Asher The Handyman

Asher is a true professional, punctual, conscientious, resourceful. He solved a big problem for me with three doors that I thought were doomed. He fixed them beautifully.

I'll get right to it! This guy is d*** good. Works fast, safe, meticulous and professional. communicates and confirms on project. No doubt you'll be happy and satisfied afterwords. I have A few more projects I'd like to see done here. Overall I think I found my handyman.

Asher was very professional and very reasonably priced. He completed everything that we requested him to fix/build. We are very likely to hire him again and recommend him. He made our angieslist membership worth the money.

Asher was very helpful and honest. We just moved into a new apartment and I am sure once we decide what we want to do next I will be giving him a call. The medicine cabinet looks nice and the rack under the sink is just what we needed to keep the cleaning supplies organized. He put it together no problem and we are happy. Highly recommend.

He came and checked the basement and plugged up some holes, then checked throughout the building, under the sink, holes in the wall, baseboard anywhere he could he see signs where mice had entered the building. To this day it continues to help reduced the problem. Very nice, and easy to contact. He was prompt and I would use him again if I have another issue.

We had two leaks in a our bathroom and kitchen. The ceiling was cut opened by the plumber. There were two holes that needed repair. We called Asher and he came the next day, evaluated the job scope and gave us a fair price. He scheduled a appointment for two days later ( to fit our schedule) he arrived on time, was professional and finished the job in one day. He was neat and cleaned up the job. I would completely call him again to do any scope of work in our home.

It states in his listing no job to small and that he comes to Staten Island neither one was true on my call to him he told me that what u needed done was to small and it wasn't worth him coming from Brooklyn.

Ahser, demolished my make-shift closet. He hung 3 giant shelves. He hung 2 curtain rods and curtain holdbacks. He hung 2 large candle holders (decorations). He is a perfectionist who makes sure everything is done flawlessly. I've asked him to come back and do my wallpaper and hang more decorations. I trust him with everything!

Asher was on time and as always very pleasant and easy to work with. He's very knowledgable but also listens to your ideas. He worked quickly and is extremely reasonable in his pricing.

I had been trying for days to install grab bars in my mother's shower. I finally realized that the job was beyond my skill level and my tools. I found Asher on Angie's List and called him on Tuesday 10/21/2014. I described what I was trying to do and the problems that I was having. I was not using ancors for example, even though I know about them, because I was afraid of breaking the tile. Asher said that I definitely need ancors. He offered to come that very afternoon, but since I don't live with my mother that wasn't good for me. We settled on Wednesday at 2pm as the time for him to come. He showed up within 5 minutes of that time. He had all the right tools and fasteners. It took him about 30 minutes to complete the job. He asked to borrow a broom that he used to clean up after himself. He charged me the exact amount that he had estimated over the phone. I paid cash. I wanted a receipt. He said I could write it up and he would sign it. We did that. I am very pleased with the job. My mother is very pleased also.

Mr. Asher quoted me a great price and was on the job 2 days later. He took care of everything I needed done, quickly and organized and made the space look like new. I will absolutely be using his services in the future!

Asher was professional, helpful, and very fair. He was swift to assess the work to be done and get to work on it. There was some change of intent throughout the project, and Asher was accommodating with no complaints. The work came out great and I would recommend him to anyone in need of a handyman.

We set an appointment for 9am on Sunday and Asher was on time (we don't live in the appointment yet, and we were 3 minutes late). We then reviewed what needed to be done and went to the hardware store together to purchase materials (at my previous suggestion). Unfortunately the store was closed until 10am and So I bought Asher a cup of coffee at Starbucks and told him I'd pay for the lost time. He didn't charge me... Super nice guy. Once he got the goods at the store he did a great job at the apartment (we asked him to seal all the and also put on our new toilet seat, which was not part of our original discussion (and which he did for free) and also helped us secure our windows for baby-safety (again no charge). I will definitely be asking Asher back for every conceivable job. He's knowledgable and very good, but even more important, he's a very kind human being.

Absolutely Terrible. He came in quoting me 250-300 dollars to seat a toilet and install a vanity for my bathroom. He came in and absolutely did not want to be there. He said I bought all wrong things and needed to return them. He left within 20 minutes and didn't do a thing. I ended up installing everything myself in 3 hours. Worst Handyman I have ever seen.

I called him and he came out immediately. I called again to get the work done and he came out the next day. He was great and was responsive.

Came on time for estimate. Came on time and started work the next day. We were very pleased with the completed job. No complaints what so ever. Did quality work and finished when promised. Would definitely use again.

Asher was a true professional and a pleasure to work with. He was prompt, quick, pro-active yet very responsive to our direction and requests. The quality of the work was great. He took the time to go to a hardware store and get some parts so he could keep things moving. He was more expensive than other handymen we have worked with, but he was worth it for his reliability and quality of work. We will definitely work with him again.

I called Asher to patch up my shower wall (I recently had plumbing work done to replace my shower). He quickly diagnosed the problem from pictures I sent him and agreed to do the work the next day. He showed up perfectly on time, explained the steps to be taken, installed a cement backer board, put on tiles, and finished with grout. He even installed the new shower and used the extra grout to patch up some other cracks in the shower, independently from the initial job. I consider the overall result excellent. Asher is a perfectionist who pays great attention to details. I couldn't be happier and would definitely call back.

We've used Asher in the past and will use him again. We are very picky about finding providers and Asher has been a pleasure to work with. Aside from doing competent work at a fair price, what makes him extra pleasant to work with has been his flexibility of schedule, his responsiveness and punctuality. Asher has also been willing to come out time and time again to give us free quotes on various jobs, even though we haven't always ended up having that particular work done. He is also extremely tolerant and pleasant toward our 4 rambunctious children, which is just an extra perk that makes him easy to work with. Today the painters we had also hired were unable to repair a severely cracking and peeling ceiling in a spare room. Asher offered to pick up the necessary materials and do the work himself the next day (which we happily agreed to). Perhaps we should have just hired Asher for the entire job! We look forward to seeing Asher tomorrow and later this week for multiple jobs. We highly recommend Asher to anyone, but we've booked him up this week so you should call soon to get on his calendar!

Asher was responsive from the start - had to change the date/time a few times, and Asher was agreeable. Asher was able to work on project immediately - fitting me in before his vacation. On both days of project, he arrived on time, even a bit early. He was attentive to details, making sure sheetrock fit, applied plaster multiple times, and painted carefully. He cut the sheetrock perfectly to surround the light fixture. Work was done very well - can't see where damage was. He was pleasant and agreed to some extras - plastering hole in another wall, and plastered over other damage. I would definitely recommend him and hire again.
