They didn't do anything wrong, but we wouldn't use them again because they were pushy and overpriced. They charged us a couple hundred dollars more to take care of work they recommended to us. They clearly knew what they were doing though.

Everyone at "A Good Plumber Inc." was professional, knowledgeable, and pleasant. I am very happy with the work that they did, and I hired them again to do more work in the basement.

The plumber was very professional and knowledgeable, but I thought the cost of the job was very expensive for the scope of work involved. However, the company does provide a one-year warranty for its work. I would hire the company again, but probably for more complex jobs where their expertise and experience would be a better value.

They were very good. I have actually used them again since this job. They were very pleasant and nice. They also gave me some ideas of other things needing done to tune the system up.

Tom, Dan, and Tom's father, Warren, were incredible! First they spent an inordinate amount of time simply testing and diagnosing the source of the plumbing problem plaguing my apartment building so they could address and assess every issue. Then they explained and demonstrated their findings and, finally, addressed ALL the related plumbing issues with both technical skill and good humor. Finally, Tom and Dan tested and tested and tested to make sure they were leaving my fellow tenants and me with neither unwanted water nor anxiety. When Tom and Dan were finished, Warren conducted a final, separate inspection--then HE explained everything that was done (again, translating the technicalities of the plumbing trade into plain-spoken English--for both my far-flung landlord and me. A week later, I received a phone call from Tom making sure the work had held up. It has. And, because they used quality, legal materials, it will...for years. If you're looking for quality work and quality people, these are your guys. This is your company. I actually miss them.

I called A good plumber when my boiler did not work, no heat on a very very cold day. Bill returned my call shortly, arranged for his men to come to queens to access the problem. Dan and Jose arrived, put a carpet down and booties on their shoes, to keep the area clean. They immediately went to work. They stopped several times to explain things to me. The job was more involved than they thought at first. They worked very hard and for almost four. (4) hours until my heat was working, they would not leave until they felt everything was working properly. They were very professional and personable. Bill called the next day checking how things were going, I told him I was very satisfied, however there was an issue with the bill and it was resolved to both our satisfaction. I would definitely use them and recommend.A good plumber to all my friends.

The quality of the work is exceptional and I would definitely use these guys again. Price was a bit higher than I've paid with the previous plumber but the quality of the work warranted it. Very professional and family owned. Great customer service!

I left a message with their answering service and someone called back in a timely fashion.? The person I spoke to on the phone was very professional and gave a thorough overview of the company and their services.? I was able to schedule an appointment for the following day. When the technician arrived he took a look at the sink.? The sink does in fact drain but a it is a little slow and we were hoping to have that remedied.? The technician informed us that he wanted to snake the drain but in order to do so he would have to replace a multitude of parts.? All in he quoted over $650 to clear a slow drain.? Seemed completely insane to me.? I checked in with our building super to ask his opinion and he advised us to pass and that the quote and scope of work was excessive. Update:? In response to the providers comments.? This is a branch new building and there is certainly no reason pipes would have to be replaced.? These guys were taking us for a ride.

They came and everything turned out well. They refunded the service as they were not able to take care of the service. They did some other work outside of the Big Deal. My landlord got a huge bill and he was shocked by the amount of money they charged for this.

We had Jose Ramirez come to the house. He was very professional and explained everything step by step what he was doing, why and how much it was going to cost. We had a lot of questions and he answered them with no problem.

Good. The drywall had to be cut out around the overhead shower and the pipe secured.

On the day they were scheduled to come I received a call and a text message to let me know the name of the plumber that was coming. Them the plumber called to let me know the estimated time of arrival. The plumber that came was extremely professional, before he came into the house he put on shoe covers. He took a look and told me his assessment and also gave me different scenarios and options. He also asked if there was anything else I wanted him to look at or if I had any questions or concerns. Note: there is a small fee of $59 to come and inspect, which I was made aware of when I called to schedule the appointment. I highly recommend them and will use them in the future.

