I recently paid AJ Madison $2578.15 for a Thor electric kitchen range, Certificate of Insurance, Electric Cord Kit, Installation service, and 5 year protection plan. The kitchen range cost was $1784.00, and the final total for everything was $2578.15. Once the range was delivered and installed, it became evident that the size of the range front to back exceed any dimension provided in the online specifications. Specifications online state "Product Depth (including door): 26 1/2 in." and "Required Cutout Depth: 24 in." In reality, once the unit is installed, the front of the unit sticks out 28.75 inches from the wall. As a result, the ability to open the adjacent kitchen drawer and cabinet in our apartment has been obstructed. We are unable to access our pots, pans, silverware, and cooking utensils. As the installers were not in a position to do anything to remedy the situation, they left, and we immediately called AJ Madison to seek a solution. We were told by AJ Madison customer service that because the unit had been installed, there are no returns, exchanges, or options of any kind. The position we are now in is that we are forced to try to sell the unit somewhere like Facebook Marketplace, where we will be lucky to receive any close approximation to the base cost of the unit ($1784.00) and we lose the entire value of all the other expenses paid, amounting to $794.15 spent that we have no way to recover. To get to a place where we can use our apartment kitchen for cooking again, we have to wait for a secondhand buyer, arrange movement of the unit, and pay these expenses again for another unit in the future. Please avoid experiencing this same lack of common decency and good faith and SHOP ELSEWHERE.

Buyer beware! Buried in a FAQ and not sent to me until after I made a purchase in a Confirmation email of the order was I notified there’s a 35% re-stock fee if you return the appliance at the point of delivery. It wasn’t possible to see until the old dishwasher in my kitchen was removed (taking out finishing wood base and disconnecting machine) that the 24” depth i had measured was an inch off bc of a tube in the back of the area. The new one just wouldn’t fit so they repackaged it and brought it back - whole thing took about 15 min. And for that they’re taking 35%! Even when ai asked about doing an exchange. No go. So obviously I’m going elsewhere to purchase another washer that fits.

If I could give zero stars I would. Despite paying additional fees for “professional delivery services” of a washer/dryer, Aj Madison’s delivery contractor Stella Delivery badly damaged the hardwood floors throughout my apartment, and broke multiple tiles in the utility closet for the washer. Within 48 hours of the installation, I sent the photos and a description of the damage to both AJ Madison and Stella Delivery. Stella Delivery offered merely $200, and requested estimates for repair. I again promptly responded by obtaining written estimates from professionals to repair the damage. The estimates included the timelines required, and clear explanations about other required support. After three more calls to Aj Madison customer service, Aj Madison then requested correspondence from an attorney and/or insurance company. My attorney and the insurance company have followed up repeatedly - and Aj Madison has not responded. I am prepared to take my claim to court, but I write this review with the hope others will never order from Aj Madison. I have never experienced this kind of careless and unprofessional work, followed by unacceptable customer service.

Do NOT purchase appliances from AJ Madison I purchased a refrigerator, washer & dryer from AJ Madison. They are using a third-party delivery service because my home is outside their normal delivery area. The delivery company called today to schedule delivery for tomorrow and informed me that they only delivered CURBSIDE. I contacted AJ Madison Customer Service and the rep offered no help and said, “I understand how you feel/I’m sorry you feel that way, but that service (delivery to the room of your choice or even into the garage) is not available in your area.” The same scripted response over & over. I then contacted my sales rep who responded with “I didn’t know” and “don’t you have a contractor?” No accountability, no concern, and a complete absence of customer service. My problem. Never again!

My bad for not understanding this in advance, or for seeing the fine print about the 35% (!) restocking fee hit for canceling the order. But they wouldn’t even work with us to apply a reasonable share of the price we paid to purchase another product from them instead. Just basically told us we’re out of luck. Absolutely their right, and fully disclosed, but seems like really bad business to lose a customer through zero flexibility and understanding. Obviously won’t buy anything from them in the future. Learn the lesson from me: do all your homework, double-check your measurements and installation requirements, and check with your building superintendent before you buy a new appliance. Otherwise, at least with these guys, it will be costly and they will take your money and won’t try to help you out in any way. Thanks for nothing AJ Madison.

The range hood (cost more than $1100) was delivered in very poor condition, as the picture shows. The mortar was damaged and the fan as not on. The customer service is horrible. The process is so slow. It took more than one month for the service guy to come to make diagnosis. And more time to order parts to get it fixed. I will never, ever shop at AJ Madison again. Please leave far away from this company. It's not a company you can trust.

