Trust the reviews on here about how bad their customer service is and how little they care. I went to the store and purposely choose a refrigerator that was available and could be delivered that week. I laid out all the parameters, removal, installation, etc. After calling back & purchasing it I was told it was being delivered that Friday - but no, FOUR WEEKS later I got my refrigerator and with a huge fee that attached. Customer service and the sales person were terrible; no one calls you back so you have to follow-up and follow-up, Worst experience ever - will never ever buy from them again; plenty of other choices in NYC !

Under no circumstances should you buy from AJ Madison! Go to ABT, or Best Buy or PC Richards or Lowe's or ANYWHERE ELSE. They sold me an Electrolux washing machine and installation service... but they neglected to tell me that the installers would not be able to complete the installation of all the features of the machine, such as the reversible door. (Washing machines come with a hinge on the left side, but in my tiny space, I need the hinge on the right side.) So now I need to hire ANOTHER installation company (a REAL one) to reverse the door, and it will cost over $300. Call me crazy, but I think that if you sell a machine on with a reversible door on your website, and you sell professional installations, YOU MUST INDICATE THAT THE INSTALLERS ARE UNABLE TO HANDLE ALL ASPECTS OF THE INSTALLATION. And that's not all. I wish I could post photos here to show you the state they left my apartment in. They left dirt and garbage all over the floor. Dirt was ground dirt into the carpet in such a way that it will have to be professionally cleaned or replaced. And they dumped the trash, old hoses and dirty hardware in our (full) clothing hamper. As an added bonus, they broke the drain pan under the washer! The Electrolux machine is great. I just wish I had bought it ANYWHERE ELSE.

Delivered on time

It was HORRIBLE I would NOT recommend even thinking about going anywhere near this fraud of a so called business to ANYONE.

I bought A LOT of appliances from AJ Madison, including a Miele dishwasher, Viking Range, Zephyr Range Hood, Whirlpool Freezer, LG Washing Machine and LG Clothes Dryer. Despite assurances to the contrary, AJ Madison managed to show up at my apartment on the date of delivery without all of the appliances. I was given a window of 9am to 1pm. Their delivery/install people showed up around 2pm and brought everything up to my floor. I noticed as they got off the elevator that the dishwasher box looked like it had been beaten with baseball bats repeatedly. The delivery guys assured me it was perfectly fine and that it must have happened in the elevator. When they opened the box, the dishwasher was clearly dented and the handle was all scratched up, despite the fact that the delivery guy tried to claim there was nothing wrong with it. AJ Madison offered me a discount and a replacement door for the dishwasher if I would keep the one delivered rather than demanding a new unit. I stupidly agreed (NOTE: almost 5 months later, they still have not fixed the dented door and scratched handle). After two hours of doing who knows what, they told me that they couldn't install the dishwasher because it had a plug attached, my old dishwasher was hard wired, and they weren't capable of installing an outlet. I showed them in the installation manual where hard-wired installations were documented (apparently they had never seen the installation manual). The "completed" the installation. When they were done, the dishwasher was not level either front to back or side to side. In addition, they had screwed the side of the dishwasher into my kitchen cabinet so the cabinet would no longer open. I pointed out these issues to them and the told me there was nothing they could do about it. At this point, it was 5pm and they were already past my building's stop work time. The had wasted the entire day and failed to finish any of the three installations I paid for. The next day (second day out of work dealing with this), a different crew showed up with the Viking range. They came into the apartment, looked at the dishwasher, spent about an hour undoing/redoing what the previous crew had done, and announced they were done. When they were finished, the dishwasher was level and no longer attached to my cabinet door. As an aside, I discovered a few days later that when I touched the inside of the dishwasher and the sink at the same time, I got shocked. I had my electrician take a look. When we got down on the floor, we discovered that one of the feet that the dishwasher sits on was completely mangled. In addition, the electrician found that the dishwasher was not grounded. He fixed the electrical problem and I stopped getting shocked by my dishwasher. When the delivery/install guys were done with the dishwasher, they started on the range hood. They spent over an hour trying to figure out how to remove the old microwave/hood before giving up and saying they couldn't do it. I spent a minute looking, point out two screws, and a minute after that, they had removed it. They then spent another hour staring at the range hood before announcing that they could not install it. They moved on to the range, which also took them several hours because they partially disassembled the range and then could not figure out how to put it back together. The following day (yes, third day out of work dealing with this), another different crew showed up to work on the range hood. They first told me that they didn't do range hood installations. We argued about that and got them on the phone with the installation manager at AJ Madison who assured me that they install range hoods and told the guys to just do it. After about an hour, they also admitted defeat. I ended up having my own contractor install the range hood. It took him about 30 minutes, four screws and plugging a power cord into an outlet. After a lot of back and forth with AJ Madison complaining about their installation service, they finally refunded the installation for the range hood (which they didn't install). I spent months going back and forth between AJ Madison and Miele about my dishwasher. At one point, a Miele technician came to my house to "fix" it and declared that the dishwasher had been disassembled in a way that should never be done by installers or repair technicians. He recommended that the dishwasher be replaced with a new unit. I went back and forth with AJ Madison a lot more and they finally agreed to deliver a new dishwasher, at which time I would pay Miele out of pocket to remove the old one and install the new one and Miele would return the damaged dishwasher to AJ Madison. Despite making the offer in writing via email, to which I responded within an hour, they never followed through. AJ Madison has by far the worst customer service I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. They refused to own up to their mistakes and make good on my purchase. At this point, I have a slightly damaged dishwasher that I will continue to use until it is completely broken. When it dies, I intend to purchase a different brand dishwasher from a reputable, honest, competent reseller. It disgusts me that AJ Madison is able to treat people the way I've been treated and manage to remain in business. I sincerely wish I had read and headed all of the reviews of them available online. If you do a simple search, you'll find MANY horrible reviews of this company. No matter how outrageous any of those reviews sound, after this experience, I have no doubt in my mind that they're all completely true.

