Riley's Carpet

They ordered the carpet that I requested for a basement bedroom and promised that the carpet would be removed the next day and the new carpet would be in the day after. Instead they removed the original carpet and installed the new carpet the following day and had completed everything by early afternoon. They more than met our expectations. In addition we used an $85 coupon from a neighborhood Value Guide Magazine for $85 making the final cost $660. If we need any other carpet in the future we will be sure to use them or recommend their services.

During the process of ordering the flooring, Riley's was consistently late and sluggish, showing up late for estimating appointments and for the actual installation. As a result, the flooring was not completed until a full week after the date we'd agreed on. Topping it all off -- and most egregiously -- Riley's did a job that could charitably be called unprofessional. When the wood slats came slightly higher than our closet and bedroom doors, the installers simply sawed off the bottoms of the doors, with no effort to plane them down or to cover up their butchering. When we complained, they did a slapdash patch-up job on the closet door, adhering a thin plastic strip to the bottom; it held up for less than a week. The floor itself is completely uneven, with a slope in the middle. We have the furniture precisely placed so that it won't fall over. Repeated complaint calls were not returned or acknowledged. To this day the two doors in our bedroom look like they were in some sort of disaster, and do not close properly. This company is a bastion of incompetence. Stay away from them.
