After interviewing some other contractors, Mike was selected for this project because he seemed "fair and responsible".  Looks can be decieving.  First off, the 1.5 yr build estimate turnes into a 3.5 yr build.  Mike was never on the jobsite, his workers were few and lazy, they took 2 hour lunches withour reprimand. Mike scrounged on everything to save a penny (including reusing materials from other jobsites).  When trying to understand what the h*** is happening we found that Mike who did show up like clock work to collect money did not pay the crew for weeks, nor the subcontractors.  Needless to say no one had insentive to finnish the job.  Anyway, were were finally happy to move into our house and found with the first snow that the flat roof he built was leaking (oops.. is leaking).  The stucco people that he hired for "cheap" did what they got paid for - absolutely nothing.  The srucco leaks through, and the water gets into the house.  This is actually the reason I am her today on Angie's looking for someone to fix what he screwed up.  He also neglected to connect the drain pipe from the tub, so everything leaked into the kitchen, half te light fixtures he installed are no working.  When I contacted him, his reply was this is no longer my problem - sue me.  Ok sir, I will nor sue you, but I wish that your life and happiness is as good as the work that you did on the house.