After losing heat during a particularly cold week, Bill had someone at my house the same day. First, I should point out that the company itself is extremely professional. Not only did Bill work hard to get me a same day appointment, but the company send along emails and texts so that I would know not only when to expect the staff (Dan and Jose), but also who to expect with pictures to verify their identity. This was a great touch especially since I am new to the neighborhood. Dan and Jose were great, they arrived as expected and got straight to work. I expressed an interest in wanting to understand what was going on with the system and and they ran with it explaining to me exactly what they were doing and why they were doing it. They were also incredibly patient with my incessant questions. It turned out that the system needed a few parts replaced and a good cleaning. I found the cost for the parts, as well as the flat rate fee for the work, to be reasonable based on other places I called and research I had conducted. Additionally, Bill called as a follow up the next day to make sure that my heat was once again working properly and that my experience with his staff was positive. A small detail that was very much appreciated. I would absolutely call this company again for any of my plumbing needs, heat or otherwise.

They were professional, punctual, clean, very responsive and friendly, but unfortunately could not do an appropriate maintenance for my particular brand of boiler (Laars Endurance). If you have one of these, they are unfamiliar with them, so best to call a specialist instead, even for "maintenance". I have had repeated problems with it since they were here, though I can't say that this was their fault, it could certainly just be a problem that would have turned up anyway, but in calling for maintenance I was hoping to head off such problems. After some discussion the owner did agree to give me a partial refund which I very much appreciated. For other types of work and more common boilers I would recommend.

They were very responsive by email however, the ad said that the price was for Brooklyn and Queens only. Yet when they emailed me to set up an appointment, they insisted on a $59 additional trip fee; and said that they were not responsible for Angie's List mistakenly not putting that trip fee in the Big Deal ad.

I called on a Wednesday and got a call back same day. The gentleman I spoke with, Bill, explained their pricing and told me they would have a technician out the following morning (Thursday). One small issue: he said he would call me back to let me know either 8-9AM or 10-11AM. He never called back, which left me uncertain about the appointment. That said, the technician arrived (around 9AM) as promised, was very professional, very respectful of my apartment (he even removed his boots before entering), and worked efficiently to get the job done. The price tag seemed a bit excessive, especially because they charge a $60 dispatch fee just for the guy to show up, but I'm confident the work was done well and the tech was conscientious about cleaning up the work space when he was done. Great experience, pretty expensive. But as they say: You get what you pay for.

This is not the first time I used A Good Plumber.? I got them from Angie's List in 2012 and I am very satisfied with them.? They are always prompt, professional and courteous.? They also explain everything that they are doing.? I will definitely use them again.

Called for an emergency beginning at 5:30pm on a Saturday (burst pipe). The answering service said I'd get a call back within 2 hours. I called twice more and finally gave up at 10:40. It's now the next day. Never even returned the call.

We had a leak or thought we did. The dripping was not constant and seemed to stop, but I wanted a plumber to check it out nonetheless. Bill, the owner, in an excellent communicator and responded promptly to emails and calls. He was also upfront about "dispatch fee", which I am fine with. You can't have someone come out and look and not pay a dime. It turned out we did not need any leak fixed now, but our pipes are old, so that day will come. I have peace of mind. Also, it should be mentioned that these are real deal professional and licensed plumbers. Now I feel that I have a plumbing company I can call on.

AMAZING company! These guys are top notch, super friendly and really responsive in emergencies. They clean up after themselves and are utterly reliable. They are a little more than other plumbers I've found but whenever I try to cut corners when it comes to plumbing (especially) something always comes back to bite me in the a** and I end up paying triple in the long-run. I know when I call these guys that the job will be done really well and professionally. Also, my wife hates being home alone with guys she doesn't know and she has felt really comfortable with every single person from this company. Awesome , good guys who do solid work.

Was forwarned that they might have to cut away or break up part of the tile floor to get at and replace the toilets closet bend which was probably installed when the house was built in the 1920's. Jose and his assistant, sorry I did not get his name ,put in the extra time and effort in the basement to cut away the old pipe in very tight quarters and install the new closet bend without having to cutup the bathroom floor. Since that floor was installed in the late 80's the tile would have been impossible to match ,so it would have ment redoing the entire floor or try to convience the wife that it would have been a focal point, which was not going to happen. Thanks Jose for saving me a lot of money, time and work. Their clean up was better than mine usually is, so I'll have to try harder in the future. A good job all around , always.

