So far so good. Did not have the money for a new chimney. They fixed it to hopefully hold up this winter. Will need to replace in the Spring.

Andre and his team were very responsive, worked quickly and did a nice job. He was available to visit our place one day after the initial inquiry for the inspection and estimate. His team was available to start work the very next business day. They showed up on time, completed the work as described and finished the job on schedule. They were also tidy about cleaning up the working area once the job was done.

It went well. They were on-time and completed the project on-schedule.

Overall Andre and his team were very professional. They arrived on time and completed the work in 2 days. (We were expecting the job to take 3 days). We have a 3 floor brownstone so they had to break through the walls on each floor to remove the old tubing in the chimney and to replace it. The old tubing was in bad shape and it was causing our boiler not to be able to vent properly through the chimney. Not to mention there was trash and garbage in the chimney that the previous owners had left us. My husband and I have had other work done on our house before so we were expecting to clean up a large mess after they were done but it wasn't that bad. Andre and his team put up plastic covering to help with the brick dust, etc. and they replaced any damaged bricks with other recycled bricks they had after the job was done.

The provider arrived on time with a crew of 3 people. They explained what they would do. They worked methodically and completed the service promptly and professionally. When the service was complete they cleaned up.

They were here and gone in less than 30 minutes. They wanted to charge me for me for extra services. I did not find them acceptable.

They arrived on time and went straight to work. I paid the same price I was quoted over the phone. My chiney was blocked which caused my boiler to keep shutting down, It was recommended to have my chimney lined but I was short on money and will do in another month or so. Today it's 6 degrees outside and I am happy to say that my boiler is working perfectly. Very professional. I would recommend.

It was wonderful. He is reasonably priced, he is very professional and I wasn't able to go to every property with them. And I was able to give them the keys, they did the job, cleaned it , locked up, turned off the lights, they were very professional and reliable.

I don't feel they were terrible but my experience was not good. I might use them again but would explore other company's first.B-

Andre came over within the hour of our first call to look at the job and give us an estimate. He explained the source of the problem and gave us several options to remedy the situation. His estimate was very reasonable for what we decided to do. He returned punctually on the agreed upon date to do the work. He and his two assistants were efficient, professional, and courteous in completing the work. We would use his services again and would recommend him to others.

A & A CHIMNEY & FIREPLACE COMPANY i called A & A CHIMNEY & FIREPLACE COMPANY to have my chimney cleaned and the caps on top of the chimney put back on. i was told that the last appointment is at 3 p.m. so i made an appointment for Tuesday, August 31,2010 at 3 p.m. on Tuesday 8/31/10 i came home early from work and waited. no body showed up. i called and was told they don't have a record of my call. but will make it up to me and will come Wednesday between 5 and 5:30 . the man being so nice and pleasant over the phone i said OK on Wednesday, September 1,2010 the man showes up at my door at 6 P.M. and says i have to come back tomorrow because i don't have a ladder. how do you come to the job with out a ladder?????????? at that point i felt i was being made a fool of, and lost all trust and faith in this company and told them to forget about it one thing i must say they were very pleasant people to talk to. but i lost 2 days and i wasn't going to let them do any work for me

Andre was kind enough to talk to me(it's snowing heavily outside, so this might be a good time for me to call more contractors!). The homes I'm looking at are in Nassau County, and his company doesn't service outside Queens/Brooklyn (Angie's List needs to work on this distinction!!!) He still gave me a general rundown of what he looks for, when examining a chimney for repair, and what the estimated costs might be. I really appreciated his willingness to discuss chimney repair, even though he was not available for the potential job.

A boiler repairman had warned us our chimney was clogged and offered to clean it out (off the books) for $125. We called André instead, and he sent someone over on the next business day*, who did the job quickly and left the boiler room looking tidier than it has in decades. *We had originally scheduled the job for a later date, but when we called back and explained that we were concerned about carbon monoxide (which was in fact leaking back into the basement), he immediately agreed to reschedule.

We researched a few options and decided to go with A&A based on price and reputation as reported on the site brownstoner.com. Our entire experience with Andre Buchanan was nothing but pleasant, reliable and professional. I could not sing the praises of Andre enough, he was really nice to work with, and his work was impeccable. In order to properly fit a liner into one of the chimneys, Andre and his crew had to break through the brick on the top floor of our brownstone. At first I was worried that this would create a mess with our brickwork, but instead his guys did a great job re-bricking actually improving the way it looked before. Another story about how helpful Andre was with my home... A few weeks after the chimney's were lined...we ran into an issue in our soon to be renovated kitchen. Our goal was to have our stove top vented through the chimney. As the kitchen contractor continued work in the kitchen we noticed that the brick wall in the kitchen would not be strong enough to support the ventilation unit. So at the last minute I called on Andre to come and help break down and rebuild our brick wall in the kitchen to meet the tight deadline we had with the kitchen folks. Andre really helped us out in a bind, and as usual was fairly priced and did really nice work.

They were always on time, courteous, and clean. They were always here when they said that they would be. We had heard that this company was very fair with their work and worked with its clients very well. They made sure that we were informed about everything they were doing. They took exactly the same amount of time that they said they would and never tried to tack on hidden fees. It was a very honest and skilled company to work with.
