price was guaranteed, though during the move, they asked to increase the price, as my stuff took a lot longer and I had some unusual requirements such as moving a safe. With an additional fee, the costs were still way below all other estimates. Their team of movers were a wonderful New York mix of Jamaican, Georgian (former Russia), American and others, all working well together and with humor. They moved me out of a 3rd floor walk-up with dispatch, with care and not one bit of damage. 6 days later, they moved me into a building with an elevator, quickly and efficiently, with the whole team taking a great deal of care to ask where various boxes should go. It was a team approach. It was polished. And as much as a move can be, stress free, at least from their responsibilities. They arrived prepared with extra boxes, plenty of wardrobe boxes and blankets. I had extra large boxes for mirrors and CRT's, which they appreciated. I too was prepared, but was doing last minute packing, as they were moving stuff out. They handled large items as well as individual items with the same care. The only thing broken was a glass vase, which I broke several days later, taking it out of a box..and I slipped! ALL STAR movers lived up to their name. I referred them to the folks who were leaving my apartment in my new building, which enabled them to get a heads up in advance on the place to which I was moving. And all this happened on New Year's Eve! ALL STAR ROCKS! (PS I tipped the team 20%, not of the job cost but of the average estimate that others provided, it was well worth it.)

It went well and I'm glad I didn't have to move my stuff myself. The guys seemed normal. There were 2 issues: 1. There was no parking spot on my street, so my boyfriend went down to watch the truck while the 2 guys loaded/unloaded (so it would take less time). A parking cop showed up and the driver told her he'd move the truck and then didn't. When she circled back around the truck was of course still double parked so they got into an argument. It all turned out fine, mainly because they were really fast. 2. They dropped one of my boxes. Luckily it wasn't one of the 2 boxes I had w/ breakable stuff in it, but I think it was a little careless. One of the guys was basically trying to carry 4 boxes at one time.

When moving day came around, we were ready but our new home was not. There was still too much dust to move in with small children. A few days before the scheduled moving date, we reached the conclusion that we would need to store our things for a while. Rich was so unbelievably generous and offered that since it was February and there weren't that many moves booked, he would load our truck. If he didn't need to unload it before our moving in date came along(he has a small fleet of trucks, not sure how many)he would NOT bill us for storage! What a guy! And he kept his word. He made a stressful situation as happy as it could possibly be. We recommend All Star all the time, nobody has been disappointed.

They came in to our house and packed all of our belongings and moved them to the new location. They did a great job and handled everything very well.

These were by far the best, most professional, and courteous movers we have ever used, in any city. Rich, the owner was responsive and otherwise, great. Nick, the estimator, came when scheduled, was thorough and answered all my questions (and gave me some tips like making sure to save some blankets for wrapping lamp shades), and gave us a price. On the day of the move, the guys showed up on time and took great care to pack our kitchen dishes and glasses with care and to wrap our furniture with similar caution. They were efficient, kind, and just a pleasure to have working for us! Most of the same crew came to deliver our stuff, and the move-in went similarly wonderfully. All of our belongings were delivered, and there were no damages whatsoever. These guys go out of their way to be great at what they do - and nice to boot. I will recommend them to everyone!!

Wow! This is our 9th move in about 16 years, including 2 overseas moves, and this was by far the best team who ever moved us. The 7-man team was professional, personable, hard-working and really good at what they do. They worked carefully and steadily throughout the day, and handled the surprise street paving without stress. Our furniture was carefully wrapped/packed and loaded, and there was not a single ding or bump to our things or our apartment -- truly remarkable. Best of all, not only was each person on the team an excellent mover, but they were also really nice people. The day flew by, and I actually enjoyed myself! How often can you say that about moving day?