The worst experience I have ever had. Unit arrived via tractor trailer. Upon taking out of the box dented in back. After it was installed it ran continuously shutting off every minute for 10 seconds. When calling AJ Madison they referred it to Amana. Amana sent tech out here that didn't even want to come this far. Unit also did not have grounding wire. When tech came out and looked at the book (picture of ground wire) he still needed to call Amana to find out where to put it. The next problem (continuously running and stopping for 10 seconds every minute). Owner of company comes out. Gets on the phone with Amana. Amana tells him it must be an air leak and an intallation problem. He wanted to stuff paper towels around spaces in unit??????? He stuffed the foam from the box the unit came in around any open space. Do yourself a favor and stay away from any A J Madison and Amana. I will never buy from either of them again. As I said worst experience I ever had.

AJ Madison contracts out to AM Trucking for Delivery & Installation. Worst experience ever. Attempt #1: Please note they don't give you any warning of what you may or may not need for installation to work, such as type and location of power outlet, type and location of hose leading to drainage, etc -- they use their first visit as "discovery" so then they can charge you to come back again! They left a big mess and broke the cabinets -- do not expect these guys to clean up after themselves! Do not expect them to repair what they break! Do not expect them to come with tools and flashlights -- they want you to have that stuff. Do not expect them to ask you before they move anything out of the cabinets or out of their way. Attempt #2: They gave me a 1-5pm time slot. I took off work to be there. They did not show up. I called to find out way -- they told me he'll be there 5:30pm. I told them not possible and why didn't you call me to tell me they'd be late? No reason. Attempt #3: They said they would come 1-5pm when I rebooked it and I scheduled work around that. Night before they called to say 11-3pm -- I said not possible I already took off work. When they came -- again a big mess. Charged me extra for a hose and claimed I lost the hose they left the last time. Dishwasher is NOT level -- they guy doesn't even carry a level? Their "receipt" was a e-mail print out with my address -- huh? They said on the phone they took cards -- they do not! Only cash & check. They said my fee was waived on the phone for the mess up last time -- it was not. Do not trust anything they say at AM Trucking! You spend $1800 on a dishwasher at AJ Madison and they sent poor service people and nickel and dime you along the way. Worst company ever. No pride.

It went better than expected. We didn't think buying a big ticket item online like this was such a good idea but it worked out well. We were looking for a specific fridge, a 36in counter depth fridge with water dispensed on the inside. We bought a KitchenAid and this webiste had the best price and delivery was free. It came within a few days. The delivery men unpacked it and brought it inside. They would have taken the old one away except we weren't ready to get rid of it just yet. The 2 men were polite enough. My only complaint is that they left a few pieces of packing tape on the street and 4 large screws were found in the road.

I searched forever to find the right refrigerator for our *tiny* kitchen. AJ Madison had it on their website for a really good price, and their delivery was great. Their showroom is not huge, and they may not have exactly what you're looking for on-site, but call them and ask. Our sales person offered to bring the fridge in so we could look at it, saying that they ought to have such a popular NYC model around. But the site is good for research and customer reviews of appliances.

A manager name Irving at A J Madison was not nice or helpful at all...This experience was very time consuming and upsetting, to say the least.....
