Description of Work: they folks who made the delivery and pick up were fine, however office staff claimed that my furniture exceed the estimate - which it did not - and they would not delivery my furniture until i paid an additional amount. The people in the office were very arbitraty and not willing to be reasoned with. I had to choice but to pay the added amount to get my furniture delivered.

Description of Work: They gave us a quote, based on the number of items I provided, and a time to move those items. They went a little over the time, but we did have more stuff than I had told them for the quote.. They worked fast and efficiently.

Description of Work: The owner was very helpful when I spoke to him over the phone. The workers showed up right on time to pick up a couch & deliver it to my residence. They were on time in spite of bad weather. They wrapped the white couch to protect it. The person where they picked up the couch said they were courteous, professional and worked quickly. I was pleased with the service. At my residence the workers were polite, professional and helpful.

Description of Work: While it took a couple more days for All Star to respond to my on line query about their services, once we connected, they were very professional and a true pleasure to hire. The estimate was made after an inspection of what had to be moved and where it was being moved to. The price quoted was guaranteed. We were moving from Brooklyn, NY to Stamford, CT and the company accommodated my request even though we contracted with them rather late in the game, perhaps 10 days before we had to move! The crew showed up on time (8:20 AM for a 8:00 AM start time, good enough for NYC) and 6 men worked smoothly, efficiently and quickly to load up a ton of stuff. They did some packing for us, including putting clothes in hanging wardrobe boxes and packing up computers and other electronics with much care. We then proceeded to CT where a crew of four unloaded and helped set up all of our furniture and boxes, even hanging clothes in closets for us. The crew finished at 8 PM in the evening; I tipped in excess of the recommended 15% because I was so impressed with the crew. These guys know where their bread is buttered making certain that we were satisfied with their work, being polite to a fault during the entire process. Nothing was broken during the move. I did move was I thought were extremely fragile and valuable items such as china and jewelry myself in my car to avoid and potential breakage or loss of items I know would be an issue. Even though the move required the company to bring in another truck, a small van, to move some plants and other items that would not fit into the moving van, there was no additional or hidden charge. All ancillary materials such as additional moving boxes were included in the price. The only item not included in the price was the cost of tolls. This fact was fully disclosed beforehand. The price was a couple of hundred dollars more than the quote of a competitor with flat rates. I didn't haggle on the price though I suppose nothing ventured,nothing gained and perhaps they would have met the competitors written quote. I could not be happier with the services of All Star and I highly recommend that anyone moving get a quote for their services before hiring another mover.