The compressor of my refrigerator has already gone bad just after purchasing it about 3 years ago. Refrigerator is a Samsung smart French door refrigerator, costing over $ 3,000.. Despite having extended warranty with New Leaf, it became a problem having a technician coming out to do an assessment. I had to make multiple calls, waiting for several hours before someone actually returned my calls.. Eventually when someone finally got back to me , I was told that they will schedule a visit with the technician. That never happened not until I threatened that I will file a lawsuit , that’s when I received a call from the technician. The technician came & indicated that the compressor was bad & that he would inform the office about it .Once again, I had to call the off several times, again waiting for quite a long time before someone answered the phone, I was told that I could not get a replacement nor refund. Instead, I would have to wait for them to order the compressor for repairs at an unknown time. In the meantime, I cannot utilize my freezer, having to go out to the supermarket daily , during this pandemic to purchase fresh foods. This problem started a week ago & has not yet been resolved. The Customer service representative who is assigned to this matter provided me with specific times when she would-get back to me to provide with updates about the status or progress of the pending repair schedule, unfortunately she has never kept that commitment. Instead, I am left with the responsibility of having to follow up. Waiting for hours only to find out that the office was closed for the day . I do not recommend anyone spending their hard earned money to this company . Had I read the previous reviews if the prior customers, I would have definitely made another choice in terms of where to spend $ 6,000+& an Extended Warranty . Very shameful.

Terrible. Go see the showroom but order elsewhere! 1, They billed tens of thousands of dollars over my sales order (no kidding) and failed to correct it without my having to get my credit card company involved and many hours on the phone. 2. The appliances were several weeks late. 3. They got the hood order wrong, failing to supply the recirc kit. 4. The salesman disappears after you give your credit card number - literally will respond to correct the order issues. 5. They do not honor their advertised price matching. 6. They have the ABSOLUTE WORST ATTITUDE toward customers I have ever come across. They don't do business in good faith or to any sort of professional standard. They sell the same appliances as everyone else. You may want to see their showroom but don't buy anything there. You will have very little recourse when things go wrong.

Delivery and installation were fine. But the appliance is not even 2 years old and the freezer has stopped working. I purchased a service contract from them and the vendor for that is New Leaf. The service has been terrible. The actual service provider is Appliances Unlimited and their repairman has been out 3 times, with no successful result. This guy now thinks he did the first repair wrong. So now they have ordered a new compressor and are going to redo the first repair. I've complained about the entire process and failure to repair, and demanded my money back on both the appliance and the service contract, but I'm told that there have to be 4 service calls before replacement or reimbursement are considered. And multiple calls about the same problem only count as one service call. It is a total rip-off. They sell a bad machine and a service contract, and then the incompetent service company can't fix the appliance, but their process makes it impossible for the consumer to get a replacement or a refund. Everyone makes money by cheating the consumer. My advice: do not purchase anything from AJ Madison, do not purchase a service contract and do not use Appliances Unlimited for any repairs. This has been an expensive experience.

they are giving out free phones but are lying to the people about their services.. they active phones and tell the people your phone will be mailed to you but it never happens. they have people wating on the free goverment phone and it never gets to their home. this company should learn to respect everyone and not abuse of the power for your own benefits.

They were honest and easy to work with! No pressure and they offer free shipping on all large appliances. It's easy to contact them and they are quick to respond, and the delivery people were excellent! For my kitchen remodel, I ordered three Electrolux appliances from this vendor. I chose them strictly on price and I'm kicking myself for letting that be the deciding factor. From the reviews, I knew I was taking a risk; but this provider was $800 dollars cheaper than its nearest competitor. What went wrong: The original stove was delivered so damaged it looked like it had be dropped from a huge height. When I called to report the damage, the first thing customer service asked was if I would be willing to accept the damaged merchandise for a $500 discount. The stove was dropped on its "head" so perhaps customer service thought I had also been dropped on my head. I explained the damage was more than just a ding and that the entire back end was bashed in and I wanted an undamaged appliance. Customer Service had the gall to tell me that I was responsible for getting the 500 pound stove back in the box for pick-up. Seriously? Several calls and a manager later, I was told that I only had to make sure the box was there. The logistics company sent to swap out the damaged merchandise with a new one adamantly refused to do so because they said that the stove wouldn't fit out the door. We had to bring up our assistant super to measure the door and coach the delivery team on how to move the damaged stove out and the new stove in. My husband had to burn another vacation day to wait for delivery. The end result of trusting that this company would deliver undamaged merchandise is that it put my remodel on hold for two weeks. I definitely spent any money I saved on take-out and restaurant meals for my family, Three meals a day for a family of three adds up pretty quickly. Not to mention the aggravation factor; which has been considerable. I would never recommend this company for any reason.

I would never recommend this company to anyone. Horrible customer service, horrible delivery crew. Completely unprofessional.
Description of Work: We ordered a new refridge through AJ Madison, we had requested they deliver and install it. Their crew refused to bring the refridge it, would not even attempt to install it. They left it in our garage, and after speaking with several different customer service reps they promised to send a crew the next day to install and remove our old refridge. After spending an entire day waiting for the second crew no one came. We proceeded to call again and be sent on another wild chase trying to track down anyone who could help resolve the problem. After several days of back and forth with the company we still had no working refridge. We hired a different company to come and install the refridge. Two weeks after our final call with AJ Madison, we received and email from them saying that their crew said we had to have a plumper on call to assist with the installation. That was a complete lie, as I said they never even set foot in our kitchen or even removed the old fridge.