These folks are a dream to work with! Many of us do not do major moves often, and the range of choices for this high-expense service can be daunting. Thanks to the internet, I researched the options as closely as I could, then called half a dozen companies based upon ratings and reviews***. ---------- Owner Rich Barrale and others in his office were helpful and good communicators (a favorable mention of the company appeared in an article in the NY Times after we first spoke causing a flood of new business, causing small understandable delay in response). A site visit was impractical given the location of our home and we and the movers being in NY, so All Star gave an estimate based upon a list I supplied from memory. An interim trip to PA to pack showed me I had underestimated the number of boxes by half, and I urged All Star to increase their charge. Even so, they only went as high as the upper end of their estimate. Also, they Faxed an 'Order of Service' contract, asking no money up front. Quite a contrast with another company, who wanted from half to all of the funds in cash or money order form up front....(sometimes you have to go with your gut feeling: this other company had called minutes before Rich at All Star did, following extensive negotiation, the rep told me the company was going to "round up" their initial estimate by $400 with no explanation...). ---------- All Star's team of three men arrived in PA w/in an hour of the estimated time, were courteous and careful, working steadily in steamy heat. The items they packed were well-padded and handled, including oversize mirrors and pictures and a couple of fragile antiques. The un-stored items were delivered first thing the next morning. ----------- ***For those of you looking for a mover, my best advice is to check the website MovingScam.com, and to read the NY Times article I mentioned: 'Keeping Furniture Ransom Off Your Moving Bill' By KRISTINA SHEVORY Published: May 10, 2008 -------------- It's a scary world out there --- but I feel anyone would feel in good hands with the folks at All Star!!!

The whole transaction from the onset was wonderful! Scheduling was a breeze. Very accommodating. The movers arrived early. Picked me up (I don't have a car) and waited extra time for the storage facility to open. They had maps of the routes and were in constant contact with their home office. Both movers were pleasant and conscientious with the transport of my things. They wrapped furniture that wasn't already protected and brought things right into the apartment.

All-Star was excellent to work with from beginning to end. Schedulers Tom and Derek were friendly and helpful on the phone. They quoted what I believed to be a reasonably competitive price ($145/hr for 3 guys and truck) and accommodated us on very short notice - less than a week. On move day, the guys showed up right on time; nice guys who worked hard and efficiently. No problems, damage, or hangups of any kind. A smooth, positive experience.

Company representatives were friendly from start to finish; on the phone, even though I was asking for an estimate, they took my information so when I called back I just had to give my name. They provided the cheapest estimate ($70/hr., 3 hr. minimum). The two men showed up on time and were careful with my things. They even put together my futon and tables, and moved items to where I wanted them. Nice company.

Movers were thirty minutes early, helpful and efficient.

The All Star guys were super. Everyone I dealt with was courteous, helpful, and professional. The estimator, Nick, was on time and very thorough. I spoke with Connor several times on the phone and he coordinated the insurance certificates with the buildings. They provided wardrobe boxes to use during the move for my hanging clothes free of charge. The movers showed up on time and finished the job on schedule and under the "not to exceed" estimate. Derek and his crew were very pleasant to deal with. Nothing was broken or lost. Smooth as could be.

The fellows were on time, very conscientious and cordial. Things couldn't have gone better. In addition, All Star was the only company able to pull a team together on short notice, and their price was the most reasonable.

The movers arrived within 10 minutes of the scheduled start time. They were very efficient in loading my pre-packed boxes and even repacked some of them into larger boxes to save trips. They let me ride in the truck with them to my new apartment. The foreman offered me insurance, and was careful to explain what it would and would not cover. All three men carried loads up four flights of stairs, instead of one of them sitting with the truck. They worked quickly and carefully. When the job was done, they even carried an old futon down from the new apartment to the street. When the bill were added up, my one surprise was that the charge was the same price for a 1/2 hour as a full hour. There were also some minor charges for the equipment that they used to transport my things. Still, I would definitely both recommend and hire these movers again. Overall, the move was seamless.

These guys are the best you could ask for. They quoted a fair price, not the absolute cheapest, but not much more that the lowest quote. And the service was great. They show up on time and bring a crew with enough men to get the job done quickly. Everything was packed well and delivered in fine shape.

The truck was twenty minutes late, but the workers worked steadily and efficiently for the time for which I was actually charged. I was pleased with how professionally they worked and how cordial they were. One worker even returned to my job site to tie up a couple loose ends. I am most appreciative of his efforts.

They showed up on time, actually a little early. They were very friendly and courteous. They took great care with all our stuff. They were also very efficient and finished within the estimated time.

I thought they were outstanding and would definitely recommend them. They were there exactly at 8 am, as they said they'd be, and were done at 12, well within the time estimated. They were kind, hard-working, and strong as bulls. I cannot BELIEVE the amount they could carry on their backs in one go. They were cheap compared to the movers I hired before (Big John's, in Bronx/Manhattan), fast, professional, the works.