Mr. Plumber performed maintenance service on home boiler. Upon initial inspection it was discovered the the boiler's wiring and water discharge system was not adequate. The technician doing the initial inspection suggested and called in one of his wiring specialist to explain to me in details what issues he found. That technician was very knowledgeable? of the system and fully explain to me what was needed to correct the problem. Overall Mr. Plumber did an OUTSTANDING job with the repairs. All technicians were very professional and courteous. I will use this provider if the need for plumbing service is needed again in the future.

Just too costly |replaced a short pipe under basement sink ($199) and a copper fitting |($66) plus a "dispatch fee) $79. and, of course, tax. |Work took about an hour. He explained what he was doing, came on time, seemed knowledgeable.

Two of my radiators were not getting hot so I contacted A Good Plumber because of their ratings on Angie?s list. I spoke to someone named Bill during the initial consultation and he explained to me that for problems with radiators they pretty much start with the boiler. On Monday Jose came to service my boiler. Jose was very charming, a very nice guy and he explained everything to me. Told me that the boiler had not been serviced in a while there was rust in the pipes. Some pressure relief valve was not installed correctly so he fixed it and he put in some chemical to help clear out the rust. When he was done the invoice was for a little over $600. I asked him why so much. He said the boiler service was $267 and there was another charge of $267 for a valve. I asked him what that valve was for. He explained to me every few weeks I would have to drain some water out of the boiler to flush out the rust and the valve I have is old so he wanted to replace it with a newer valve which was easier to use. I said but you haven?t even checked to see my valve works, if it works why should I pay almost $300 for a new one? He said because the new one is better. I said absolutely not! If mine works there is no reason to buy a new one. When He drained some water out of the boiler lo and behold my old valve worked fine. At that point I started to look at this company differently. When I had spoken to Bill during the initial consultation he told me that this company takes pride in upfront pricing etc. but what about the technicians trying to sell customers products they don?t need? Do the technicians work on commission? Well After that fiasco Jose asked me to turn my thermostat to 80 degrees. When I returned to the boiler room, he explained to me that I needed a new gas valve because the flame that was currently in my boiler was about 3-4 inches in height but it should be about 12 inches to heat the water so it can make steam. He explained to me that not changing the gas valve would cost a lot in my gas bill because it would take twice as long for the boiler to produce steam etc. I agreed to change the gas valve which was $649 and also had to change the burner assembly $133 and burner tubing $133. When that was done and my thermostat was turned up the flame was indeed about a foot high. While Jose was checking all the gauges on the boiler he noticed that the glass tube that shows the water level in the boiler was leaking. He told me that the seal was bad but as long as I kept the valve above it closed I should not have a problem. At that point he had been in my home for about 3.5 hours and his phone kept ringing. I guess he had other jobs to do. So my Boiler is producing steam at 100 percent but my radiator sounds funny. I say to Jose is my radiator supposed to sound like that? He says no, that means that you have a bad valve in your radiator. With that Jose packed up his tools and left. I guess that means I have to set up another service appointment with A good Plumber to change the valves in my radiators. On Saturday I?m cleaning my boiler room and notice that the little glass pipe on the side of my boiler is empty, which means that there is no water in the boiler. W**? At this point I?m p*****! I just paid $1434.97 to get this thing in proper working condition and now it?s running on empty which is super dangerous. I called A Good Plumber and they sent a technician named Warren out. Once again a super nice guy. Very charming and knowledgeable. When I told him that the last technician closed the valves so the glass pipe would not leak, he looked a little confused, like he did not believe me. He changed the seal, which took a whopping 45 seconds and opened the valves and the problem was solved. He flushed and drained the boiler and explained to me what to do incase this should happen again. I really think I will get a second opinion before I decide to get any work done again especially if it?s going to cost so much.