couldnt have been better. Ordered all Monday afternoon May 19, delivered to south jersey ( over 3 hours from their warehouse) wednesday evening. phone order to delivery with a 72 hour turn around! Sales person was easy to deal with, gave me very competitive pricing, (and I did shop around extensively), and handled all my questions and concerns himself, even with multiple calls from me.. The trucking people and the system they use was fantastic as well. email status, phone calls promptly and even call backs with a half hour time window of delivery when they ran a little late. This company has consistantly been esy to deal with and very competitive prices. I ordered over $ 6000 worth of appliances for a new kitchen re model in December and January, and had similar experiences with them. Even when I had a problem with a dented fridge at delivery time, all was returned and new replacement delivered in a timely manner. great service, great people

the delivery guys just came and installed my new washer, disconnecting and removing the old one. I have to say that I have never received such prompt, courteous, efficient, professional service for such a job in my entire life. The route down a flight of stairs to the installation location was a bit tricky--doable, but a bit tricky, requiring some strength and skill on the part of the movers. Many delivery people would have refused even to try to do it, on the grounds that it was not an absolutely simple, standard path. The AJ Madison guys took one look, said, and quot;it can be done, and you paid for it to be installed, so we'll do it,and quot; and then proceeded to do it. They were amazingly strong, polite, smart, and friendly, and really just the ideal professionals. And given that my new washer (a 27and quot; LG front-loader) is installed and running less than 24 hours after I first saw their website, I'm incredibly impressed with AJ Madison in general and would definitely use them again for any appliance needs.

I had a terrible experience with AJ Madison after ordering a mini-fridge online (to use during a kitchen renovation). Though the online process made it sound like the fridge would be shipped by UPS, it was only days later that I received an email from them saying that their in-home shipping company (also owned by AJ Madison) would be in touch -- at which point they told me they'd charge me $125 for the insurance certification my building requires (half the cost of the fridge itself!). That charge was never disclosed on the website, and I would never have gone forward if it was. When I called them to explain why this wasn't going to work, they acted completely, to the point of yelling at me on the phone. Then they charged me $80 for the shipping expense (even though the order was cancelled and they never had to deliver the item) after claiming they also had the right to charge me a 15% and quot;restocking feeand quot; that they were waiving and quot;out of customer serviceand quot; even as they charged me for shipping. I tried to dispute the charge, but American Express was unable to do anything. I'll never use these crooks again.

Here is a head's up for any of you looking for a new refrigerator. On 6 19 2012 I purchased a new Samsung refrigerator from AJ Madison. Price was good and it was shipped correctly. I hooked it up and it has functioned pretty well as expected until this week. Temp in refrigerator side has gone up to 61 degrees F and no amount of button pushing or troubleshooting will change it. The freezer is still functioning correctly. I have a 1 year mfg warranty and I purchased an extended warranty. I called AJ Madison and they shuffled me off to Samsung who shuffled me off to their apparent low bid factory authorized agent who advised me it would be April 23 before they can get here to check on the problem. I called AJ Madison and Samsung both back and told them that was not acceptable. In a nice way their cust service reps and management told me to live with it. They were very sorry but could not do anything differently. I have written letters to president of both companies. I am sure at the appropriate time they will write back with their apology but it just does little good right now. My advice is to stay away from AJ Madison and Samsung unless you are willing to accept this kind of service. I'll keep you posted if things change but at this point everything has already spoiled. I ordered everything online and payed with a credit card before Christmas. I had them delivered at the beginning of February. They sent everything in February. I got two dishwashers and several other appliances. Everything was stainless steel. Everything was working great but the refrigerator was not getting cool. We waited 24 hours and the refrigerator never got cool. We called the manufacturer in New Zealand and they said this particular refrigerator was recalled and should not have been sent. They told us to contact AJ Madison. We called them and said the refrigerator was not working and they sent a technician. The technician said it looks like a three year old refrigerator and told us it was broken. He said it looks like they sent us a defective item. We called AJ Madison again and told them what the technician said. We were told they would send us a new refrigerator in a few weeks because they were based out of New York. They took the olf refrigerator and a few weeks later we got the new one. We turned the new refrigerator on and it was also not working. At this point we had been living in the house for a month without a refrigerator. We called AJ Madison and they sent out a technician again. A different technician said that this refrigerator was also bad. I called AJ Madison again and told them they had tried to send us two regrigerators that were not working so I asked for my money back. They told me no, that they can't give me a refund. They said they can only send another one and I told them that I don't want another refrigerator. I disputed the original charge through the credit card company and they called and told they would release the refund but that I needed to drop the dispute. Instead of refunding the amount of money to my credit card they automatically charged my debit card for the amount of the refrigerator. I ended up paying a $100.00 fee to them for nothing.

Purchased a Futuro Island Mount Chimney Range Hood with 940 CFM Internal Blower, 4 Speed Electronic Controls, 4 Halogen Lights, Convertible to Non-Ducted Operation and Tempered Curved Glass Panel: 36 in. Width It is a beautiful clean looking hood that is exceptionally functional, not too noisy. It is the perfect combination of form and function. The service provided by AJ Madison on the phone and information available on their website made the purchase easy. They underpromised by saying the hood could take a couple of weeks to receive (not yet delivered to their warehouse from Italy) yet they beat the estimated delivery by more than two weeks.
